I find reviewers out west especially I'm CA, AZ, and NM are typically harsh on restaurants. Just looking for some level of perfection that isn attainable. But I digress. Wreck's is a fantastic restaurant. Every detail. The staff is super friendly. The decor is fun and cheery. The food is delicious and very large portions. If you leave hungry that's on you. Here is a detail that could go unnoticed but goes a long way. I ordered a soup (some tomato something or other that was delicious) and asked that it come out before the omelet I was ordering. The server grabbed the manager as she walked by and whispered to go get the soup started. I figured that was to make sure it came out first. Details!! Speaking of the manager, she was present all the time but not in your face. Just keeping an eye out on those little details. Weck's was a regular thing for me on Saturday and Sunday morning, was there at opening time, sat in the same place and ate the same thing. The quality of the food and the taste was spot on. Over the the last month or so, it has slipped, raw bacon, and warmed bread that was supposed to be toast. First time eating at a Weck's. It's been opened less than a week, but the staff seems to have a good handle on things. There are still some trainers in the restaurant, but, we were seated and greeted by our servers quickly. My wife ordered the lunch burrito with carnitas and red and green Chile. They have a cumbersome sign in procedure that took the couple,ahead of us a full five minutes to complete (I think) they had already started when we went in the door, and we're still at it when we gave up 5 minutes later. I was so excited when this place opened! I went in the week after opening and even though the wait was a little long the place was absolutely packed. I essentially forgot how busy it was because the service was so fast and attentive. I visited again recently and the service is still on point. The plates are huge and the prices are reasonable. (This review is submitted on behalf of my significant other who just came hone from eating at Wecks. This is his account.) We arrived at Weck's early Sunday morning. We were the first customers at 0715. The waitress asked us if we would like coffee and water. We asked for both and after quite awhile, they arrived. The coffee was served in a micro cup, the smallest coffee cup I've seen. The coffee was warm. After more time passed, the waitress came back and asked us for our order, not knowing that you had to scan in the QR code on the table. We didn't have a QR code reader, so we asked for a menu and more coffee. After another period, our coffee came, barely warm and we ordered. I had hash browns, an egg and a biscuit and gravy. The hash browns were good, the egg was over cooked and the biscuit was wafer thin. Overall, my experience was poor and I won't be back anytime soon. Warning to anyone who goes, to have a QR reader on their phone or ask for a menu in advance. read more

Came for breakfast for the first time with a neighbor of mine. The Big Pig Omelet with hash browns and toast (really is big, I could only eat half!) and Eggs benedict were both good. Friendly staff that all seem to help each other out with refilling drinks and taking away dirty plates. Will be back again to try some of the lunch items. read more

This is usually a great place to eat when we travel to Albuquerque, this was the first time trying it at the Las Cruces location. We're looking forward to the cinnamon roll but they didn't make any that day. So we said ok no problem, the server immediately complains to us about having to many tables inside and we just ignore that as just a random comment. We get our food and it was great, the food is actually really good, no complaint there. We ask for some condiments and the server literally never goes back throughout the meal. The manager Andres comes by to check up and brings us creamer and sugar. The server actually goes to our table after we are done and never brought what we had asked for and yet tells us she has many tables inside in a complaining tone. She also asked if the manager came by and I told her it was her job to bring us condiments and she still complained again about having many tables inside. Finally the manager Andres came by to try to rectify the situation but we told him she was complaining and that was something you don't do with customers. Andres was great at taking up our tab. We really like the food and hopefully next time we will not get someone with a bad attitude. We actually traveled to Las Cruces from El Paso just to go there. We really actually do like the food. WECKS was a hit and miss. It took a while to be greeted, but once our server came around service was great.
