I had an issue and needed to talk with a manager and they never called me and instead emailed me. Then someone left a negative review and the manager just called me at berated me on the phone accusing me of leaving them a negative review. She insisted it was me who left the negative review which is false so now I am. This unprofessional behavior is beyond me. Planning a wedding is stressful enough. The attitude from this staff is appalling and I will never do business with them again or recommend them to anyone.​ Update: I spoke with a senior manager who was very understanding and helpful to my situation. It's been 6 years since I got married and whenever I l Think back on my wedding day, I still have cringing regrets over my dress. I got my dress and my bridesmaids got theirs from the wedding shoppe. The saleswoman persuaded us into getting dresses much larger than our size. Spent significant time convincing us that the dresses would for some reason come in a much smaller size than labeled. So me... being a size 2 got talked into an 8. No amount of alterations could get my dress to fit me properly. Therefore i wore a very ill fitting dress and looking back at photos still make me live in regret. My bridesmaids had the same issue, they were literally swimming in their dresses. Listen to your gut. Until they change this practice, I would not recommend going here. It's too bad they are more concerned over trying to scam you for alterations than making your day and experience the best it can be. read more

I had such a great experience yesterday finding my wedding dress at the Wedding Shoppe!! I made an appointment to look at dresses with 7 friends/family in tow. We had a comfortable room with a curtain for me to change behind and chairs for all the girls to hang out. My consultant Jenna was INCREDIBLE. She asked really good questions and listened to all my opinions to make sure she was able to find the dress I was envisioning. I never felt rushed or pressured to make a decision and purchase, but by the end of the appointment Jenna had found me my perfect dress! I had the best experience at the wedding shoppe. Carolyn took care of my like I was her sister and I said yes to the dress!! My family lives out of town so I came with a friend. Carolyn stepped in as family and made sure I had the support I needed to find a dress. She helped me figure out my ideal style and find a dress that was perfect for my petite body. She also did her due diligence and looked into the different options the designer offered for the dress. I'm really short and the dress had an option to order it 5 inches shorter. With Carolyn's recommendation to help with alteration costs I went with this. This bridal store is perfect for brides who want to try a variety of styles and the prices will accommodate every budget. She was patient and stayed late to let the bride take her time in deciding between 2 dresses! We never felt rushed or pressured. She was sweet with the bride's Grandmother as well. We had a very poor experience shopping for bridesmaid dresses. Our sales associate did her best to find dresses for another member of our bridal party who wears a size 16, but it's very clear that the Wedding Shoppe isn't terribly interested in offering an inclusive and pleasant experience for all women. Our sales associate was, to her credit, very sweet and did her best to remedy an upsetting situation. The plus size dresses were kept in the basement, so she did say, "I need to run to the basement to find a dress for you." I find it extremely offensive that they keep size 16 dresses in the basement. Additionally, the dress selection is extremely limited, unless you're a sample size. My frustration isn't directed at our sales associate, who really did try her best. Wedding Shoppe was second on my stop of three for my first day of dress shopping. I came from Posh and had a dress picked out there that was mermaid and lace. Arriving here is was packed. Expect it like this on the weekend at any hour. When I was brought upstairs to try on dresses my consultant picked out a bunch of dresses that all looked the same and was the mermaid lace style. I understood why she was pulling them, but I also asked her for different styles. She just wasn't bringing any. I lucked out on this day, the owner was in and she came by and pulled a dress for me. I was hesitant at first because it had ruching with a vey dramatic bottom. I fell in love. I am so thankful she was there on this day. I went to my last appointment anyhow at Davids Bridal just to be sure, which was terrible due to service, and left there to come back and purchase my dress. They told me it would arrive in four months so I ordered quickly. I'm guessing this is a sales tactic because it came in two weeks. Once it arrived I made a try on appointment, which they do across the street not in the same building/house space as buying. The try on process took a little bit of time they are slow, and almost forgot to pack my free veil. Good thing I checked before I left. Overall, I was pretty pleased with the whole process, and I love my dress! read more

The location is in an old house and some "rooms" are just sections of the house with large curtains, which still provided the privacy and intimacy I needed. They WILL NOT work with you. We got a dress that came in way too big and they gave misguided information on how we can resolve the issue. When talking to the manager she pretty much said thats too bad we can do nothing for you. Gave me a $25.00 credit, which I have yet to see. This is probably the most classic wedding dress shop in St. Paul. It's been around for years---my mom bought her dress here in 1982, actually. I came wedding dress shopping here with my good friend on Monday. She isn't getting married for another year and a half, but nonetheless she said a "strong maybe" to the dress. Again, I'm further convinced I am a good luck charm for wedding dress shopping. It's split into three houses. The main shop, which is where you check in for appointments, a shop next door to that, plus the fitting department across the street. Between them, they have a full department for bridal, bridesmaids, mothers-of-the-brides and formalwear for dudes. I had no idea about the tux and suit rentals. It's kind of a one-stop shop (with multiple stops within the one-stop... if that makes any sense). I was impressed by the selection of gowns, especially ones that were more non-traditional and non-poofy. The price range was wide, from affordable to ridiculous. My friend was searching for a vintagey dress that didn't look like a costume. She tried on a few in lace and a few in satin that we all liked, but then she zipped up a beautiful Art Deco-style gown that fit the bill and the budget perfectly. I will not describe it in detail in case her betrothed reads a lot of wedding dress reviews on Yelp and in case she decides to buy. The short version: it's gorgeous. The dressing rooms were big enough that it was no problem for the four of us to be in together. It was a weeknight too, so no one was fighting for space at the big mirrors. I imagine it gets pretty wild on the weekends though, because the space isn't very big. The fitting attendant was super helpful and real, which are the best qualities to find in anyone helping you try on expensive, important things like this. She let my bud know all about their sales and that everything that she tried on would stay on file at the store. Tip: Street parking is usually easy, but they do have a parking lot on the north side of Grand Ave! read more

How I would describe my appointment here was disappointing. I want to start out by saying that my consultant was great and really helped me narrow down the style I was looking for. Fist off, I really disliked how I wasn't able to go and pull dresses for myself. I don't have a set style, it's more that I see something and I either like or don't like it, so the fact I wasn't able to pull some dresses myself didn't work for me. The issue arose when I found a dress I liked but didn't totally love. There was another gal working over by a computer and she kept making comments about how amazing the dress looked and really trying to push a sale. I continually said I needed to think about it and she kept going with the comments. When my appointment was nearly over, she said "you should try more dresses" which I did not want to do. I was already there for a 90 minute appointment and at that point I was overwhelmed and ready to be done. This is a very special moment for people and I felt as though it was taken away due to pushy sales people. I did find my dress at another store where they really made the appointment about what was best for me, not their sales commission. My advice would be to let people find their dress and make their own decisions without someone over your shoulder trying to push a sale. read more

AMAZING! I wish I could get married again just to spend more time at the Wedding Shoppe. Great variety. Exceptional service. Great prices. This is the place to go to find your dress. Especially if you have a more modern/unique/trendy taste and most wedding dresses turn you off. I went to 4 other stores before coming to the Wedding Shoppe. At the other stores there was some aspect that left me feeling either exhausted, stressed out, or anxious. There was NONE of that at the Wedding Shoppe. Willow helped me find the perfect dress. She listened to all my restrictions (timeline, budget) without judgement and asked me the right questions to figure out my personal style. She wasn't pushy at all, you could tell that she was more concerned with me finding the right dress and not just making a sale. When the manager popped into the room to help for a bit I assumed it was the put the pressure on (because of what I had experienced at other stores) but I couldn't be more wrong. She was SO KNOWLEDGEABLE and encouraging. They were both very knowledgeable about the different lines and each dress they carried. They were also realistic and honest, not pandering. When I found my dress and asked about the price they immediately talked among themselves about where they could find discounts. I ended up getting the perfect dress WELL within my budget, which I wasn't expecting. They have any style you could want at any price point. I wasn't overly thrilled with my experience here, but it was MUCH better than my David's bridal experience. Finding the dress itself was pleasant enough --they were the only store in the cities that didn't have only standard satin sleeveless dresses or only poofy-skirted dresses (not that there's anything wrong with these, it's just not what I was looking for). They had a lot of unique dresses, and the sales person was very helpful (I was a walk-in appointment). I got a huge number of compliments on my dress. There was, however, a huge amount of pressure to buy the dress that day. Within 3 hours (before close) to get a discount. Now-now-now. That's not how a gal wants to buy her dress. The selection, because it's more of a boutique store--is more unique, but more limited and more expensive than other places. Would *not* recommend them for bridesmaid dresses. Just standard satin-poly combos there with dyed-to-match color palettes. Overpriced and standard. We did get a discount for also getting our suits/tuxes rented there, but we--again--had to sign up that day and list out the groomsman right then-and-there, and it was more expensive than it needed to be with that standard selection. read more

Simply put: stay the hell away from this business. Came for a bridesmaid fitting session that I scheduled through their website and had to reschedule which, according to the embedded hyperlink in my email reminder, I would be able to do. All that does is schedule a SECOND appointment and you have to call the cancel the previous one (doesn't instruct you to do so on the site. I figured that detail out). No one told me on the phone that there are 2 buildings across the street from one another (the address in my reminder appointment was for the bridal building and not the bridesmaids/prom dress building). There was a specific designer that had 4 styles that I could choose from and while they had all 4 in the building, only ONE of them was in a size that I could try on. The consultant continued to hand me other dresses that were epically way too small for me and dismissed the situation by saying "we can hold the back together for you". For something as intimate as trying on dresses -- especially for an important day like a wedding -- it was grossly insensitive. Because of the circumstances, I could only choose what I tried on. I was measured and was advised to purchase a size larger (which I tried and hung on me like a circus tent). Because I declined the recommendation, I had to state on a form the reason why. Mind you, the entire time of this experience, I was generally ignored because of larger groups that came in together -- one of which brought an infant, so everyone on staff focused on them. Then it came to actually paying for it. I sat by the reception desk for 20 minutes and watched the staff engage in personal phone calls, leaving the area, and so on and it wasn't until I actually walked up and asked to pay that I was told that they were "working on it now". The way this business handles purchasing is that they "claim" free shipping if all of the dresses are shipped to one location. Not true. They charge $10/bridesmaid dress to have it shipped to them and THEN they will send it. Want the dress sent to you directly? That's an additional $20 and they won't give you a tracking number. The BEST part? I was sent an email asking to complete a survey, which I did explaining everything. I then received an additional TWO emails asking me to complete them again. This business is a clown show. Save yourselves the trouble and go somewhere else where the staff know how to be professional. read more

She was attentive, friendly, fun to work with, listened to my feedback, gave "real" advice/opinions and suggested dresses I loved one after the other. I love the Wedding Shoppe! I'll begin by saying that I didn't think I would purchase anything from the Wedding Shoppe because it was on Grand Ave and I'm not a small person. Boy, was I wrong. When looking for my bridal dress, I started out a small boutique up north where I was the only one in the store to a nameless, national chain on a Saturday where I felt like I was running through a Walmart with my bridal party and rushing to be done. So two very extreme experiences. At the Wedding Shoppe Bridal house, my party of 5 and I were welcomed warmly and escorted to our own room. Our consultant asked questions about what I envisioned and liked/didn't like and had previously tried on. She left, pulled maybe a handful of plus size bridal dresses and the first one, I LOVED and ultimately ended up purchasing. Beyond the extra mile customer service, I was also impressed with their selection of plus size bridal dresses at a variety of price points. In a similar fashion, my bridal party shopping experiences followed the same model. A consultant met with my party, escorted us to a private dressing space and I told her what I did and didn't like. She then allowed the girls to pick some dresses and try them on. They also had a selection of plus size samples that were excellent. To note, I'm also a huge fan of their Kennedy Blue line. Finally, I popped in this weekend with my mom to pay for my sisters dresses and we mentioned we were also looking for a MOB dress. The consultant allowed us to browse the MOB specific dresses and encouraged us to try on some bridesmaid dresses when we didn't find anything we liked. Long story short: don't rule out the Wedding Shoppe because of its location. There are dresses for anyone at most price points. They're so nice and flexible and helpful! read more

A word to future brides: do NOT make your bridesmaids use Kennedy Blue. First off, it costs $10 to try on a dress (and for each and every dress you want to try on, so 3 dresses = $30) which does NOT get applied to your purchase if you do choose to order a dress from them. They will give you a card with the dresses you order to try on for a 10% discount, but it's only good for maybe 10 days and is usually not equal to the amount you paid to try on these dresses in the first place. Secondly, the dresses look cheap, but are not actually cheap. All the dresses our party was looking at were at least $155 (which is fine, but not for a cheaply made dress). Also there's a lot of ruching on the skirt (of chiffon dresses at least) that doesn't really lay flat and adds a lot of volume to your midsection (personally, not something I'm trying to do ever). I'm a curvy girl, I love me some ruching on tight dresses, but not on this flowy chiffon dress, it's just unnecessary. I tried on a halter (I think it's called the Lucy) and I straight up looked pregnant. A note on their size chart: I had my measurements taken at a David's Bridal and used those to determine my size (which according to their chart was a 4). I ordered the 4 and could barely breathe in it. I called to complain, and they sent me a return label to ship back the dress and sent me a new one, which ended up being a 6. The 6 fits so much better, so I don't know if their size chart is off, or if the 4 I was sent was mislabeled and was actually a 2, but either way, it was a pain in the ass. I'm giving them 2 stars instead of 1 because they handled the return well and did not charge me a 20% restocking fee (which their website lists if you are exchanging/returning something, unless it's defective). read more

I bought my wedding dress from the Wedding Shoppe some months ago. Scheduling was easy. I had two attendants waiting on me - one to help find dresses that fit my style and one to help zip and pin. I felt so special! I ended up ordering my dress on sale a few weeks later (keep an eye out for their sales because they have them often!) and it arrived about a month later. Other thoughts: The bridal consultant measured me between sizes and recommended the larger one. My seamstress said it was a good choice. Be responsible and take care of yourself. I forgot to ask for names and prices when I left the first time and they weren't provided. They did respond quickly via email when I asked. My dress went for 30% off a few weeks after I had my initial fitting and I only knew because I was following them closely on social media. No one called me to let me know, which would have been nice. 30% off saved me hundreds of dollars. read more

Worst experience ever. As I walked in they started guessing who I was, the sales person walked me and my entourage to the room, I showed her a picture of what I wanted. She came back with a few dresses which did not fit as she did not ask me my size. I tried on two dresses which were nothing close to what I wanted. I asked if I needed to purchase a robe because I did not want to get in and out of my clothes and she responded with "we currently are not using robes but I don't mind if you sit there naked." That's when I decided to leave. An hour later the store manager calls me wanting to know what happened and how could it had gone better...I recommended when customers come in instead of the front desk trying to guess who we are they should ask what time is our appointment or just our name and let us know that they do not have robes for use but they have robes for purchase as I did not want to sit in front of my entourage naked, her respond was "well our customers don't usually mind sitting there's naked." read more

Dress shopping for three bridesmaids. Our dress fitting went well. We had our own room and the attendant was very helpful. She went back and forth to find us the dresses we wanted. Here's what went wrong. We paid in full for our dresses and were told the dresses would be made and delivered in three and months. Fast forward three and half months, I receive two out of the three dresses I ordered and paid in full for. I call the Wedding Shoppe. They are not aware of the problem. They don't know what is going on and tell me they would call the designer; and would call me back right away. I wait 3-4 hours. I do not hear back. I take the initiative and call again. I am informed my third dress was never made so it never got delivered. I then was told they would call me back in two days. Two days later, realizing they were not going to call me back, I make the phone call. Apparently there was a problem with the designer (and they were not aware of this). And I would have to wait an additional seven days for my dress to be made and get delivered. I was truly disappointed, annoyed and aggravated. By the way, I am still waiting for my dress. What I don't understand is how a wedding shop turned a blind eye on their customer's order in the heat of wedding season! How were they not in contact with their designer? The thing too, I had to call them three times to check on the status of the dress. And may I remind you dresses don't come fitted, they need to be altered. This is terrible customer service! There is no excuse for terrible customer service. Thank god I did not buy my wedding dress from the Wedding Shoppe--I may have found myself in an even more stressful situation. Once upon a time, I thought this shop was one of the better affordable designer wedding boutiques in the Twin Cities. NEVER AGAIN!!! Ladies, go somewhere else! read more

I went to the Wedding Shoppe for both my wedding dress and bridesmaid dresses, and I had a great experience. We had our own private room which was so fun. The consultants were very helpful. I brought 6 bridesmaids plus my mom, and it was really chaotic, but the staff was super friendly. They grabbed everything we needed and helped to make sure all 6 of my friends were happy. There was dresses of all price points and everyone left with a dress they loved at a price they were fine paying. To try on wedding dresses again we had our own private area. For my wedding gown I had Senna help me, and she was great. She was such a good listener- every dress she brought for me to try was exactly what I had described wanting. I wasn't expecting to buy a dress when I went to the Wedding Shoppe at all, but I fell so in love with the 3rd one I tried on that I bought it that day. Horrible customer service. I had to order a bridesmaids dress for a wedding I am in shortly after giving birth and the only advice I received from customer service about sizing was to measure my bust and make a guess from there (and because of their ordering recommendations, I had to do so 6 months in advance!). They would not help me with sizing because they "could not physically see me, nor predict how big I will be." I would not recommend using this company unless you are able to physically go in store and try on. In addition to their bad customer service, the dress I received is poor quality - I have only taken it off the hanger and tried it on 1 time and the stitching is already coming undone. read more

Sadly, our experience was a bit of a nightmare. We ordered our tuxes through The Wedding Shoppe and had nothing but difficulties. After multiple trips, phone calls, and emails from the groom and groomsmen, our tuxes were never correct. We ordered emerald vests and after three mistakes (black, kelly green, and aqua were sent out to us), we never did get the correct vests. In the end, they had to overnight things to the hotel we stayed at up north, and we STILL didn't have the right items. The guys all ended up wearing the black vests, which looked fine, but they were NOT what we ordered. We got a nice apology for all of our trouble when we returned everything to the shop, but no offer of any kind of refund after all of the stress this situation created.
