Picture a villain in a botanical satire, 'Weed Man', who sets upon lush green fields of grass, searching for weeds. He then coddles and nurtures the weeds so that they become strong and prolific. Eventually, the field becomes a weed garden that he visits periodically to feed and admire. Yes, sadly, this is what comes to mind after my experience with Weed Man lawn care. At first, they were okay, nothing notable, just a maintained lawn. Then weeds started showing up in my back yard. The weeds got worse and worse, even after repeated requests to address them. Eventually, after trying to be patient with them, I had nothing but weeds in my back yard. It didn't seem to bother them at all until I canceled service; suddenly I got all kinds of attention from them wanting to know "How we can make it right." If only they had listened over the two years that I was asking them 'to make it right' I might still be a customer. Now, more than a year after canceling service, they are STILL calling me, all the time, wanting to know 'how they can get my business back.' It was once a month, then once a week, and now twice a week. I have asked repeatedly to be taken off their calling list and they don't do it. Each person assures me they will take care of it, but I get another call. They have YET to seem concerned for me at any point, and my patience has run out. I'm at the point where I feel like I need to let others know not to get sucked down this rabbit hole with me. My suggestion: look for a company that TRULY customizes its service for each lawn. They bill you for services they don't perform. We work from home and literally watched them come and put a tag on the door that said the spraying was completed even though the guy was here for only 1 minute then drove off without even taking any equipment out. When I called and complained I was told a manager would call me back and take care of it. No one did a thing. They kept trying to bill us even after we cancelled. The worst part is the harassment from their sales department. The rudest telemarketers you have ever heard will call you incessantly if you even give them any of your contact info. They don't know or don't care that you were already a dissatisfied customer then make nasty comments when you tell them not to call you again. There is a reason they have so many negative reviews and such a low rating. Avoid them at all cost. read more

After firing Scott's for torching my fescue lawn, I hired Weedman through a friend's referral. Our yard at the time was about 50-60% weeds mixed with a sickly blend of (mostly) cool season grasses. The rep I met was a guy named Daniel who advised me that it's not worth spraying the yard for the summer - but rather to wait, overseed in the fall, feed the new growth, then go pre-emergent in the late winter/early spring. He also told me it would likely take a couple years for the lawn to transform entirely (which would include a couple aeration/overseeding applications). I was understanding and willing to pull the trigger as my other option was to rip the entire yard up and sod - which was obviously extremely expensive. It's been about 2.5 years since my first Weedman visit - and after three aerate/overseed applications, disease/fungus control, and weed/fertilizer treatments, my yard looks like a golf course. I honestly don't have any bad things to say about Weedman and am proud of my lawn. I would encourage folks to be patient with nature and let your lawn fix itself gradually. A guy sold me on it over the phone assuring me top notch service, his name was Matt. I signed up for a 1 year contract beginning March 2019. The written contract clearly said 1 year service. Whenever I had issues with weeds I could text Matt and he'd send someone back out the next day to do a better job of spraying. But in March this year weeds were popping up everywhere two days after some girl who looked to be 15 years old, came out to service the yard. I emailed Bobby the field manager images of their sign that had weeds growing 8 inches up around it just days after they laid an application of weed killer. I also texted Matt to inform him I would be cancelling service. He never responded and Bobby later informed me that he left the company which is why the cancellation never happened. But whose fault is that? He was my primary contact with the company and we always communicated via text. I tried calling the office one day before heading out of the country but was on hold for so long I decided to hang up. I come back in town last month and now have several mail notices from Weedman about a late fee and threatening to send my name to collections. I called today and after waiting 8 minutes on hold finally was able to speak to a girl. I asked her why I was being charged for a service done in January when my contract was for a full year beginning last March. She said the service was for until the end of 2019 not for a full year, and they renewed my service in January without telling me. I explained that I tried to cancel several times in March of this year and the written contract clearly says 8 treatments per year which is what I paid for, for a 12 month period. She seemed clueless, often going silent for 5-10 seconds at a time waiting for me to say something else, but didn't budge on the point of me not having to pay for service I didn't ask for and the fact that they, not I were in breach of contract. In any event I gave in because they were threatening to send this to collections and told her I hope the $47 bucks I paid over the phone is worth the nasty review I was prepared to write about them. I used them for one treatment and decided that I didn't need or want the service. I literally watched the guy run through my yard spraying weed killer as if he was in a race. I regret giving them my number. After asking them to remove me from their calling list, they continue to call my phone several times a week. I started using this company. They promised to do the two first treatments for the price of one. When they called to schedule the second treatment they told me that it would be regular charge. They justified this by saying that they did the first two treatments at the same time the first they were there!?! I was unable to resolve this issue with the company. I called for a redo and was told it needed to wait till the 10th if the month. The 10th has come and gone - no retreatment and the yard looks awful. I wish I had read their reviews here before hiring. I have a large property with what was a beautiful yard with flower gardens and beautiful shrubbery that is now the absolute worse in the entire neighborhood. I am so throughly embarrassed and hate to even go outside. Since WEEDMAN took over, there are prickly weeds that make it impossible to even walk barefoot when stepping out/away of the pool. The grass is sprinkled with varying shades and textures of brown, green. Yellow and white weeds. We watched the worker jump of his truck with a back pack and spray all g both sides of half of the sidewalk jump in his truck and take off..... Leaving over an acre of grass undone. I have evidence on my ring camera. I called them immediately and several times thereafter. Along with my husband, but no one showed up despite their many promises. My husband finally spoke to some retention services agent, Sherry, I believe, that subsequently quit returning his calls and then a regional manager who was told that we no longer want their services. Weedman has now sent us BILLS WITH LATE CHARGES. They had the nerve to send their worker out here AFTER we Canceled. They now simply refuse to adjust the charges on the bill. Weedman left 3 dead spots last year by dumping too much fertilizer and took forever to come out and fix it. I told them to hold off this year as I was shopping other vendors. They came out this year without a confirmed appointment and fertilized over the new vendors fertilizer. I wrote a letter explaining it, attached the bill, and told them I would not be paying it as I didn't approve it and to put me on the no call list. They called. I explained. They called again. I explained it again. They emailed. I got a collection notice today. I'm furious. No contract and pure harassment. I'm not bending and will tell everyone I know not to use or even consider them. Weedman killed my yard last year. In the spring, I realized the grass was dead and not just dormant, I cancelled and complained. They refused to acknowledge that there was a problem. Refused to come to the house, refused to return my calls, refused to answer my emails, refused to answer a letter written to the owner. This is the worst customer no-service I have ever dealt with (and I've dealt with Comcast before). If you choose them, good luck. They've been treating my lawn in Savannah for several years and it's been a slow and steady decline in what was a pristine St Augustine lawn when I hired them. Half of the lawn is now solid weeds and bare dirt. When I called for the second time to try and get the weed issue addressed, Clay, the owner/manager, said the technician, who had just treated the lawn several days ago, said the weed problem was minor. When I repeated that half of the lawn is totally infested with weeds, the owner/manager said "get somebody else", which I will gladly do. I was a customer of Weedman Roswell (with 2 of my properties) for several years. The poor customer service and lack of simple follow through time and again finally made me switch to TruGreen. Upon cancellation, I discovered that Weedman didn't cancel my account and continued billing. After some back and forth, they finally agreed (in writing) to give me a credit that I could use for any service and I paid the balance. Big mistake. The CSR who sent me the e-mail confirmation from his official Weedman e-mail account after discussions with his supervisors neglected to put it in the system. Now they are refusing to let me use the credit and the original CSR is no longer with Weedman. Will never do business with them! read more

Customer service is very poor. Company failed to respond and correct ineffective lawn treatment after 4 attempts contacting them to resolve. I subsequently called them to cancel my service, I was asked why I was canceling, so I took the time to explain all the reasons why I was canceling, was then told the person I was speaking with did't have authority to cancel my account. They attempted to transfer me to someone that had authority, I was put on hold, then dropped. I followed up with a cancellation email to their ineedhelp@weedmanroswell.com email address only to receive email replies indicating "In order to make any account changes including cancelation you must contact an account representative at 770-998-7868. Please call them directly to make any changes to your account. ". When calling their phone number, this is part of the automated message: "Feel free to reach it to us at any time at ineedhelp@weedmanroswell.com". It appears they want to make it difficult to cancel because they claim contacting them with a written cancellation email sent to their customer service email does not result in a cancellation of services. A written cancellation email is somehow not valid?? I've never heard of such a thing. I then asked them to send me an email address to cancel my account if I cannot cancel via the "Weedman Help" email account - no answer provided. We have been using Weedman now for over 7 years and have never been happier. Our lawn is consistently one of the greenest and weed free lawns in our neighborhood. Since using their recommendation on Fungus control our lawn stays green and healthy throughout the summer. Whenever we have had issues, they have been more than willing to come back out and reapply. Yes they have called me in order to try to get me to use other services, and that is not a problem. Like any business that is trying to succeed they are only trying to increase their bottom line. Our experience with Weedman of Roswell. If I could give this company zero stars, I would. Cancelling service with this company is a complete nightmare. Cancellations are only accepted via phone call, however they never answer their phones. We left multiple phone messages, wrote cancellation letters & sent them via mail, sent cancellation messages via email, and even asked the service technicians to leave our property, all to no avail. The last technician that arrived at our home was told to his face that we had canceled and to please leave our property which he did, without providing any yard treatment service. However, we were billed for a service that was never performed. Weedman customer service claimed that one of their technicians came to our home and applied a yard treatment but they had no proof. The technician never knocked on the door to announce his arrival or departure. He never left a receipt on the front door, nor did he leave a sign in our yard signaling that a yard treatment had been performed. In fact, on this day our entire family was home. Not one of the four family members saw or heard anyone in our yard or driveway. Nor did our dog (who barks at everything that moves) ever bark at anyone on our property. We have tried repeatedly to come to a compromise with Weedman over the date in question but to no avail. After weeks of no responses, we filed a complaint with The Better Business Bureau again to no avail as Weedman completely ignored the complaint with The BBB and never responded. I am a customer of Weedman for a year and a half. I switched to them because they promised that they would provide better service than my then current lawn service. They LIED! The customer service has been a dismal failure. My wife and I pulled out thousands of weeds this past week because Weedman NEVER responded to our requests to Customer Service to reapply weed killer. Now they say that I owe them $20.20 for service when I prepaid for an annual contract with them. I have repeated called and sent emails to Weedman's customer service with no results. Signed on this season as a new client. They did a quote over the phone by looking at google maps. The first treatment had spots of fertilizer spillage. I took pictures. The technical manager said it would be fine. After the first rain there were 3 dead spots in my yard. Another manager came out and ordered a iron treatment which did nothing to enliven the dead spots. They left recorded calls saying a treatment was scheduled and nobody came for the whole week. The final straw was an email saying they had been there and I had a disease starting with attached pictures that were not my yard and they had not done a treatment. I cancelled my service but a manager called insisting to assess the situation the next day. I have not seen him for a week and a half. read more

I will give this company 1 star only because you can not give 0. Did a wonderful job the first year, lawn was very nice. Second year each time they came out was a new problem that required additional cost. At first paid for the service, when I saw the yard going down, with heavy weed concentration, large brown patches, I started questioning. Called for free retreat, nothing changed called the manager to see a agreed the treatment was not correct. Finally started to get the weeds under control when cold weather kicked in. This year the same problems started. Post treatment in February w/weed control, weed control and fertilizer in March. The only thing that is green are the weeds, called for free retreat, never showed up, but now I have another bill for service that was never received. April YOU ARE FIRED. read more

Why isn't "NO STARS" an option? They said they were coming last month and billed me for the first application, but there was no sign in the yard to let me know they had been here (as I was told there would be, a common courtesy so that people walking their pets know to keep them off the grass) and after eight days, absolutely NOTHING had begun to die. I called to schedule a reapplication and was told I had to wait till the 14 day mark and call back (ridiculous), which I did. They then said they would be out in the next 24-48 hours. It did not rain the first 32 hours after that call, then rained for three days, then didn't rain for four days. No one ever came. I had the most horrific customer service phone experience today when I called to ask for my money back. He said they don't do refunds and the GPS of the tech who supposedly came to my house showed that he was in the area for 45 minutes. Idk what he was doing (napping? humping his gf in the truck?) but nothing was done to my yard. After 15 minutes of wrangling with this ring-ding customer service guy, "Tucker", he finally said he would get someone out here today, but even if the product still doesn't work, I would not get my money back because they ask for a year - AN ENTIRE YEAR - to see results. I hired them to get rid of weeds, but after several years, I still have lots of weeds. This spring my yard is brown except for the weeds. (all my neighbors yards are green) the person on the phone explained to me that bermuda turns brown in the winter (duh). They spray the center of the yard, but skimp on the edges. 3 times after I called, I received a recorded message telling me that they would be there the next day. they finally showed up and sprayed weed control, but the guy on the phone said the last time they had fertilized was in may 2019. I doubt that is correct, but actually my lawn does look like it. I asked for fertilizer, but was told I have to wait 14 days . I think I'm about done. read more

If I could put no star i would. Customer service is a joke, I paid for a year of service back on 2/11 and still NO one has been to my house to treat. I have been setting appointments on Wednesday because I work from home and I want to see what they are doing and make sure they are doing their job. I have read many complaints they don't do a good job. I called every week and make sure they are coming and Wednesday comes and goes still no one at my house, they keep changing my appointment. I gave them one more chance to get someone to my house, today (Wednesday) they day they were suppose to come out. I will follow up on my review weather they make it or not. I once had left due to a misunderstanding, but WeedMan called me back next season and truly took care of me! My yard looks great - and it may sound corny - but my friends and family all state how good it looks every time we have company over. I just spoke with Tucker from their support line, as I had a question about service, and he was able to answer all my questions and was super friendly. I recommend WeedMan to everyone, no joke. This isn't some random review, but they genuinely have helped me and my yard and it looks awesome. I use them for weeds, aeration as well as lime treatment and a foliar insecticide. We started using Weed Man after seeing our neighbors yard go from full of weeds and patchy to very green. From the beginning of the 2015 spring to the end of the season we saw a huge transformation of our yard and to this day continues to be one of the greenest around. I have been with Weed Man for years and can give a mixed review. This is the "last chance" year with them. Two years ago the yard was full of weeds, they sprayed to kill them, and left me with nothing but dirt - in the spring - which meant a dirt yard for the entire summer. I told the company that I honestly couldn't believe they actually left branding signs in my yard as it was terrible advertising for them. Last spring some sort of pest ruined my yard and despite coming out several times to treat the yard, the techs never noticed the problem. I had to call and ask for help. By then the damage was too far gone and I had a terrible yard again this summer. I am working with them one last time to see if we can finally get my yard in decent shape -at this point I honestly just want my fescue to grow and not have dirt - nothing too high reaching. Deanna Freeman was helpful over the phone adding a service this morning and I am hopeful that she will be able to help me get the attention my yard needs, rather than just auto-pilot scheduled treatments with techs that really don't pay attention to the yard. read more

The struggles continue. I've had issues with them all year long with poor customer service and communication, to damaging my lawn with their equipment, to technicians not servicing the entire yard (like didn't do the backyard at all!). Well now this one hits the nail on the coffin....I receive the email saying a technician just completed a service to my lawn and received the quote....but I have been in my yard with my dogs for the past two hours now...no Weedman in sight! I check my doorbell camera to see if they even stopped out front....no truck to be found. Called the office, asked for a specific timeframe of when someone came out, was told 20 minutes ago. NOT TRUE! Therefore I asked to speak to a supervisor and of course I was told "someone will call you back later." No call still...very frustrated and that just sealed the deal on cancelling future services. Horrible Company stay away they lie and don't even mind admitting sales staff will say anything to sell additional services, they also destroyed 48,000 sq. ft. of lawn and then ask me to pay to repair. When I started with Weed Man everything was fine but lately they have wanted to do extra services and the bill keeps getting higher and higher. I would never do business with this company again. The one star is for the gentlemen that show up to do the lawn care. They were reliable. The office is horrendous and that is being generous. We were told we owed one amount and agreed to one additional treatment. I paid the amount they provided only to be charged additional monies less than a week later.
