We liked that the place is bright and decorated - had a good vibe. Our server was on high energy and welcoming. He recommended us to try Papas, and so we did. We took the bowl size that's good for one person, we still couldn't finish it though. I'm new to NM food so loved the chile sauce, meat, cheese and hash browns mixed on a plate. Enjoyed the unique dish.

I liked that this location is close to the college . We came here while visiting in Los Cruces . The inside is super cute . We got seated right away . The host & waitress was very friendly. We came here for breakfast . I got the Papas veggie . This was so good! Hash browns with sautéed peppers. mushrooms, onions & tomatoes with green chili sauce . It was amazing! I got a Diet Coke & it was huge ! They have a lot of choices on their menu .

Great breakfast spot in Las Cruces! Interior was spacious and well lit. Place was busy but we were able to grab a table fairly quickly. Our waiter was really nice and gave some great suggestions from the large menu. The prices here are very reasonable and the portions are huge! The sauces was good, especially since NM is known for chiles. Both dishes were flavorful, eggs cooked as ordered and the hashbrowns were delicious. Great experience while in town!

Really great breakfast/brunch spot after an early morning at White Sands. Large menu and wide selection of classics. Service was phenomenal, forgot the name of our guy but bro slide us some extra red chile shoutout that guy.

Very clean and friendly place. I have been here for breakfast and lunch and I did prefer breakfast. Large portions and good old fashioned comfort kinda of food. The green chile stew was good but not epic the same as the sandwich.

This spot has it all. Large menu, tasty food, great service. Located across the NMSU campus, Weck's serves a great breakfast. We started out with chips and salsa. Chips were thin, warm, and perfectly salted. Salsa wasn't spicy, but still really tasty - they even sell it in jars to take home. I opted for the traditional benedict. Hollandaise was seasoned perfectly, eggs were runny, and the side of hash browns were crispy. The restaurant itself is large and filled up quick! Definitely coming back here each time we visit the area.

From entering this building to leaving, this was a great experience. The entire dining room is very well lit. The service is excellent, and the food is even better.

I was so excited to be in New Mexico because that meant I could fill my stomach up with New Mexican chile. Nothing beats it! I stopped by Weck's for breakfast and it did not disappoint. I got seated quickly and was able to order and be out of there in about 30 minutes. I ordered the chicken enchiladas with green chile. It had a good amount of heat to it. Just the perfect way to start off my morning.

My first Weck's experience was in Albuquerque, and I've been hooked ever since. We recently moved to El Paso from another part of Texas, and were THRILLED to see that there's a Weck's in Las Cruces! I got the carne adovada papas bowl Christmas style, and I have never been disappointed with that order. Plenty of food and so delicious. My husband swears the pancakes here are worth it, but I can't get away from this Old Faithful breakfast order to even test something else.

After putting it off way too long I finally managed to get over to Weck's on University Ave to experience lunch. Inside the restaurant is bright, clean, and roomy. I was greeted at the door with a most agreeable and efficient host and led immediately to a table. The restaurant was quite busy at this hour but the service throughout my visit was outstanding. My waitress ( I believe her name was Deandria?) was exceptional. Weck's is open only for breakfast and lunch...they close at 2:00 PM. The restaurant features the usual breakfast and lunch meals: waffles, pancakes, omelettes, eggs benedict, chicken fried steak, and burgers, along with a Navajo taco and burritos. Prices are very reasonable...especially for their lunch specials. Today I ordered their lunch burrito filled with carne adovada and bathed in red sauce. It came with pinto beans in a sauce and hash browns. Despite how busy they were the time from ordering to plate on the table was quick. The food however had its disappointments. The beans were pretty tasteless and the insipid bean sauce covering them didn't help. Rate them a "C-." The hash browns were fairly good with a bit of crispness on the outer layer, BUT WHY IN THE WORLD DID THEY SLOP THEIR TERRIBLE RED SAUCE OVER THE HASH BROWNS AS WELL AS THE BURRITO??? Rate the hash browns a "B" even though they were somewhat ruined by being covered by that sauce. The carne adovada pork in the burrito was ample in portion and fairly good, but not great. It could have had more juiciness and flavor. Rate the adovada a "B." The red chile sauce over the burrito was not good at all. It was not the usual New Mex red chile sauce that we all love. Rate it a "D." As a consequence it dropped the burrito rating down to a "C" overall. All in all, this meal was a bit of a disappointment. I will say, however, the burgers being delivered to other tables did look really good. Will have to try them someday. Rate the overall dining experience this day at Weck's THREE AND THREE QUARTER STARS...meaning above average. I could see rating it higher if the food other than the burrito is as good as it looked. The food today was hit or miss, but the atmosphere was nice and the service outstanding. A well run operation.

We have eaten at Wecks dozens of times (and we don't even live in New Mexico, but have family in Las Cruces). But we will never go back. My mom ordered the Papas Original plate because she wanted two eggs. The plate shows up with about a pound of hash browns, two eggs and no meat. We asked the waitress - isn't this supposed to come with meat. She says no the original doesn't come with meat makes some reference to a dish called sloppy?? (Note - I've enclosed a copy of their papas menu, it says bacon, ham and sausage - not even "or", implying all three should be on there.). We aren't the kind to push it when a waitress is wrong, she was obviously new and didn't know the product. My mom proceeded to eat her dish and not mention it any longer. I should say she tried to eat her dish. The hash browns were so hard and over cooked that when she would try and cut into her dish to take a bite, things would crack off and go flying everywhere off her plate and onto the table. At that point a manager came by and I called him over. I asked are the potatoes supposed to be like this? They are Rick hard and inedible. He said that is how they always make them. My mom said then you should serve them on a bigger plate (it was a small lunch sized plate when the rest of our party all had large oval plates). My mom explained how the food was ending up all over the table. The manager, instead of offering to bring her a larger plate, just huffs and says well I can take this out of here. And grabs her plate and walks off. No offer to replace it with something else, just takes the plate and leaves. I have never in my life seen such a rude management reaction. The waitress I can forgive, you could tell she was new. But the manager. That's inexcusable. I would like to point out, I have never seen him before. There was a second manager working that day, and I've always seen him in the past. Unfortunately, he was not the one we engaged with. And to try and tell them apart is difficult. They are both male and both dark haired. Although I would say the rude one had darker hair and was maybe just a little bit lighter weight than the nice one. Regardless, I'll never go back. With drinks and tip (yes we tipped the waitress because we knew she was new) the bill was close to $100 for breakfast for 4 people. To spend that kind of money and be treated that poorly by management staff is inexcusable.

Friendly waitress & waiters, manager cruised by to check in and the food is SO filling and delicious. Plus the Mexicali coffee was amazing.
