Thanks to Yelp, this spot was just 5 minutes away, and I was even able to wrap my gift while in the store! I was so thankful. I also had my one year old grand daughter with me, and she also felt welcome and found the toy selection to be very appealing! She picked out a cute little toy that had to come home with us. The selection is not quite the same as Card de A, but it is still nicer than going to a chain store and you're also supporting small business! To say she was trying to deal with would be putting it lightly. She was already anxious and behind schedule when she hired Julie. As far as her invitations were concerned, she sent the assignment without a clear definition of what she wanted but was ready with complaints when it didn't come out right. She also assigned Julie to mail the invitations for her but didn't bother to supply a return address. When it came to planning the actual event, if Julie disagreed with her on even smaller points, such as floral arrangements -- well, she didn't take disagreement too well. This review may sound like back-biting, but I assure all of you other readers that this is not what I intend. I simply mean to caution you that Rachel S., I think, represents the exception. I am both a young professional and a student, so I did not have an overwhelming budget. However, I explained to Julie that I wanted to stretch my budget as much as possible and throw an amazing party, so she did just that! Julie took care of everything; I didn't have to lift a finger. She was not overbearing or annoying, either. I told her what I was going for and she completely made it happen without having to call me 50 times per day! The food was spectacular, perhaps the best party food I've ever had. All of my party guests went out of their way to compliment the delicious food, especially the appetizers! They were so well-presented too! They looked like edible art! Julie made sure the music and the decorating were perfect, too. By the end of the night, everybody was dancing. As for the bar, well, Julie knew exactly what to serve so that all of my party guests were happy. I'm not much of a drinker, so I had no idea what to buy. She even hired a funny, friendly bartender to keep my guests entertained and their glasses full. If you are thinking of planning a party, definitely call Julie Brown first! During the ceremony, Mitzi spoke beautifully about our relationship--how we balance and complement each other, what we admire about one another, and the moments when we each realized we had found the right person. It was heartfelt and very touching. She has a deep understanding of Jewish traditions and was also happy to incorporate some Catholic elements. Since our guests came from a variety of religious backgrounds, she explained each prayer and tradition during the ceremony so everyone could understand and appreciate their significance. One particularly special moment was when we included the Mi Sheberach prayer for a sick relative. It made the ceremony feel even more personal, and Mitzi sang it so beautifully. Many of our guests commented afterward on how meaningful and lovely the ceremony was. We are so grateful for the care and thoughtfulness that went into making our wedding ceremony so memorable.
