It's been a hot minute since I've eaten at Hopdoddy at the Rim. It was my dinner before seeing an early screening of Shelter at the movie theater near it. I got the double bacon jam burger and a regular side of fries. The burger was good not great. It was about $12 and the fries were $5. The had good flavor,but it wasn't amazing. The fries were seasoned perfectly. It wasn't too salty. It was just right. The service was good and fast. It's a place I would recommend once in a while,but not often. read more

First impressions matter, and this place gets it wrong from the start. The entire setup is basically glorified fast food: you order at the counter, grab your own drinks, and have your food dropped off with little to no interaction. There's no real service here--just a transaction. For the prices they charge, the food is seriously underwhelming. The burgers look small and unimpressive, especially when they arrive on oversized plates that only highlight the lack of value. The fries are aggressively over-seasoned to the point where you can't even taste the potato--just salt and spice. Nothing about the meal justifies the cost. What's most frustrating is that they expect tips for a dining experience that barely differs from a place like McDonald's. If you're going to charge premium prices, there should be actual service and food quality to match. This place delivers neither. read more

Well this place was busy and for good reason. It was a beautiful day and they have a nice patio. The staff were quick and helpful. And the food was delicious. Our burgers were hot fresh and juicy. The Parmesan truffle fries were sure tasty, but a tad over cooked. But there are so many burgers that I want to try now. The bathroom was also clean and approved. Absolute phenomenal service at HOPDODDY they saved the night!! Always a great experience!! My friend and I went to La Cantera to enjoy evening out. He recommended we go to Postino. Terrible choice. It was an absolute terrible experience at 'Postino The Rim'. The service was disgusting. nobody smiled just a bunch of rude ass teenagers. After thinking to ourselves " maybe it's us" we tried to shake it off and enjoy the evening. Nothing. The staff at 'Postino The Rim' lacked training, they lack enthusiasm no smiles, made us feel as if we were offending them by ordering specific drinks (lime with water, please easy on the ice) seemed like a lot for them, extremely rude and disgusting way they treat guests. Immediately, I knew HOPDODDY would save the day AND THEY DID! I am not surprised! Brandon and Chris were absolutely phenomenal. You looked around and saw the staff functioning as an absolute machine. They were enjoying their time at work. Smiling at everyone who walked through the door. Quality quality quality , and I haven't even mentioned the wagyu. Solid and tasty burgers, whether you order classic or some of their special creations. Fries are second to none, although you'll pay more here than at P. Terry's. Small but broad selection of draft beers. The one odd thing is the service. You order at a counter, and we agree with a previous reviewer that some suggestions and explanations of the menu variations and some friendly general salesmanship would be an improvement. You are then assigned a table number, which you find yourself, and after a reasonable wait (usually) somebody brings your drinks, and perhaps a third person brings your burgers and fries. Who to tip? How much? You just have to guess in advance if you pay by card at the cash register when you order. Or else leave a cash tip on the table, the old-fashioned way, if the service is good. If I were management, I'd install a QR code tipping system. read more

Great food but very expensive. We ordered two hamburgers, two diet cokes and one shared order of fries: bill was $52.00. The breakdown was the burgers ranged from $12.00 to $15.00, our fries were $8.50 and the diet cokes were $3.50 each then the cheapest tip on the screen was 18%. Maybe I could have asked to skip the tip as I know many places are using the tips to pay their folks more and have the customers shoulder that burden. But the food was very good! read more

A great day to try something new! The food came out super fast! Was expecting to wait a bit longer than we did! We both had a beer, and it came out in a big chalice that kept it chilled while sitting outside! The Truffle parm fries came out hot and had lots of flavor, and the truffle sauce was so rich and full of that delicious truffle flavor!! The hubby has the hot honey & spicy sage sweet potato fries, he really liked them, he's not a fan of them being drenched, as the ones at the bottom of the bowl got soggy. Chicken strips came out piping hot and had great flavor of its own, heavy on the pepper which I like! Chipotle ketchup, and their BBQ sauces were super delicious! Wow how I wish the Captain Caviar would be on the permanent menu-- such a big crispy chunk of cod, perfectly cooked--with slaw, a heavy dose of amazing pickles, tartar sauce, and caviar sauce. What a great burger bar, burgers are large delicious and not overly expensive. If your in the mood for something spicy I recommend the El Diablo great spice level and what a great flavor. So my teen had the goodnight and loved everything about it. I had the buffalo bill with mushrooms, carmelized onion, creamy goat cheese. We got fries and I had a bananas foster shake. My favorite thing at Hopdoddy is their sweet potato fries with their dipping sauce. They are crispy and have a tasty spice and salt topping. The burgers are good too. I had the classic with bacon, cheddar and crispy onions added. It was cooked to my preference and was delicious, though it seemed a little smaller than I remembered. My husband had the Cadillac Wagyu burger and regular fries. They were both good, though all the salt for his fries seemed to be in the bottom of the bowl. I tried the mini chocolate shake, which was the only thing I didn't like. It was very chocolaty, but had a strange consistency that reminded of melted ice cream. read more

Big foodie from Jax fl, was recommended this place and it exceeded our expectations. We started with the Parmesan truffle fries and hot honey and sage sweet potato fries. I recommend trying both. I want to remake them when I get home. Hot honey is lil spicy so I got ranch and it was perfect. Also if you don't like truffle the fries come with it on the side. I got the chicken tenders and they were good. Crispy and tender, they have good ranch. Next time might get them with the hot honey. Family tried the cadillac and double bacon jam. I would go with the double bacon jam it was so yummy. Definitely recommend hitting this place. Our plates were clean after and anything we didn't eat came home with us lol. Went for the burger bowl- El Diablo sans cheese. For a $1 more, the burger is served on a bed of greens. Rest of the table ordered classics and Llano Poblano. And we shared a large order of sweet potato fries. The sweet potato fries were delicious! Seasoned nice and served in a large metal bowl. Complimentary self serve condiment area with some interesting sauces. One burger order was sent back to be adjusted and our server promised me more chiles, but forgot.. walked up to counter to get more. Although the kale salad was fresh, the El Diablo burger was dry and slightly overcooked. Everyone else at the table enjoyed their burgers. We ordered the Mother Nature burger as is and the Bacon double jam burger minis the onions and tomatoes and a side of regular fries. Both burgers were made to order, sweet potato fries were lightly salted and crispy but the regular fries were just ok almost stale like but that is not the norm there. Let me set the scene: it's a Saturday night, I'm about to go to somewhere 8 minutes down the road, and I decide to get a snack at this location. Due to the staff getting slammed by customers, I waited for over 20 minutes before the food got here. I managed to get a refund but just as I did the food was finished and served. I ordered a chicken lollipop with a kale salad. The lollipops were okay and the salad was marginally better.The vibe would be better if it probably wasn't so packed. The food was mediocre for the price. During our visit they were out of normal buns and we were offered alternative buns of GF and Wheat. We opted for GF and received an up charge for both buns. There was no disclaimer that we would receive an up charge. The wait for our food was an hour before we got our fries, then an additional 10 minutes for our burgers. When we received our burgers, one came with wheat and one with GF. We were not happy paying 50 dollars for food that wasn't what we wanted and an extreme wait time. We came in at around 1:45pm last Saturday and the place was packed . My husband lined up and ordered our food , I ordered the smashed burgers. While hubby ordered the ahi tuna burger as well as to share Parmesan truffle French fries . He finished ordering 157 pm based on the printed receipt . In 7 minutes the truffle fries was delivered and it was newly cooked fresh from the deep fryer . We were pretty hungry we started eating all the fries which is very delicious and it's one of my favorite fries ever . The burgers we ordered took so long which was another 25 minutes and I'm glad I ordered the smash burgers because were so good . Very juicy, full of flavor , it had different textures with the caramelized onions and the crunchy onions and the gooey cheese . My husband felt that the ahi tuna burger was very underwhelming and he doesn't like wasabi which if he only knew about it he would have just ordered a different burger . All in all service was very slow but the food was still amazing . I'm not a big burger fan as I'm more of seafood person but for the first time I truly enjoyed the Okie Dokie Smashed burger . I tried their other burgers like the Good Night Good Cause burger but the Okie Dokie Smash burger hands down is now my new favorite. read more
