We were driving on 81 north to Manassas when the air conditioning started blowing warm air. Then the low battery light came on. Then some dash lights went out. We knew something was wrong and were just before the Christiansburg exit, so I quick looked on yelp and saw Ashton's Place not far with a 5 star review. So I started calling and Ashton answered and as I was on the phone explaining, the car stopped completely and we just made it into a little store just down the road from Ashton's. He said stay there, I'll walk down to you. He came with a portable battery & got us started. We drove to his shop and he took a look right away, and told us what it would cost and how long he estimated, which would put it past his closing time. He asked if we had somewhere to stay overnight; he assured us he would try and get it done or if he couldn't that night, definitely the next morning. He even recommended a hotel (which we loved!) and asked his coworker, Joe, to drive us there! Near the hotel was a restaurant we were eating. Halfway through dinner he called to say it was ready! They had stayed after closing to finish it. He even brought it to us at the restaurant! I don't know about you, but I've never had better service than that! She changed the tire and dropped it off. The tire wasn't able to be repaired, so they matched the current tires she had (from M&M), changed it out, and had it ready quickly. As far as Towing, I have had two cars towed by them and the drivers were always great. I also…read morethought they may be good for auto repairs and have had cars to them at least 4 times. Prices seemed high but I figured for the convince of location was worth it. This is until the last time I had a problem. Coming home from work the car lost power and called for a tow. When he arrived he put on the jumper cables and sparks flew out like I have never seen from just a jump. Battery would not hold charge and he said he thought it was the alternator-so had him take it to shop and install new alternator. Got car when when finished and went to work. That night, the exact same thing happened and same driver came and tried to jump and more extreme sparks out of battery and this time he said that "the battery is to small for the car" so back it went and had new battery installed. This time when I picked it up the windows, radio, rear break lights and dash board lights were not working. Back to their shop it went. I called the next morning to check to see if it had been looked at and was told "havnt had time" waited a day and still nothing so i just said forget it and picked it up. A co-worked said "it sounds like he fried the battery and/ or blew fuses when he jumped it". So took it down the road to another mechanic and he fixed it within 2 hours and said the TOTAL CAR CARE seemed to have blown the fuses when jumping,and said I probably didnt need the alternator nor the battery- they are crooked and overpriced

I SINCERELY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS AUTO SHOP…read more I own Honda Accord 2021 Sport. I started getting a bunch of warnings on my car such as TPMS, Breaking System, Sensors, Lights etc... I went to them, and explained the problem to them very thoroughly. They made me pay 250$ to run a FULL diagnostic on the car to figure out the cause of the problem. Once it was done I got told that I needed to replace the tires in the back IN ORDER to fix the problem presented to them. So I approved the repairs and paid 1375$ adding the fact that i got charged an extra 200$ for some whit locks. Once the tires got changed the car was given back to me and I was assured that the problem has been resolved. I drove the car for about 0.3 miles and got the same warnings as before. I bring the car back they run another test and I'm being told that when they ran the diagnostic a second time and found out that my gas pedal was faulty and did not show up on their computer... So they told me that it needed to be changed in order to fix my initial problem, cost me about 422$. I was initially promised a reduced price at 250$ but the next day I was told that the charge would be 422$ because of the cost of said gas pedal. They replace the gas pedal, and give me the car telling me the car is fine now and all the warnings have been fixed. I was guaranteed that the car was tested. I drove the car once more and encounter the same problem. As I'm typing this, I went back to their shop today to ask for a refund, due to their inability to fix my problem and being charged for repairs that have NOT FIXED my problem whatsoever. I was denied my refund under the guise that they have already done work on the car even though they have not fixed my problem. Long story short, I've been charged for repairs, been guaranteed that those repairs were going to fix the problem made aware to them. Just to end up back to square one with the my initial problem and spending close 1800$ on useless repairs. I'm sharing this story in hopes that other people NEVER go to this shop. Predatory business, overpriced estimates, no guarantee that your car will be fixed after they have worked on it.

They add things that "need" to get done while doing the work without any authorization from the customer. Additionally, they had my car for FIVE weeks. Needless to say I won't be going back.

I came to McCoy because I had to get a state inspection. Which they were able to pull into the bay…read moreright away. After about 1 hour(state inspection should only take about 20-30) mins they told me my exhaust hanger needed repair. The cost of the hanger was $9.95 and it would take about 30 mins of welding and the labors cost for the 30 mins of welding was $55 and they could do it right now. I told them to go ahead. Once I gave them the go ahead my car set in the bay unattended for 15-20mins. Then they had to go in my car and remove something which I gave them the all clear to remove based of them saying it needed to be taking down in order to pass inspection. Now the problem came with the actual welding itself. After they removed the thibgs from the inside of my car the mechanic walked away from the car again. He then came back walked away again and came back. This happened about 3 or 4 times. He then finally lifted the car up and walked away again. He came back looked under the car and walked away again. This happen another 2 times. Then he brought the welding machine over and walked away once more. Then welded the piece which took all of 5 seconds. Then proceeded finally put the car down. Now when she originally told me the labor cost was for the 30 mins of welding labor. Now when I came in and mentioned it only took 5 seconds they then said oh thats for the welding, the machine, welder etc. I don't believe that because after I mentioned it the fellow next to her said oh did he do diagnostic. I said no just state inspection. Then a couple minutes later a guy called bother her and the fellow next to her in the back. They were back there for about 5-7 mins and then thats when she gave me the story about the $55 was not just for the labor but the machine, welder, etc. What it seems like to me is they tried to make it seems like it would be 30 mins and tried to drag it out to be 30 mins to justify the cost and what they told me but when I called it out the story cahnged. I would be very weary of bringing my car back here. If I hadn't been watching what they were doing I would have believed them based on when I actually got my car back. I came in a little before 9:20am and didnt leave until after 11:25am.
