I was able to visit this place when on a wedding oak wine train from Austin. We went on a Sunday. It is typically closed, but it was open for the wine train participants. The place is very pretty. It has upstairs and downstairs seating. It also has outside patio seating.. We were able to taste five of the wines on the train and were happy to see that they didn't only choose the sweet ones. I'm used to these events having mostly sweet wines. Our favorite was the Tioja. At the winery, we decided to buy three bottles of wine to share between eight of us. We bought a tioja, a red wind, and a Sangiovese. We all enjoyed the wines and even bought some to take home. The winery staff was super friendly and gave us a lot of suggestions. They did sell chicken salad, sandwich boxes, but we decided to go eat at a restaurant nearby instead. read more

This winery tasting room is situated on the square in downtown Burnet. Definitely a great deal of thought has gone into this building and it's construction. It is spacious and modern with plenty of seating, both inside and outside. They have an upstairs outside seating area overlooking the square. There are bathrooms on both floors and an elevator. They do serve a meat/cheese board, but they don't have a kitchen for food preparation. You can have a wedding rehearsal dinner here, but it will have to be fully catered. As for the wines, they do have some good dry reds, and some of the whites are a little on the sweet side. They have a wide selection of wines to taste and there's something for everyone. They do have a tasting fee and most of the wines hover around $30. Definitely a nice place to check out especially with friends. read more

This is a charming winery with friendly service, solid wines, all in a historic building in downtown Burnet. (And yes - there are some ghost stories - look for the skull built into the rocks on the wall!) There is a nice outdoor area as well, although it was windy, so I opted to stay inside. We came on a quiet weekday before Christmas, so I was able to get a tasting right away from a really friendly man who was eager to answer my questions and tell me about the history of the winery, the building, and the wines. My favorite wine was a dry white called Bridal Veil, and there was a big selection for all tastes, including some very sweet wines, which I did not try, as that is not my thing. The winery has three locations, and I think each are different, so I may branch out and see how the feel is different at each place. read more

But so excited to get off the train and head right to the winery. When we walked in the service was not friendly being the only winery in town you would've thought otherwise. The lady behind the counter was very rude was not at all nice we even told her it was our birthday and she acted like she didn't care at all. we started our expensive $16 flight which we were disappointed in because the pores were extremely small. We got no details about the wine other than one liner. She filled our glass and then disappeared and we had to hunt her down for additional service. We couldn't wait to leave. I even threw them cash and said we were leaving because they couldn't figure out how to ring us up. They had someone working behind the counter with the lady that was rude and she was obviously new. We didn't care for we didn't care for the service and we would not order or go to this winery again. read more

We stopped in to buy a bottle of wine after disembarking the Hill Country Flyer train for a 2-hour stopover in Burnet. We wanted a bottle of wine to complement our picnic and were able to get a nice recommendation from one of the staff members. We didn't sample any more than the bottle we bought, but based on that it seems that the quality of wine here is quite good, and the "theme" of wedding-named wines is quite cute. The location is very lovely with an intimate feel inside and stately stone everywhere. They also have a nice patio and second floor. read more

This is the third location for a great Central Texas winery. This tasting room is amongst the best I have ever seen. Restored building. Back porch with outdoor seating, second floor with both indoor and outdoor seating. Beautifully restored and decorated. Five tasting flights are available. Our was $15 each. Drove here from Austin to check it out while visiting our ranch in Burnet. Walked in and it was complete silence you could hear a needle drop. Two folks behind the counter.. Clint and another lady. My husband and I gave each other the look.. awkward. No greeting, no smile, no look.... we walked around like lost puppies and found the bathroom and agreed we would order a bottle of white to try... walk up to the counter... still no greeting... no smiles.. nothing. I'm used to wineries being hospitable and friendly. It was so quiet in there it was like we were picking out a casket at a funeral home.... The workers were super grumpy. Got the bottle of white in a nice chiller, it was crisp and fresh like a sauvoniogn blanc... that's what gets the 3 stars, not the workers and not the venue. $30 bottle, tipped $5 which I normally don't do when buying a bottle at a winery. They did not serve us or pour a glass.... We will not be back to this winery. It was not a great experience at all... it was empty for a reason. Customer service needs to be addressed here. It's not hard to say hello and smile. When you're paying $35 for a bottle of wine that you can pick up at the corner store/grocery you have to add some perks.. kindness, a good atmosphere... put some music on so it's not uptight and stuffy. Plenty of parking and located in downtown Burnet. The co ed Bathrooms were dirty as well... I'm old school, let the boys have their own and the girls their own... Flights here are $15 each and you have a variety of flights to choose from. They explain when you arrive that you have three options to choose from. 1) A flight for a tasting 2) Purchase a bottle 3) Purchase a glass. We chose to do the sweet wine flight and the white wine flight. I surprisingly preferred the sweet wines over the white wine flight. The sommelier was friendly and was working with 3 other groups at the same time until another person showed up to help him. Overall, we had a good time. I can imagine how nice their upstairs patio would be to enjoy a bottle of wine on a beautiful day. read more

We took the wine train from Bertram. The train ride was pleasant, it was nice to be able to sample some wines on the way. We enjoyed the three we tasted. Once we arrived at the winery, however, it seemed like no one had a clue we were arriving even though they had a sign on the door saying they were closed for the event. They were closed specifically FOR THIS EVENT. There was no one to greet us when we arrived. The place looked completely deserted. One lady finally showed up after maybe 10 minutes and started taking orders....slowly. After 30 minutes, a man showed up to help. Due to COVID there were two boxed options for food - sandwich or wrap, with a choice of chips. For the life of me I cannot understand why they did not just bring out all of the boxed-up food and hand it over the counter as we ordered. Instead they each ran back and forth between the register and kitchen area grabbing one box at a time and then going back for chips and then going to get the wine. I wish I was joking. It was so disorganized. We also could not order glasses of wine which I understand (again, COVID). We ordered two bottles, each of which were retrieved on separate trips, two sandwiches (more running around), and chips (more running around). THEN we were told if we ordered a 3rd bottle, it was a 15% discount. Cool. We'll drink that, no problem, add it on. We were cashed out without getting the 3rd bottle and had to ask for it (more running around). Then I asked to use a wine opener so I could open my own wine (more running around.) Really? You're a winery. Why do you not have a wine opener in your pocket already? We were sent upstairs where "everything is set up already" but without wine glasses or napkins. We had to go back downstairs to get wine glasses. The indoor seating was not sufficient for the amount of people present, and it sucks that part of our group had to eat outside in 105F heat. There was a representative from the winery on the train. It would have been nice for her to ask us in advance and then call over to the winery and tell them how many food items were needed, given that there were only 2 options. The wines are good, there's a nice selection. It would be nice to go do a tasting some time but I am really concerned about how they would be able to handle a crowd doing tastings rather than one eating premade sandwiches from boxes and opening their own bottles of wine. read more

This is a cool place with lots of ambiance and history surrounding it. Drinks were good and took a couple dozen bottles home as a result. The snack lunches really hit the spot. The barrel tables on the roof made it a cozy environment. The service was good and they cleaned up the tables to turn them over quickly. Nice clean place with everything good. read more

The wine is great, but the service is poor. I have been in three times now, and the last two times it has just been an older gentleman working. It took me 40 minutes to just be able to purchase three bottles of wine when there were only two other small groups doing tastings in the room. I stood there at the counter without being acknowledged for 30 minutes and when he finally did acknowledge me it took him 10 minutes to put three bottles in a bag and ring me up. I hate to rate this winery 2 stars because the wine really is great, as well as the atmosphere, and we had great service from a very nice lady the first time we were in. But if you see an older gentleman working and you want to be served within your first 30 minutes, I would go somewhere else. read more

We walked in on Labor Day because they were open, many places were closed today, so we thought we'd go in and grab a glass of wine. A little over priced, so we decided to choose a bottle. There was one lady working, Annie, who was definitely caught up talking to some members to our right who were in the middle of a tasting. There was no "welcome to wedding Oak winery I'll be with you in a minute", or anything. We were disappointed that there wasn't much ambience here to enjoy our bottle. Only one place to sit inside and the patio was Meh. But whatever, bring on the wine. We decided on a bottle and we thought she was going to open it right then and there and serve us and be done. But instead, she walked over to the members to our right and proceeded to talk to them for a while before taking them upstairs for a tour or something. We waited downstairs with nobody to help us for what felt like 7-10 minutes. We were talking about maybe going somewhere else because the customer service was terrible. We waited another five or six minutes and we decided to leave. We're not gonna pay $38 for a bottle of wine, that we can't even get a little taste before hand to see if we like it and where there's no ambience. I get that it's Labor Day and staffing is low everywhere, but come on at least give us some recognition that we're even there!! We ended up over at 7 Creeks Vineyard which was amazing! It had the ambience, it had the vineyards, it had the enormous oak tree with plenty of seating outside, and it also had the tasting of our wine, before buying a bottle. We did the Burnet wine triangle on a Thursday thinking the crowds would be diminished. We finished the last part of the triangle at Wedding Oak on our way back home. The bad news is the place was slammed with couples galore and only one server named Paul was working. This man has the patient of Job and the wine stories of Mark Twain. The good news is the wine was fantastic and the flights, although poured at a slower rate, just got better and better. The place has amazing seating and decor and if I'm going to wait out a sample of wine due to large crowds, there no place better to do it. read more
