When you charge someone for a combo meal... maybe let the person know there are no fountain drinks available and no bottled drinks available as a backup... The soda machine was down, the ice tea dispensers were off and empty and the lemonade machines were turned off with lemonade inside... who knows for how long? This place is much better than a five guys. Five guys suck like chick filet and those with no taste bud prefers those two. As for way back burger, it's pretty good. I like their onion rings and fried cheese curd. The chili cheese fries are bland and poorly seasoned. I like to swing by this place on my way back from rehoboth beach after a fishing trip. Only complain are slow service and flies.. lots of flies.. bathroom is most definitely cleaners than royal farms and Wawa or five guys, lol. A 5 Guys "wanna-be" that makes a barely decent burger at a over-premium price that's just disappointing. I generally love spiced fries/tots, but these "cajun" tots had SO much spice, they were basically inedible. Patties are cooked hard, but not very juicy. Toppings are "there", but barely, and our order had several mistakes (missing toppings). Two burgers, tots & onion rings via Doordash clocked in at $50 - and that's WITH Dash-pass and a $3 discount. A small step above my experiences at 5 Guys. Burgers are made to order. The staff doesn't say much, just enough, I liked them. The restaurant and cooking area appeared very clean as well. These are thin burgers that get smashed, think smash burger. So if you are looking for a rare burger, I didn't find it here. Thicker steakhouse burgers are my preference. But I did find a good burger here nonetheless. I ordered the Big Easy burger which comes with a creole remoulade, bacon, lettuce, and tomatoes. It's a limited time burger and it's delicious. It cost $10. The full size fries, which were the largest size, was $4. They didn't load up the fries like at some of these smash burger type places. But the fries were fresh and good. read more

This is a zero star restaurant. Been here several times. Food was generally ok; not so much this last time. Customer service is horrible and going downhill. The employees couldn't do a worse job of making their customers feel welcome. They just look at you like "Why are you bothering me?" and don't even greet you. Whoever runs this place needs to find another line of work. This was my last time eating there. Some friends and I ordered for takeout. Somewhere along the way, the cheese on my burger had disintegrated. I almost needed a magnifying glass to find the onions and mushrooms on it. Good food but I was had terrible service the last time I was there. When I went there in the past I was greeted and happily served. Last time I went there it was Tuesday the 26th in the last afternoon. I had just come from the gym wearing my police themed workout shirt because I am going to school for Law enforcement and I had law enforcement in my family so I wear it. The guy running the register did not greet at the door as usual, just had a whatever attitude and even refused to get me my cup. The other guy saw I did not have a cup and told the other guy, "Aren't you going to give her a cup." His words were, "I'm not going to give her one." And he stormed in the back. Waited twenty minutes for two cheeseburgers and small order of soggy fries. So much for fast food. Wife and I each had a burger and split the fries. Both of us said well that really sucked. Great burgers. Vanilla shake was good. Tater tots were meh. Had the classic and rodeo. The classic was so good and filling that I could have skipped the tater tots. Burger patties tasted like real meat. Burger was fresh and juicy. Was a bit greasy, but in a good way, and what we were looking for. I understand why they call it way back burger. I really did have the feeling I was having a good old fashioned burger. I think we ate our burgers in less thank 5 minutes. Service was AWESOME. The server explained the options and got our order to perfection. He also read my mind while we were waiting for our order and asked if I wanted my shake while I was waiting. Yessssss! I ordered a hot dog and when I got home my hot dog had a half a bun. Like WTF am I supposed to do with half a bun???!!! I am very fearful of this generation of young kids working because they have no customer service skills or integrity in their work. I mean, who would think this is Ok to serve a customer???!!! I just cannot understand why employees don't value good customer service but yet they want to have a tip jar asking for tips. They are a new and clean facility. It's a small place that specializes in mainly burgers, fries, and shakes. They can get busy at the start of the weekend. The staff are friendly and attentive. They are usually pretty quick with the orders too. You can call ahead, order from the app or stop in and eat. The have cute little diner style tables to eat on. As far as the food goes. It's tasty! The burgers are good with an endless combination of toppings to choose from. They don't charge you extra for the toppings either. The onions are not round or whole on your burger. They are chopped onions. So that's different. The fries are traditional medium sized fries. They also have the choice of grilled or breaded chicken sandwiches and hotdogs. read more

I've been to Wayback Burgers in Newark, Delaware. The place was clean, and it had a fun sort of feel to it. And, the burgers were good. The burgers and onion rings at the Milford, Delaware, Wayback Burger were greasy and tasteless. The onion rings were also greasy. But that's what happens when they're cooked at 345 degrees, which I was told was their "suggested" temperature. Go to McDonald's. read more

My first time ever at the Milford, Delaware location. It was a very good experience! The gentleman taking the orders was very friendly and our food came out quickly. I ordered the Cheeesy burger. It was cooked perfectly (not dried out and bland like you find at a fast food joint). The lettuce and tomatoes were fresh - not like they had been sitting around forever and wilted. The facility was very clean and neat, even around the drink section which can get sloppy and sticky. Two others in my party ordered steak sandwich and fries and commented on how good the food was. There is a good variety when it comes to drinks - fresh brewed iced tea (sweet and unsweetened), your regular soda machine with coke, etc., and a variety of low or no calorie fruit drinks for those watching their sugar intake. I ordered a create your own single w/ fries for the kid and after looking over the menu I decided to give the "Big Easy" w/Cajun tots a chance. I drove 20 mins for this meal and I would drive 20 more cause after that first bite I knew I had a winner. Awesome job!!! Food was good, milkshake was amazing but service a bit slow due to short staffing. We ordered a veggie burger, chicken fingers, buffalo chicken wings & a vanilla milkshake. The food was better than fast food and served hot. We did the online ordering and called when we arrived. After being placed on hold for 4 min I just walked into the place and got in line. I had to wait another 5 min in line to get our food. The worker at the counter was working hard, juggling taking in-person orders, phone orders and passing out food. There were 2 workers making the food. Having a fourth person working during a busy lunch hour would have made the system much more efficient. I have a sensitive stomach so it's really nice that I can choose what toppings toget on my burger. Horrible experience. No customers I'm there Byrne when I entered. Order taker, Lydia (according to receipt) couldn't keep her mask up and was too busy talking to other workers to hear my order. Repeated several times. Placed order then added drink and fries. She didn't tell me they only had tea, lemonade or black cherry soda - all other flavors (coke products) were out of stock. Ordered a burger with fried onions, got raw. Ordered ketchup and mustard on other and got ketchup and mayonnaise. Fries must have been left over from Wednesday and today is Friday. Overcooked, no seasoning, hard and no flavor. During cooking of meal "Lydia" wouldn't wear her mask over nose or mouth but still had it on (why bother) and she was handling food. I asked to speak to manager - if the person I spoke to was the manager the place is doomed! He never apologized for the drink selection or offered an alternative. Actually he just nodded and said nothing. Walked away from me with no apology at all. Manager was dressed with behind hanging out of pants and mask hanging down, did not observe social distancing. First visit and the last to this location. Won't be open long with this sort of customer service and respect for customers. read more

I stopped at Wayback Burgers today with my wife and daughter after I picked her up from high school. First time stopping there at my daughters urging. I ordered the classic cheeseburger combo with a hand dipped chocolate milkshake with whipped cream, my wife and daughter also ordered the classic burger combo but with other drinks, the french fries we got with the meal was fresh cut, the burgers were made with fresh meat not frozen and pattied by hand served on a briosh bun, the food I must say was excellent reminding me of the fresh burgers I had gotten when I was younger, the staff is very polite and speedy not to mention that we decided to eat inside which offers very tasteful and clean decor, I was certainly impressed and will be back, I urge people to try out this wonderful gem in Milford Delaware. read more
