We just moved with WeHaul, and it was a very good experience! It was a bit of a difficult move- my former address was 3rd floor with no elevator, difficult to park in front of, and it was raining hard through the whole move. Additionally, I had some small items that were not really packed well enough, and they packed them very efficiently, making no issue for us. Ericson and his team took all issues in stride. As some of the other reviews say, Ericson is a bit of a drill sergeant. Be prepared for him to be short and directive with his team. However, they were super efficient, and very friendly and unintrusive with myself and my family. Ultimately, this is not a cheap service, but quality is important, and I expected hiring movers to be expensive but worth it. I would say this was definitely the case here. I have read through these other reviews and would like to make a few of my own comments. I myself have moved numerous times in the past. I have used movers quite often and prepare well and many places of different businesses find that I am a very fair person. I also read quite a lot of advices on many topics. I do my own packing with no problems after. Looking at many of those unfavorable reviews, I have these observations to make. From what I've read it seems his prices are in line with the business. While he has to cover many obvious costs he also has to cover overhead such as costs of keeping an office,electrical,heating, government taxes,send out gst and qst,, Internet use and site keeping,etc. Nor can he undercut his competitors or get into trouble. Also if he doesn't have a profit margin for himself he will end up ne not being able to support himself. Unless you are are the first move of the day they WILL run late. Expect it. It is normal. Also it is up to you to make sure you make sure he has a good place to park at both ends. Ask both landlords where they can put their truck. if it is on the street put cones or chairs there and if necessary or possible sit there. And as for the lady who cancelled one hour beforehand although she implied she was asked for the entire fee it seems he only asked for one hour's worth. I have also noticed for other businesses that sometimes when someone wants to hurt that business they will say they found a cockroach or a bedbug while most of the reviewers don't. When you contract for a move verify your details to avoid misunderstandings. When you pack don't leave anything loose or touching each other in those boxes. Don't use bags to pack unless those bags are then put into your boxes and do not contain breakables or scratchables. It also seems that those complaining about lack of what they consider proper speed Are those expecting the workers to be rushing. I also believe that what they are doing is pacing themselves so that they don't expend their energies too fast and thereby have the endurance to continue working effectively. read more

Unfortunately, even though this moving company came through a referral, I had a pretty unsavory experience with them. There were warning signals that I should have heeded, which would probably have not caused me the stress I went through. Despite booking them way ahead of time, the 9 am move was finally started at 1:00 pm which threw my entire schedule off and I ended up having to cancel other appointments because of the delays. The owner very cleverly got my son to help and although we had agreed on a 2 person job, we ended up with 3 people and my son helping, because the move started really late, and in the winter, the day's pretty much done at 4 pm. Delays meant going way over budget for the move and I wasn't happy. The only good thing was that they worked swiftly and didn't take breaks and we were able to finish the move in about 5 hours despite the large load. However, there was complete disregard to the labeling of the boxes and my very expensive stemware and other crystal pieces were broken, and there was also damage to a couple of keys on my piano, which I discovered later. On bringing this to the notice of the owner of the moving company, he moved the blame on how disorganized the move was (which I completely disagree with because everything was labeled, boxed/bagged and segregated) and that since my son was helping I should not pin the blame on them. I couldn't believe the comeback because obviously this can only come from a well-thought over strategy for shifting the blame over to the client. I wouldn't think of using them ever again, nor recommend them to my friends if customer satisfaction is what you're looking for. read more

The entire day was like a nightmare and I'm still in shock and feel sick about the price I had to pay after watching them do everything as slowly as possible, take over 20 mins to drive a less than 10 minute drive to my new residence and otherwise drag everything out so I would have to pay as much as possiblIt ended up costing $400 more than it did when I used another company the last time I moved for the exact same services. Not only that, and this is worst of all, I felt unsafe and violated in my own home (s). I am a single woman who was dealing with these three rather intimidating men on my own. The manager, Ericsson, raised his voice with me, when I dared bring up that I was concerned about the time it was taking and that they were basically refusing to complete the process of putting my bed back together although that was in our agreement. I was already CRYING at the time and he continued yelling while telling me they were dealing with me in a professional manner! Not only that, he touched my arm several times which made me very uncomfortable, there was more than one comment that made me also quite uncomfortable hints about my age etc. talking about personal things that I found extremely inappropriate and extremely unprofessional, in fact. Bottom line, do not use these movers. And especially so if you are a single woman and do not want to be harassed and verbally abused during your move. read more

Reasonably priced, focused and careful, I found Ericson to be an extremely conscientious person. He was present and though most of my things are second hand, he was careful and treated my effects like they were antiques. He was very articulate and intelligent and to the point. They worked non stop and didn't even take a break! I loved the moving advice on his webpage. He told me my move was as smooth as it was because I was well organized and not everyone is like this. Ericson and team were fantastic. The day started off a little shaky on both our parts but quickly turned around to focus on the task at hand. The team was all business. There were more items than originally documented (my fault) I under estimated how much stuff my mother had! No matter Ericson asked if I would be able to help, I said yes, and off we went. 4 hours later the move was completed, just as planned! The guys were relentless, never stopped for a break. Going up and down three flights of stairs and three floors up to the new building. I was amazed with their work ethic and professionalism. I would definitely recommend these guys. STAY CLEAR FROM THESE MOVERS!!!!!! If you don't mind having a drill sergeant in your home during a stressful time, then hire Ericsson and his crew. The owner (Ericson) assumes a role of a drill sergeant to his workers who are trying their best. He stresses them out and orders them around like they have no brain. HE complicates the move, ie "put all in one place, then we triage" in which case once the movers all left we were left putting our things in the correct room. They do not take care of your furniture (they folded our king mattress in half!! and they broke our front loader washing machine's foot - which stabilizes the loads!) nor does he respect what you want in order to making the move better. He places fear in his guys that they don't deviate from his word, which is sad, since a few of them had better ideas than he did. However, "he is the head of the operation" yet his operation is one big FAIL. When he required the extra help, he started yelling at my kid to "take this, take that".. did he pay my kid, no... yet he insisted on more $$ at the end, and unfortunately because of that none of his workers got a tip (that was on him.. sorry guys!) Giving him 1 star, is being extremely generous, however there isn't any other options. He is not to be hired if you want a less stressful move. read more

I must say that a very dreaded even turned into a much more pleasant experience than expected thanks to the crew of movers that I had. They were professional, pleasant and fun to be around. I used this moving company recently, persuaded by the extremely positive (but in retrospect, likely fabricated) reviews posted on their website. What happened next was like a bad dream. The owner, Ericson, and his 2 workers showed up over an hour late at my 3.5 apartment with a truck huge enough to move a 2-storey house, and they immediately set to work...as slowly as possible. One worker piled boxes onto a dolly, at half its capacity, and strolled down the hallway while the other worker idled about in the lobby downstairs, transporting boxes to the truck at a snail's pace (both performing according to instructions from their boss, I suspect). Meanwhile Ericson took his dog for a walk. This is pretty much the pace they maintained for the whole move, taking 3-times as long to move the same amount of belongings as it had taken me the year before, and informing me halfway through that I should probably go and get more cash from an ATM as it could take them a while yet (??!!!). Then it took them an hour to drive 17 km (a 20-minute trip) to my new residence (perhaps they stopped for a bite to eat...on my tab?), and when they finally showed up, there was so much noise and yelling going on that you would have thought the circus had come to town. On this normally quiet street, neighbors stuck their heads out to see what was going on, and an old couple living downstairs shut the curtains and sought refuge within their home (we went to apologize to them for all the noise, afterwards). At one point, when I had had it with Ericson being so condescending and verbally abusive to his workers, I approached him to ask him to take it easy and found that he was actually directing his expletive-laden yelling at my husband!!! We-Haul Movers provide very good service in terms of packing up and moving your stuff, but do not trust them to dissemble and re-assemble your furniture. This is a service offered by the company, but when they re-assembled my Ikea bed during a move this past weekend, they failed to inform us that four essential screws were missing. They simply placed the bed's crossbeams in place without securing them, and left without mentioning any problems. The bed collapsed as soon as I sat on it. We were forced to buy new screws and reassemble the bed ourselves. Luckily nobody was injured, but this was clearly a safety hazard - imagine if we had been older people who could not fix the bed ourselves and who were more prone to injury! Imagine if my cat had been under the bed! In short, We-Haul is good for just moving. Do not trust them with your furniture assembly. read more

Great movers -- fair price - Excellent work ethic. Ericson is on top of his staff at all times and they do work very hard. Extremely careful with the furniture etc... Everything was wrapped in blankets and lots of tape. Make sure to buy your own tape and better mattress bags for the move. They do charge a bit too much (not crazy too much) -- however --- they do charge what others charge. I found them on yelp and I must say that I am very pleased Would DEFINITELY use them again PS -- if you think that your move will take 1 or 2 hours -- make sure to double it -- It takes sooo long to wrap up furniture etc... Unwrapping was fast and PS -- the guys worked in the soaking rain and without complaints or breaks at all !! read more

I don't usually review movers and these kind of services, but I used them this summer, and I've moved so many times in the past that consequently I've used many different moving companies and often had some sort of problem or another. Someone referred me to We Haul so this time I chose my movers based on a reference and I was pleasantly satisfied. They were quick, efficient, they guys doing the move were most helpful and most importantly nothing got damaged or even mildly scratched, which wasn't always the case in the past with other movers. read more

I used we-haul movers in 2010, and i thought they were good. i gave them a call for my next move in Jan 2012, figuring i would get the same service. I would not recomment this company to anyone, not even my enemy. if you want to pay to receive attitude and greif then use them. When they got there - 30 mins late - the "boss" was greeted very nicely. the first words he said to me were "im sick - no smoking", no hello, no good morning, nothing..... they started to move some bigger items by themselves - that was fine. when they started with boxes and bags of clothes - they threw them down the 2 1/2 flights of stairs. we started to do a "chain" as per their request. As i passed 3 boxes at a time, i was told we had to take a 15 second brake and talk. the "boss", if you can even call him that, told me this was not the place for me and that i belonged back in my apartment. I held my tongue and went back into my home. As i went back inside, i said "can we please stop talking and keep moving, this is billable time" - no one listened again. My mother asked them prox how long this would take - and he said "well i have the e-mail to confirm - 2 guys @ 70/hr, if you arent happy ill show you the e-mail" i then interrupted "No, i dont want to see the e-mail, just keep moving, and if you want to throw the e-mail in my face, take a look, it doesnt say anything about trqing things or no smoking..... so please..... keep moving - you should be movers" Once all the small things were thrown and loaded in the truck, they moved on to my washer/dryer. The worker asked me to a bowl for the drain water to go in. As i reached for one, the "BOSS" said "hey, we are just moving it, THATS IT" I then asked if there was a secure place for my flat screen TV. he said.... "ya". i NICELY asked if something happened to it if he was responsible. the lovely answer i got was "well if you put it in your car am i responsible?" - i was NOT impressed. I had asked in passing to the worker where the other guy was (i remebered him from my last move, he was the best and so sweet!). The "boss" interrupted again and said "well, the e-mail specified 2 men (it didnt)" i told him i was only asking because i remember this man as being so sweet and i was wondering if he was still with this company. the lovely reply i got was "well im the boss, im paid to deal with implesantness and stress, im not here to be nice." i laughed and replied quite loudly "obviously". the last peice to be taken was my TV. as they carried it down the stais i heard yelling, they had picked a fight with my superintendant - telling him not to come out of his appt or he would get a beating. i looked out my window to see the truck - he was carrying my 42'' tv in one hand, holding his water bottle in the other..... very nice, it must have been expensive water. did i menton the bathroom breaks - OMG - have they ever heard of respect. Ive never heard my bathroom door slammed so many times in one day. did i mention in the time they are charging you for, they take their dog for a walk? on a last note, if you use these people be ware. I found them to be neglectful with my things (espcially things i asked them to be careful with), they were really really rude (not only to me, to my very quiet mother too).... Oh and the worst part, they took off 2 front doors when i asked them not to (as per my landlords request, there was electricity wires passing through the door) - and yess they broke the door and didnt give a sh*t. so in a short note, never use these people..... read more

Their web site sounds so positive, but man was very abrupt on the phone. Pushed me for an immediate committment, to which I said okay and then a few hours later wrote to cancel. The man Ericson wrote and called me the next morning to say I owed him money for cancelling and that if I did not pay he would be coming ot my house! I never agreed to a cancellation fee! And how dare he threaten me if I do not pay? That's like the mafia! I am so glad I did not choose this company. read more

The worst experience I've ever had with a business. When I had to cancel the move unexpectedly because the other tenants hadn't moved out, Ericson demanded payment even though there was no discussion or agreement of a cancellation fee. He kept me on the phone arguing with me and was totally unprofessional. As if moving isn't stressful enough, it's ridiculous when the owner of the moving company calls you at 6am to argue and basically refuses to cancel your appointment. To make matters worse, he sent me a registered letter to my new address threatening to bring legal action. What a joke! read more

These guys are incredible. They were able to move everything out of my 8000sq ft home in Kirkland, to my new place in Vaudreuil with NO ILL EFFECTS. This is unheard of as far as my experience with moving companies go. Ericsson is the man and he makes sure he only brings quality guys that are polite, well spoken, and physically fit. He stays on site to make sure things are always moving smoothly, quickly and efficiently. We`ve also used this company to help my children get from apt to apt, so I am a multiple move customer of We Haul Movers. So much furniture moved with no dings, no marking of any walls anywhere, no drops and he ensures the truck is loaded so that everything is secure, with weight distributed properly so as not to stack things just to have something crushed. The attention to detail and transparency of these guys really made me appreciate the professionalism and skills required (but so often lacking) to operate a moving company well. We had them move us twice. The first time the move was spear headed by Jonas and it went very well. The second move was a completely different team lead by the owner Ericsson. An absolute nightmare!!!!! Truck shows up late, furniture damaged, furniture and boxes missing, brand new wood floors badly scratched and damaged (beyond regular wear and tear from a move), zero, absolute zero professionalism! When we called to inquire why the movers were moving our stuff out without the truck being present, Ericsson took a simple inquiry and turned into a personal attack. What happened to customer service? and because of that now we are noticing boxes are missing, even small pieces of furniture. When we called to ask if anything was left in the truck, Ericsson lost his temper, yelling, "I know what you're getting at" even calling my wife unbalanced. I am not surprised because the day of the move he was venting about another client calling her unbalanced as well, should have been my red flag not to have paid for his service a second time.
