OMG, what a diamond in the rough. This place is the best coffee in this part of state. All coffee and espresso is roasted fresh in house daily for maximum freshness and flavor. The staff could be the friendliest I have been around in years. In these times when a lot of employees seem to not be happy at work, these employees seem to love their jobs. Kudos to the owner and staff for making this place my "ideal coffee shop". I plan on making the 45 minute drive to this joint as often as I can. Came to visit Maryland because my sister lives here and introduce me to this place after I told her I needed my coffee fix. Cute and small coffee shop. Omg, I walked in and I was instantly in love, the smell was like a warm hug. I ordered one of their Holiday Special the Cookie Butter Latte with whip on top and a Cheese Danish!! I took a sip and was in heaven, I'm a girl who loves her coffee and this was just such a treat. The danish...was like a cinnamon roll on the outside with the sweet cheese danish filling in the center. I will be back, often!! They are located right on 301 Crain Hwy, so if your are headed towards the southern states by way of MD, make sure you stop in to get your caffeine fix on the way!! You will not be disappointed!! Very cute and fun local coffee shop. Pastry selection was limited, but sooo many coffee options with an asst of foam tops available. I went with the brown sugar latte and added a caramel foam top (which I think was too much sugar for me). Would def go back and try something new. They had a local vendor outside and you can sit and enjoy your brew with the actual roaster they use! A kid peeked in with his mom and thought it looked like a train part. For us, it has become a tradition to stop here on the way to and from visiting my parents. Our favorite go-tos are the Dark Star Drip Brew, Chai Latte, Cold Brew Coffee or even the Nitro Coffee (both the cold brew and nitro are steeped for 20 hours) with their homemade foam on top, Iced Pooh Bear Latte, and Iced Honey Pot Latte. I always check their social media beforehand to see what their special coffees of the day are! They have some very creative concoctions which makes it reeeeally hard to leave with just one coffee in-hand! For example, they have made some oddballs like the "Iced Flamed Orange Mocha" which is their signature mocha sweetened with zesty flamed orange syrup, then topped with homemade whipped cream and a sweet citrus topping and their "Dirty Iced London Fog" which is an organic early gray iced black tea blended with cold milk, then sweetened with a touch of lavender and vanilla, and topped with a shot of espresso. All have been amazing! In addition to fantastic coffee and flavorsome pastries, they have a superb Spotify music account that you can follow! Wee Bean Coffee Roasters opened at this location in May 2021. It was previously occupied by Cindy's Pancake Plus for about 29 years. Owner Erich Herrmann had been operating a mobile coffee trailer at the La Plata Farmer's market and Charles County Government Parking lot. His shop has 7 types of coffee beans/blends, cold brewed coffee, iced tea, hot coffee and tea, lemonade, 4 flavors for matcha and lemonade, local baked goods, and Wee Bean clothing and merchandise.    My wife and I were given a taste of the Dark Star coffee and the House Blend coffee. The Dark Star coffee is a dark roast with notes of blackberry, dark chocolate, and spiciness. It had a slightly burnt flavor and was not bitter. It has a blend of coffee beans from Central America and Indonesia. The House Blend is a medium roast that was well-balanced and well-rounded. It was not bitter. It has coffee beans from Central America and Indonesia. The other coffees available were Lazy Lightning, Willy's Roadhouse Blend, The Boss, Mexico Chiapas, and Ethiopia. Here is a brief description of each. Lazy Lightning: single origin, medium roast, decaffeinated, dark chocolate, toffee, and raisin. Willy's Roadhouse Blend: beans from Africa and Indonesia, medium dark roast, earthy, dark chocolate, and honey. Willy is the name of his dog. The Boss: single-origin Columbia beans, espresso, burnt sugar, walnut, and dark chocolate. Mexico Chiapas: single origin, medium light roast, red apple, milk chocolate, and citrus.   We bought a peach cobbler latte, a pour-over coffee, a raspberry macaron, and a Mediterranean quiche. The peach cobbler latte was made with Dark Star coffee and oat milk. The coffee, peach, and oat flavors were noticeable and nicely balanced. No sweetener was needed. I recommend getting this.    The pour-over coffee was made with Ethiopian coffee beans. This is a single-origin coffee that is a light roast with notes that are sweet, floral, and grapefruit-like. The flavor was light, and it was not bitter. My wife liked it but I didn't. The floral/grapefruit notes did not appeal to me, but it was drinkable.    The raspberry macaron was double the size of most macarons. The cookies were crisp on the outside and soft inside. There were no cracks or bumps. The sweetness and almond flavors were mild. The filling was raspberry buttercream. It had a good fruit flavor and an appropriate amount of sweetness. Overall, the taste and texture were excellent.    The Mediterranean quiche had eggplant, onions, tomatoes, and zucchini. The eggs were fluffy, and it was seasoned well. The vegetables were cooked well without being mushy. It was surprisingly flavorful and worth getting again.    The service was friendly, attentive, and informative. The service was reasonably quick. Special thanks to Nick for his hospitality! The dining area and restrooms were very clean. They have outdoor seating and tables. Our experience here was fun, relaxing, and enjoyably tasty. Independent coffee houses are a rarity in southern Maryland, which makes Wee Bean that much more wonderful. The coffee is excellent, the ambiance is super friendly, and there is a growing selection of vegan options (per manager Nick who happened to be taking lunch on the patio while we were there). And the icing on the cake: dogs are allowed in the cafe! We live a half hour from Wee Bean, but "wee" will be back. Totally worth the trip. read more

Stopped by today but this time got their Jack-o-latte seasonal iced coffee and it is delicious!!! The place continues to be super cozy and the staff so but so nice! It's a Saturday so I wasn't shocked to see a line to the door, although the line moved pretty fast. One day about a year ago my hubby walked into this little place and bought a cup of coffee for me. That was his first mistake. I took one sip and sent him right back to that little store to buy a whole bag of ground coffee. This was his second mistake. Now he has to buy a bag for me at least twice a month. We're a military family and have lived in many places (to include Europe and Starbucks' birth place Seattle) and I have had coffee in some of the best little shops. But Wee Bean has the best coffee I've ever tasted. I used to love the convenience of K-Cups, but bought a reusable pod for fresh ground coffee just for my Wee Bean and haven't touched a real K-Cup in a year. Their coffee may be a bit pricey, but it makes me turn my nose up at my former fav Starbucks. It is worth every single penny. read more

Every time I come here it's top notch! I feel like small, local businesses that produce great service and great product are a true gift to the community. Having an INDEPENDENT coffee shop in these times of big corporations dominating the landscape is a feather in La Platas cap. I'm not very adventurous but when I go here I'll ask the server what they'd recommend and I've never been disappointed. I popped in late Saturday afternoon, I was checking out the spot that took over my favorite breakfast place in town. I must say the transformation was AMAZING!!! There is a really cute patio and additional seating to come (Grand Opening is 4/29). Coffee, service and my danish was excellent.
