Waitress came by 3 times, to tell us about specials and open our wine, take our order, and then right after we our food came. She said she would be back to check and never came. Salad was average at best, blue cheese was not crumbled but a paste. We ordered the porter house steak and it was way barely medium but very over cooked on the sear side. It looked dried out and top layer was like beef jerky. The support staff handled the rest of the meal including our check. We ordered the scallop appetizer special, $38 for three bacon wrapped scallops! So $240 for three scallops, average salad, porter house steak , mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. Came here on a Saturday night, had the salad, lobster bisque, rib eye (medium), onion rings, mashed potatoes, and crab cake. The salad was really good, sweet and light yet flavorful. Lobster bisque was good but a little salty for me. For the rib eye we ordered medium, but it came out rare so we had to send it back to cook some more. It was much better the second time. Lobster tail had a really strong smell like Ammonia, I couldn't get over the smell so I sent it back. Onion rings were good, it didn't have too much batter which we liked. Mashed potatoes were alright, I don't think they added anything much into it just potatoes and water. Crab cake had a lot of crab meat in it but was a little bit too salty. First time and last time!!! Went here for are Anniversary dinner. First thing the bread that they severed was stale. The second thing I ordered a French onion soup it literally tased like mop water not even joking I wish I was. Then to top it off the porterhouse steak for two was the worst steak I ever had in my life by far. The sides forget about it. We didn't even eat anything but the salad. Inedible!!! Overall, fell pretty short of expectations, mostly driven by the service. Though the servers were very polite/friendly, they were not very good and essentially lacked experience, esp when you are paying $70 for a steak. Had to ask for silverware, water, remind them to fill the water, never checked in to see how the food was, difficult to flag them down, even tough it wasn't too busy, and mainly, my wife requested her steak without butter due to an allergy, but they cooked both that way, so my steak lacked any flavor. Our first time dining here. Note, it's a BYOB. Ordered the clams casino to share for appetizer, was very good. The strip of bacon on top is a nice touch, instead of crumbled bacon. SO disappointed!! I've been here several times and I won't be returning! The service and the sides were great. That is why I gave it 2 stars, without these it would have been 1 star. The porterhouse for 3 was absolutely awful, poor quality with way too much grizzle and fat, also was way undercooked. I love the flavor that fat gives to a good piece of meat and don't mind it one bit, BUT this porterhouse was BAD. Also no char on the meat at all. Seems like it was rushed! I have to say. This used to be my favorite local steakhouse till our visit tonight. I work in sales and over the last 2 or 3 years I have recommended this place to more people then I can think of. I will never ever return to this place. It was by far the worst experience I can ever think of at a restaurant. It started off fine. Had a reservation. We were seated quickly. The included salad came out about 20 minutes later but we had to ask for napkins and silverware. Who seats people at a table and brings food without at least having napkins and silverware to actually eat with. I went to use the restroom and there were only a couple of paper towels to dry your hands with, and a crushed roll of toilet paper just resting on the railing but not actually on the roller. After returning from the rest room the woman sitting at the table next to us returned from the ladies room and was upset and telling her husband that there was no toilet paper in the ladies room. When our waiter walked by we told him the restrooms need to be restocked and he said they would take care of it. Just wait! It gets better. All the tables around us seemed upset and constantly looking around as if something was wrong. Well as time went on we start to realize that nobody is getting any food. As people were finally getting their food almost every single table either had no silverware or salt & pepper or had to ask for napkins. We have been there for almost an hour and a half and asked what was going on? All this time , all we got was the included salad for two. We ordered the porterhouse for 2 which is only 1 steak. How long does it take to cook 1 piece of meat??? After 2 hours we have had it. I asked the bus boy to get our waiter because I wanted to tell him we were leaving. Of course when he comes over he has our steak. At this point we weren't leaving because we waited so long and were so hungry we decided to stay and actually eat what we came for. Steak usually comes sizzling. This one didn't. It was ok, but just ok for a $109.00 steak. After eating and drinking our wine and a few glasses of water I had to use the restroom again. I washed my hands and what do you think happened. Of course, no paper towels to dry your hands. Awesome right? Even after bringing it to their attention. I walked back out into the dining room looking for our waiter who's name I haven't mentioned because all this is on the owners and the management not him. I don't see him in the dining room so I head for the kitchen thinking he was in there. I peaked in the kitchen and it was a absolute mess. Piled up dirty dishes everywhere. Looked like something out of show Kitchen Nightmares. As I'm heading for my table I see him and show him my wet dripping hands and say really man?? There still isn't paper towels to even dry your hands. Come on! I asked for the check. I'm totally disgusted at this point and just want to get the hell out of there. The place to which I sang their prayers and recommended to so many over the last few years has just totally turned my stomach and disappointed. When the check came we let him know how disappointed we were and how I couldn't believe that they didn't even offer a complimentary cappuccino or desert to split or something? Obviously management could care less so I will never spend another dollar in this place again nor will I ever recommend it to anyone anymore. It's a sad day to be honest. Came here on a Sunday night. My wife had heard some Good things about the place recently so we took ourselves and our nephew out for a graduation diner. The calamari was awesome, it wasn't rubbery like what you get at a chain restaurant. I had the French onion soup which was outstanding and my wife had a salad which was solid. My wife and daughter split the filet mignon and I had the ribeye. Both cooked to perfection. Sides were smaller than I expected but solid in taste. The big downside to the place, the cleanliness was sub par. Men's Bathroom was disgusting, the table was sticky and not wiped down, and the utensils needed a good shining. For the price we paid, the place ahould have been immaculate as most premier high end stakehouses should be. Sorry I am a couple of weeks out but the meal is very memorable. Let's start with it's a Steakhouse. As such it doesn't disappoint! I had the the bone in ribeye medium rare and it was perfectly cooked. I already expected that as I had been there once before. As my pictures show, the meal was perfectly executed. The only thing I would recommend is to develop your own Wayne Steakhouse Steak Sauce instead of serving Peter Luger's (too sweet in my opinion). What I was surprised by was the Sea Bass my friend had. It was quite a large portion and it was grilled perfectly. My friend couldn't eat it all. Dessert was a German Apple Strudel with Schlag and a side of vanilla ice cream. Perfectly done. The strudel was flakey and tasty and the Schlag was delicious. All in all, Wayne, NJ has a gem in their backyard! I will return! The service was excellent because they were very attentive and engaged. read more

This is one of my favorite restaurants. Steaks are modeled after Peter Lugers. I have been to Lugers many times, and these steaks are pretty close! Sides and deserts are always terrific, as well, and they throw in a salad and onion rings with your meal. And it's a BYO! Service is usually excellent (can be a bit slow on a very busy night, as, like all restaurants , they have difficulty retaining waitstaff since Covid). So a little bird told me that there was a restaurant in New Jersey that gave you the feel and experiencing of the food at the famous Peter Luger Steak House in New York. Once I heard this, I had to try it! If I had came here randomly, I would have found out right away this was a Peter Luger-like place due to the fact that the Peter Luger sauce is on the time and once you open their menu, they publicize that people here used to work at Peter Luger. I ordered the appetizer bacon, similar to Peter Luger's and the Porterhouse for 3, also similar to Peter Luger's. Do not get me wrong, the bacon and porterhouse are good, well very good actually. But do they live up to par with the quality at Peter Luger?!? As you would expect, it does not. I vividly remember the appetizer bacon and steak tasting better at Peter Luger. I feel the appetizer bacon here is much smaller. The steak comes with a side of onion rings, which was not to my liking due to the onion rings being soggy, thus lacking crispiness that I was expecting. The restaurant itself is pretty small, but clean and you would absolutely miss this place if you were just looking for a place to eat. A billiard hall is on top of this restaurant. The price here is well, Peter Luger expensive to say the least. I feel that the prices are not justified by the fact that eating at Peter Luger is an experience and that aspect is lacking here. If the price was cheaper and in a better location, I would try and come here more often because the steak is very good. Here's the deal. Peter lugers is the ulitmate porterhouse- the steak by which all other high end steaks are measured- considered by most to be the best in the WORLD. Wayne Steakhouses dry aged prime porterhouse is damn close! As far as I'm concerned, that's the only reason to eat here. Dont get me wrong- they do other things well too, but you come here for a rare or medium rare, world-class steak. Period. The guy who complained about the char and the sizzling plate clearly doesn't get it. That's how a great NYC steakhouse steak is supposed to be served. A nice charred crust with a pink/red juicy, tender center. Well aged steak has an earthy, buttery taste and mouthfeel, and this steak has it big time. Expensive? Yes. Worth it? Hell yes! Save your money on the wine because they're byo, but splurge on the steak when you want a true, near Lugers quality porterhouse. read more

When walking in to this particular steakhouse we waited a bit (the place was not busy saw many empty tables) but finally had a woman came-out to seat us, while there were two young waiters passing by us as if we weren't there. We were seated and honestly my first impression was that the furniture was worn to my surprise for a "high end steakhouse". For the price I had expected better. We were offered water ordered Pellegrino (that came quickly) then we waited and waited and waited while the young waiters tended to the tables with more than 4 people. From my years of experience dining in many places both here and outside of the US, what starts wrong will continue to be so. I did not want to spend my money when I could go to a more reputable steakhouse where you are tended quickly and professionally. Word of advice, please instruct your young waiters to tend to each guest equally because patrons are watching. When we saw the young waiter pass by again, without an acknowledgment, we left and paid for the Pellegrino we ordered. Went to the Wayne steakhouse for the first time with friends the other night. It's a BYO steakhouse which I have never seen before so we brought a few bottles of wine which they opened for us. Steaks are expensive but assume that's because they aren't making anything on the drinks. Ordered a filet and some sides. Steak came out undercooked but was on a steaming hot plate and already sliced? Haven't seen that before and not sure I enjoyed. Why put it on a plate that is sizzling? Keeps cooking and makes the plate a fire hazard. Honestly the steak just wasn't that good, not $55 good anyway. Sides were ok, service was ok. Place is pretty banged up and restrooms could use some work. Overall a very overpriced evening for an average meal. Definitely won't be back. read more

After living in Wayne for 40+ years we finally made it to the Wayne Steakhouse. In all seriousness it was a few restaurants before the Wayne Steakhouse taking over and I am happy to say it is probably here to stay. We went with friends who are regulars and love that they knew what to order. We started with mozzarella and tomato appetizer, lump crab meat and scallops wrapped in bacon. The scallops were amazing. I love the super fresh tomatoes with just the right amount of mozzarella cheese. I did not try the crab meat but everyone said it was great. Steak for Four! Such fun! Really delicious. Cooked perfectly, and tender and flavorful! I really loved both the taste and the presentation. Au jus flowed to the bottom of the tilted plate so the waitress could add some to your already delicious steak. We also ordered the button mushrooms, potatoes and broccoli. Three veggies! And all delicious. We ended with Key lime pie and their amazing special signature cream. Don't miss this and be sure to save room bc the portions are plenty. Pros- Delicious food Nice variety on menu Great service BYO Cons - Loud, so if you are looking for quiet and romantic not the place. Going with fiends who like to eat and laugh, this is the place Portions - nothing for the light steak eater. I was looking for a smaller filet and 12 ounce was the smallest. Not a problem for most but that would have been my choice had we not done the steak for four. Which btw we devoured. Gourmet - good quality but not the most original side dishes. Notes: Price - you get what you pay for. Great quality comes at a price. Be ready to spend a little. And not overpriced. Just a slight warning. We visited Wayne Steakhouse house Sunday November 10th, 2019. The waiter/hostess seated our party of 3, but did not mention that the heat was broken until we asked if the AC was on. I sat through the whole dinner in my coat. No apology. No discount or free hot beverage was offered for this inconvenience. The porterhouse priced at 125 dollars for two was absolutely the worst piece of meat I ever ate at a restaurant. I'm almost sure I could have gotten a better steak at outback. Totally fail. The waiter took our bottle of Caymus in the back to decanter it. No waiter ever takes the wine away from the table to open it. It's just bad form. The service was lacking overall. So for a byob and a bill of $200.00 - my expectation are that the food should be amazing. I'm going this one star because I can't give zero stars. read more

Was very disappointed when I returned home with the leftovers and more then half the meat that was left on the plate was not in the to go container. The food was great. The staff - for the most part - were great. I went yesterday with friends and family for a birthday. My brother was turning 30. We got there at 5pm on the dot as that is what we reserved. The table wasn't ready until about 5:15pm - which is fine. Not a big deal. My whole party hadn't even arrived yet. The lady who tended to us was VERY nice. Very amiable. Very pleasant. However, towards the end, the establishment began to pick up more traffic, and we had just been finishing up dessert. Specifically, my brothers bday cake. No sooner than we were done, did another gentleman with a thick Eastern European accent come to us and asked us to leave because other people were waiting. I consider this tacky and rude behavior. Never in my entire dining experience have I ever been asked to vacate a table no matter how late it's gotten. And, frankly, it soured the entire experience. Dirty Bathrooms, Bad Service, Rotten Lobster tails. ZERO STARS. Asked to speak with a manager regarding the rotten lobster tail or poisoned food (smelled like ammonia or cleaning products). Our meal was over $300 for 2 people and no one came out but our waiter to say "you ate a lot of the lobster, I can offer you coffee or tea for dessert." Paid, left. Called the health department. They should be shut down for serving rotten food. Didn't pour our wine. Didn't take away the extra serving plates for 20 minutes. Did not refill our small waters. Bacon wrapped scallops underdone. Took our forks when he took the other serving platters. Left an extra water glass on the table. There was 1 other table of 2 in the restaurant other than us. We did not complain about anything stated except for the $100 surf and turf. And no management on duty or just wouldn't come out? I would never ever go back. read more
