It seems that they are not very prepared for the sides to be "to go" as they just sit in open-air dishes in the bag. If it got tilted at all they would be all over the bottom of the bag. Also we luckily only live 10 min down the road or they would be super cold and gross. EVERYTHING is fried and greasy. I wont say the burger tasted bad... but we felt super gross after eating it. I really like the food at this chain, however this location is and was a massive disappointment. The good: Place was immaculate clean. Employees are friendly. Access is good. The bad: Took over 30 minutes from time of order placed to receive my to go order. I had to ask about it when people who came in after me were being served before me (they didn't order in advance). Manager told me my name was called when my order was ready. Considering there were 6 people in the restaurant at the time one would think I would have heard one of the 3 people working say my name. They had a nice girl taking orders and wrapping food. One guy on the grill making the food and doing prep work & finally the manager who was either walking around talking to the employees or on his computer (table behind me actually) not doing much to help anyone. Very decent fast food burgers, and in my opinion better than the top 3 international joints. They allow you to customize your burgers Five Guys style, and the double bacon burger is a doozy. The only drawback is that their bacon wasn't crisp during this particular experience, being limp and chewy. The wayback sauce is glorious though, with a nice zing and tang. We have been loyal customers of Wayback for a few years now. However, this is our last time ordering from here because of the rude and unprofessional customer service we received from the manager. We ordered three burgers with lettuce, tomato, onions, jalapeños, sauce etc. and once we got home we noticed that we received only CHEESE and MEAT on a bun. When we called and told them that they had made a mistake, the manager initially told the employee we were speaking to that she would call us back - which makes no sense as we just wanted the issue resolved the same night. This place has potential to be good, but it's just not, at all. They have a lot of option and different types of burgers but the patties are virtually flavorless and dry. They barely put any sauce on my A1 burger and barely any crispy onion straws. They sell tenders but the tenders don't come with sauce, which makes ZERO sense. They sell cheese curds that also don't come with sauce. If you want ranch you have to pay extra for it and they don't have marinara for them. The workers acted so annoyed that we were asking for sauces as if that's not a normal thing when you order items that typically come with sauces. In total we ordered a single cheeseburger, chicken tenders, a grilled cheese, french fries, an oreo milkshake and several soft drinks. Unfortunately I only got a pic of my meal. I have to start by saying that we've never been to Wayback Burger before so we can't be quite sure if some of the issue could've been on Grubhub but we were disappointed with our food. We both ordered the build your own burger, I got it with pepper Jack and the garlic sauce, she got it with bacon, cheddar, and the chipotle Mayo. We both ordered the way back sauce for our fries. Everything was amazing! After our meal, we decided to get a shake and some Mac and cheese bites. All together, it was about $40 or so. The food was made very fast and they were busy when we went by. How can I say this politely; overpriced, underdressed, unpunctual, deceptive, and under seasoned. I've had Wayback Burgers elsewhere in the states, so I finally decided to try one closer to home. Ordering process is facile enough. This is when things took that cliché turn for the worse..... The food took 26 minutes to come out, which is rather absurd for a vis-à-vis fast food encounter. Amongst other things I ordered a double bacon burger, which based on a preponderance of the evidence (Iphone App, website, menu, pictures) heavily indicates the presence of pork bacon. What I received was limp, clandestine turkey bacon. Which would have been satisfactory if indicated in some way, meaning that I would've avoided it. The fries are very basic, Idaho potatoes fried conservatively, but criminally under seasoned. The quality of the meat itself is adequate, but again, lacks salt and pepper. Toppings were run of the mill, and the shake (Oreo Mud Slide) had a very gritty texture with a strange aftertaste. I do not believe I will be back, in fact I think a refund is in order for the faux bacon, and for whatever reason if the franchisee refuses to sell bacon it should somehow be indicated boldly somewhere. read more

Never been here and decided to give them a try. Ordered online and saw there was a promotion going on for a free shake but was denied by the "owner" who had an attitude for some reason (bad day?). Tried to politely ask why and was told they can't and wouldn't. No apology, no acknowledgement of promotion. Simply said she would not honor it and handed me my food. This owner needs to work on their people skills, especially if she expects first timers to come back. Shake didn't matter after that point, it was all about her customer service skills which she failed miserably at. When I got home to eat, I noticed the "bacon" looked funny so pulled it out. Definitely not pork, no crisp factor whatsoever and the color was off (my guess turkey bacon) so ask first before you add on. The Burger patty was not cooked to order even though I noted it (as website claims they do), there was a small leaf of lettuce in there, a few onions chopped and mixed with condiments, a few pickles, and had 1 tomato slice. I tried making it better by combining bites of my burger with the tots but they were undercooked which was very disappointing considering I paid over $10 for the burger alone and another $5 for the tots (no drink so note that). If you are looking for a great burger for similar price, I'd recommend going to Thirsty Lion or Bar Louie. If you want to pay a lot of money for horrible customer service and sloppy excuse for a burger meal, then by all means go for it. read more

My Overall Rating - 2 1/2 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - Wayback is located in a strip mall along a newly developed area in Irving. It has you're typical fast casual setup with registers to take your order and plenty of seating. The drinks are self-serve, you can see the staff working behind the counter (like In-N-Out), and the restaurant is clean. Nothing else really stands out. 1/2 Star. Service - The staff is very friendly and welcoming, but it was a bit slow getting our order. They have just opened, so you can tell they are going through some growing pains. My chips came out first by themselves, but then they took them back b/c they are supposed to serve it with the burger. We had a pretty decent sized group with different order combinations, but the one theme that remained the same was the slow speed. 1/2 Star. Food - I'll start with the good: I had the Wayback Classic (double-meat + cheese) "Our Way" with homemade chips. The patties were a very good size but a bit under seasoned. The soft bun was lightly toasted and the toppings were fresh. The homemade chips were fresh and not greasy. It was served a little on the room temperature side (they originally took it back).
