I've had multiple issues which included them mistyping my zipcode so they attempted to pick up my stuff from the wrong address, ignoring my request to automatically charge me for any payments as I would be overseas and have restrictive communication (and when I finally got a hold of them when I saw a building of past due payments, they had the nerve to say they just need a verbal confirmation to charge my card.. when I had done so on two occasions), and finally they delivered my homegoods to my new address WITHOUT confirming a time when a free days prior they told me to be rest assured they would... so my stuff was delivered to a existent apartment unit. Both moves were transfers within my apartment building. In response to my request to get the same team if possible, the new three-person team had the same foreman as the previous three-person team. They once again did an excellent job - called in advance, arrived early, and worked very quickly and efficiently. The foreman planned well which items should be moved between the two apartments in each trip to minimize the number of trips and the work time. The team members were both friendly and professional. As with my previous move, the cost of the job came in well under the estimate due to the team's speedy work. My two experiences with NewRay have been a refreshing contrast to my experiences with other movers over the years. I plan to continue to use them for any future moves.

I also thought the service was a good value for the level of work they provided. What I especially appreciated was that they worked with me to find a solution when my plans changed. At one point, I was considering storing my belongings at their warehouse for less than a week. Rather than simply taking the additional business, they told me it did not make sense to move everything from the original location into warehouse storage for such a short period because it would unnecessarily increase my costs. That advice was one of the reasons I ultimately decided to use PODS instead. My moving needs did change at the last minute, which made the overall move more expensive than I had originally planned, but that was because of the changing logistics, not because they were trying to increase the price. I really appreciated that they were focused on helping me find the most practical and cost-effective solution. I would absolutely recommend them.

I booked my move a week in advance and paid a $100 deposit after being told it would guarantee my moving date and secure my spot. Then, only 3 days before my scheduled move, the manager -- I believe his name was David -- called to tell me they were fully booked for the entire week and that my move would either need to be rescheduled or canceled altogether. I made it very clear from the beginning that my apartment lease ends on the 31st and that I needed to move before then. Had this company been honest about the fact that paying a deposit did not actually guarantee service, I would have hired another moving company much earlier. Now I'm left scrambling at the last minute, despite having everything planned out. I also have to report to work in another state on the 1st, so this has created a major inconvenience and unnecessary stress. To make matters worse, speaking with them on the phone was a complete disaster. The communication was unprofessional, disorganized, and unacceptable. They agreed to refund the $100 deposit, but that does not make up for the inconvenience, stress, and potential consequences this situation may cause me. If I receive penalties from my landlord for a late move-out or face any employment-related consequences because of this company's failure to honor their commitment, I will absolutely be exploring all possible legal and consumer protection options.

The day before my move, I was told the cost would actually be over $1,100 due to a "call center mistake." I had no time to find another mover, so I was stuck paying nearly double. The franchise manager and owner both admitted the quoting issue was the call center's mistake and that there has been multiple issues with the call center company, but the best they offered was a small discount -- still well above what I was originally told. I understand labor isn't free, but it's unfair to place the burden of your internal errors on the customer. I won't be using this company again and would caution others to get all quotes in writing before booking. The movers were great, I would hire them ten times over however I would never conduct buisness with this company again after that initial experience.
