I have a husky malamute who is 100lbs and 11 yrs old. I made her an appointment and informed the…read morestaff of this and also mentioned that she doesn't like to stand. I have been taking my dog to various groomers for the past 11 years so I know how Long it typically takes for an appointment. They scheduled her at noon, which I thought was strange because typically it's a 9am drop off and pick up at 330pm. This place had her done at 230. 2.5 hours to groom a pure white giant fluff ball. I specifically stated on the phone, are you sure she is dry because she will stink if not fully dry, as she has an undercoat. They assured me she was almost dry and still in the dryer. This place was also an hour and 20 minutes round trip to get to, so we spent 2hr 40 to drop her off and pick her up today total. I even waited an additional 2 hours to pick her up after the phone call because I was worried she would still be wet, and sure enough, when I saw her I noticed her fur looked wet in multiple places. When I touched her, her neck was wet, her Jing legs were wet, her entire underbelly was wet, I instantly told them she is still wet. The man who worked there took her back to blow dry her further for about 5 minutes tops the brought her back out and said she is pretty done with the dryer, here you go and gave me my half wet dog. I came home, and spent another hour drying her off myself and not to mention hair flying everywhere after they charged me extra for deshedding. Honestly so disappointed and irritated that they did not care enough to do their job properly. It cost 70$ and I tipped 25$ so to have to come home and blow dry her further and brush her also for an additional hour was extremely unreasonable. I will not be taking her back here.

When I accidently used topical dewormer instead of topical flea med last month, we got fleas. The day after thoroughly vacuuming, flea combing and bathing them. I thoroughly applied the spray to my cats as directed. The bottle says, "yep we know they lick" and assured it was safe for ingesting. The next morning my cats were sick and lethargic. I called the ASPCA vet poison hot line. They looked up the product and yes, three ingredients (lavender, rosemary oil and peppermint oil) are toxic when ingested by cats. The vet instructed they be bathed with Dawn (which removes oils) ASAP. It is fortunate that it was not a work day, otherwise I may not have noticed in time. I made a point of going to Choppers to advise them. I noticed they have several spray on/leave on flea products for cats that have the same ingredients. Shampoos that are rinsed off MAY be safer. I told the young lady about my experience and she seemed uninterested. I asked if the owner could call me. I never heard back.

Dawn grooms our giant breeds and takes such good care of our oldest too. We had 3 Saint Bernards…read more(now only 2) and a foster Great Pyrenees. Dawn has groomed all of them and each has been perfection. Our oldest saint girl has a standing 10 week groom with dawn and I couldn't be more thankful for dawns skills and kindness; and our younger saint sees her every 3 months about give or take. Dawn is Truly one of a kind. The other ladies at the business are a delight and always so helpful and kind. We love this place and Dawn!

Capitol City Grooming is heads and tails better than any other groomer we've been to. We've taken…read moreour fluffy (uber fluffy) corgi Bernie to numerous groomers in Tucson and Olympia and we've never been truly satisfied with the result. He'd be clearly traumatized when we picked him up and his trims were invariably uneven. Sometimes they would even wound him - but not tell us. We'd find the bloody evidence shortly thereafter. So we were thrilled to find Capitol City. They were friendly and kind. When we picked him up 4 hours later he was clearly in a good mood - no trauma. And he looked absolutely beautiful. The best trim job ever - no blotchy patchy areas. Just a handsome tri-color corgi. Mind you he was a ROYAL MESS when we brought him in! We had stopped going to groomers after so many disappointing results and had tried - and failed - to groom him at home ourselves over the past 2 years! So they had quite a challenge! All the more reason to be impressed with their skill and obvious excellent treatment of our boy. And to top it all off - their fees are extremely reasonable! We were expecting a very high bill given the challenge he had presented. Can't recommend enough!
