Waypost Deli, indeed you come to my rescue... in terms when I am craving for something aka FOOD. Its the ONLY food deli in Ameristar that is opened 24 hours, while I was there with the ladies, March 22nd - 24th 2012. Waypost Deli offers several food fixings such as Sandwiches, Pizzas, Chicken Wings, Snacks, Fresh Fruits, Beverages at a COST! You order at the counter, get your receipt, wait for your order and you get your food piping HOT if you order the HOT FOODs, that is Good in my books. While you wait for your order, you can see the line cooks all in action cooking the stuffs since its an open kitchen. One of my lady friends mentioned that the Buffalo Wings (12 pieces of wings) ($11.49) are GOOD! To me, its GOOD since its FRIED and you get it Piping HOT. As for the sauce, it DOES NOT WOW me at all, but I am OK with the WINGS. How I wish they can offer "variety" in terms of the Chicken Wings and other food. Another order I recall was the Jalapeno Poppers (8 pieces) ($6.29). YES, its just Jalapeno Poppers, I like it, since I like Jalapeno Poppers for my snack @ 2:15 am in the morning! YES, it seems that since its in a CASINO, they can OVERCHARGED everyone, but hey you got to eat something right?? I never come up to Black Hawk and say, "Man, I really need to hit up that Waypost Deli." It's good food, but I come there because I need some sustenance for my day or night of gambling. It's there, reasonably priced, and I don't need a full sit down experience. Fast casual is just what I need when the stummy (that's a combination of stomach and tummy, if you're wondering) is grumbling but I need to get back to my video poker before someone takes my seat. The menu has something for everyone, whether you're in the mood for a burger and fries, a smothered breakfast burrito, or a turkey sandwich. And let me tell you, if you opt for the smothered burrito, expect some spicy green chile to kick you back a bit. I am IN LOVE with spicy green chile, and this place does not disappoint. Weaklings need not apply. The pizzas are tasty and huge. Expect to split it with at least one or two other people (or, if you're like me, eat half and then eat the rest in your hotel room as a late night snack. Shhhh, I won't tell anyone). If you gamble enough, you can redeem food vouchers and get your food comped. Free is good, and cash is king, my friends. Otherwise, the prices aren't too outrageous for a casino café. I was able to check out the Waypost Deli for the first time early this morning after a long evening in Black Hawk. As I had received a $10 voucher, I decided to give it a try. I went with the Colorado Chile Burger, which was great - tons of Colorado chiles, pepper jack cheese, and bacon made for some pretty good eating. The menu looked pretty diverse, although I was told that it's limited during certain times of the day - everything from pizza to burgers to breakfast sandwiches. Although my meal was comped, the prices didn't look too bad, considering that it's an eatery within a casino. While the Ameristar is known as being a high-end property in Black Hawk, most of the other restaurants I've investigated there also come with high-end pricing. My only reason for not giving five stars is due to the fact that the dining room was in dire need of a cleaning - tons of unbussed tables and trash everywhere, but it was about 4am during the time of my visit, so I'm guessing they were running on a skeleton shift. After a second visit during normal hours, things were slightly better. All in all, definitely worth checking out. read more

This place actually exceeded my expectations. While I was initially disappointed as they had run out of both salad options I was hoping for.. I ended up with the hot Italian Sub and a side of sweet potato fries... these were both delicious and massive as far as portion size. Both items were cooked perfectly and presented so nicely. For a takeout casino kind of joint the Waypost does a pretty good job. Their small tacos are pretty good. I particularly like the green chili. It's pretty spicy with nice size pieces of pork. Waypost Deli is where you go in the Ameristar resort if you want a quick bite to eat. Or a late-night bite to eat. Or a casual bite to eat. It's basically a cafeteria styled eating place where you place your order at the cash register, pay, get a number, and wait for your food. While the food isn't anything crazy it definitely suffices for many needs such as a morning yogurt parfait or an late night pizza. The menu is pretty varied, containing everything from all-day breakfast items (such as a sausage-egg muffin or breakfast burrito) to salads, soup, pizza and sandwiches. It's rarely so crowded that you have to wait long in line or for your food. And they have curly fries, but you have to ask for them special. You can also get vitamin waters or Mexican cokes here. And like all the casinos in Black Hawk, fountain drinks, coffee, and tea are free from the machines where you help yourself which is awesome in my opinion. read more

The prices are fair. The food is really good. We love to come here when we stay at Ameristar. We come here at least 2 - 3 times when we stay. The friendly service is almost always great. If your looking for quality food at a fair price, this is the place. read more

Its like the cheap hooker of the Ameristar chain. It will satisfy your urges at a reasonable price without giving you an STD. Seriously though: All-american cant-go-wrong line-order sandwiches and salads. If its buffalo-style, pizza, or smushed between two slices of bread they serve it! Went here because there was literally nothing else open. The fries were undercooked and bland. The burgers were vastly overcooked and burnt. The beef tacos were so salty I couldn't eat them. I basically ate them empty with the salsa. They were out of forks, ice, and ketchup. Hopefully you won't have an awful experience?? Good luck with that. read more

Good place for a sandwich rather than a full sit down meal when visiting the casino. My burger was first rate, really good, shredded lettuce on top instead of a big wet leaf, big slice of tomato and onion, on a toasted bun. The side of fries were sort of blah, they could have been crispier. Soft drinks were free. I would go there again. read more

Excellent prosciutto pizza! I suggest you try the pizza! They have burgers, chicken fingers and other American food as well.
