We moved an hour away and were looking for new childcare and as grandma has said repeatedly that the move was worth it just to have found Adventures in Learning. They get him to SLEEP. He comes home to us well rested. Amazing how so many infants get down for nap at the same time. He sleeps on a cot now which i can't even get to happen at home yet. They are always encouraging him to learn more, even as a young infant they would say the colors as he stacked his blocks. It is amazing all of the things he can do now that we have not taught him.

However, after touring CCY, meeting both the director and assistant director, and interacting with the teachers, I am so happy we made the switch. My child has learned so much, loves his teachers and his days in care, and while it was a rough transition (due to his age, not the facility), everyone at CCY helped us both through the process. Having issues arise at our last place wasn't ideal, but I almost see that as a silver lining, as it lead us to Children's Courtyard. Also, while it isn't a requirement for good care, the app they have is so great! You get lots of updates, its easy to communicate with staff, and you're able to change your info and make payments yourself through the app or website. It's been SO NICE to be able to do that myself, instead of having to call in somewhere. Very user friendly, and customer focused.

I can't say enough about how great the admin staff and the teachers were with him. Every day he was always smiles, having fun outside and learning with others, and having a robust meal schedule that was always rotating. There was always someone up front to make sure you were allowed in and you're always greeted when coming in and exiting the building. We always felt very secure leaving our son in their care and being able to see the care the teachers also have for the children was very reassuring. We're currently going onto our 2nd daycare after leaving Primrose just trying to get into the same ballpark the care and environment that Primrose provided. I HIGHLY recommend them.

We are extremely fortunate to have found places for both of my girls at KinderCare since they were…read moreeach 6 weeks old (now 7 months and almost 2 years old). The staff members are exceptional: they work seamlessly as a team to fill in gaps or shift around as needed. The director's door was open more often than not and I would see the Director and Assistant Director in the classrooms themselves as well. The director would often open the door for me as I struggled in with my entourage and clunky car seats. She would always reach out to me directly and consistently with billing issues, which was so very helpful as my girls' stipend was paid by DCFS and they NEVER forewarned me of issues or got back to me in a timely manner, so if it wasn't for the Director: my girls would have risked losing their spots due to non-payment. In our 18 months there so far, the 4 core teachers (from the rooms that have 0-18 mos) have remained the same. The turnover is not all bad and in my opinion I would rather have able, willing, and safe staff members there than someone who isn't doing or doesn't want to do the job! And we never lost our "Core Four" so my girls' attachment was not affected. They are extremely good at allowing EI services to be provided and for the child to removed for part of the day every week to attend a DCFS visit. It's not easy to deal with traumatized children and I feel the staff went above and beyond to show my girls they were safe, loved, and cared for. They always provided my little one with plenty of food: I can tell you confidently food is not used as a reward or punishment there: which is a big deal for me and my parenting methods! In fact, they have crackers and fresh fruit for anyone to have in their lobby. My toddler often takes 2 packages of crackers every morning and afternoon whether she eats them or not (I think it's more for comfort and control honestly): it's never been a problem. They provide lots of activities and fun little events for parents to attend! I love that kind of stuff. Finally, they are extremely sensitive and caring to home crises. My girls had a brother who was medically fragile and stayed home with a nurse in lieu of daycare due to his needs. He also went through a series of emergencies in which we were scrambling to function. Everyone was understanding and compassionate during that tumultuous time when we were under-prepared, sleep deprived, and inconsistent. My sweet boy did pass away from his conditions. Within a few days, a package was shipped to our home: signed by our KinderCare family. They gifted us a Seeds of Life memorial tree kit to plant in his honor. It thrives to this day. 18 months ago I was really nervous because KinderCare company tends to have a not so stellar reputation. Wheaton branch is definitely the exception. They really are something special.

They write a comment on every daily sheet with what my baby enjoyed. Miss Alyssa the director has been so helpful with my numerous phone calls to check up on my daughter (most places would think I am completely insane or mentally unstable). When you have a question when you pick up your child Miss Alyssa is never too busy to come and answer all your questions! My daughter has been here for almost 4 weeks and never had dirty diaper when I came to pick her up and is always fed and smiling (she will let you know if she needs a clean diaper or is hungry). I highly recommend this KinderCare with the amazing woman who are staffed here.

One…read moreis now 5 and continues to bloom under the hands-on approach of Ms Kris for Phonics, Music, and Cooking classes as well as his two most recent "primary" teachers (Ms Valerie & Ms Jenna). My other child is a waddler and took to her care givers (Ms Lisa, Ms Ginny and Ms Gupreet) so well, that it helped ease the guilt of being a working mom. :) This learning center's staff helps develop a child to socialize well and always keeps the parent apprised of progress, issues/concerns, etc., and consistently with a solution-oriented and positive approach. The facility is clean and regularly maintained (fresh coat of paint, carpeting, seal-coating blacktop parking area). There's an access code to get in and they get to know each parent as well as they get to know the child. I have complete faith that my children are cared for in a loving and engaging environment. I firmly believe the center directors (Ms Tania & Ms Michelle) foster this collaborative approach to care-giving and I continue to be in awe of how well they all shoulder the responsibility they have. This team does it with pride and tries to have fun along the way. My only frustration comes from the accounting system used by the KLC corporation. It is not user-friendly, but again, Ms Tania to the rescue to provide the paperwork I need to reconcile payments, file my tax paperwork, and manage my FSA -- helping to make my life a little easier. This daycare gives all daycares a bad rep. They play it like they do everything right but when…read morethings go wrong? It's not their fault. I will never attend nor recommend another KinderCare again as they really led me to believe something was wrong with my son when even the pediatrician said it was terrible twos. They sent me through so many hoops to where I even had my son evaluated my a speech therapist & behavior specialist. Both were stunned he was even recommended and the behavior specialist pointed out what I had been feeling but no mother wants to admit - that they are picking on him for some reason to get him out of their establishment. This daycare does not have the patience nor the skills to handle the terrible two's, especially with toddlers who have higher energy than others. The behavior they described I have never seen in my son before, especially around other kids his age. I believe they took advantage of the fact that I was more naive and new to parenthood so for awhile I just believed and even admitted to them that I relied on them for help & guidance on how to do things... but after a while it got ridiculous and the stories were not even adding up anymore. It got to the point that the coordinators were stressing me out more than helping that I pulled him out and never looked back. My sons are now in another school with the same sized class environment & thriving. I can't believe I even had to request a parent teacher meeting when my child was so badly struggling...I should've been contacted from the get go rather than it all being brand new informations 2 months AFTER he transitioned into the toddler room. Just ridiculous, I feel bad for letting my son stay here so long when he was clearly not wanted. Shout out to Alexis in the infant room though, she was the best & we genuinely felt that she cared for the kids. The rest..... not so much.
