They have been taking care of my landscaping for about 2 years. Their price is competitive with other companies that I contacted, perhaps just a bit more expensive. The requirement that they have when they provide service is that they perform three 'functions'. I have a very small area of grass and so I certainly do not need for them to mow this small area. The functions that they provide are mulching in the Spring, pruning and clean up during the summer and really throughout the year, and blowing the leaves in the fall. I really like the guys who come out to my home to do the work. The central problem with this company is that the supervision is inadequate, the training is poor and the communication between teams who come to your home is non-existent. Whenever I call the company, they are friendly and note down my preferences. Sometimes this info is communicated to the men who come to my home. Often it is not. When I see that the guys have arrived, they listen and do everything that I would want. But if not, then it just doesn't work. In addition, when they do have someone who knows what he's doing, how to take care of plants, the person leaves the company. The guys just do not understand landscaping or plants. This is where the severe lack of training is so obvious. It may be that my needs are different than many of their other customers, but the requests don't seem to be that complex. I suggest considering another company.

We walked through what we wanted, and Cara provided us with a sketch of her ideas and thoughts on paver types, moving a water drain, and other items. We approved the plans with a minor modification, and they got right to work. The workers came over early each day to work, and were great. They were also very considerate of our neighbors. Some of the work generated a ton of dust, and our neighbor voiced concerns about it flying into her yard. They made adjustments to minimize the dust. Our neighbor even commented to us how great they were about it. About 2 weeks later, we have an amazing backyard. We've got the furniture back there, along with plants in the stone-walled garden. it looks fantastic, and we could not be happier. The staff were courteous and professional. This company is definitely recommended!!

Snow removal was difficult due to the amount of snow and the icing that followed combined with extreme cold. Lorfax streets provided additional challenges. I had the pleasure of meeting Eswin Yanes Perez who was working as a plow operator. Eswin, despite having worked long days under difficult conditions, committed to clearing Wells Road. Eswin took pride in his craft and cleared the road all the while taking care not to block in driveways! A fantastic job by Eswin, and Independence Landscaping. As a realtor in the area, I have opportunity to recommend companies to clients and often find myself in a position to recommend landscapers and similar professionals. If the entire company is as good as Eswin, Independence is on the top of my list!

The design and the…read moreproposal stages went well, and in March 2018 I had high hopes that I would have a nicely updated backyard to share with family and friends. Unfortunately, it all went down hill from there. First, they put me off until the end of May to actually schedule and perform the work. Because of the heat, 30% of the plantings died within weeks. A lot of my carefully planted grass was destroyed by the laborers - with no replacement. Further, all of the promised weed removal that was performed was done poorly - and within weeks all of the beds were full of weeds. A dry bed for drainage was simply laid as a square instead of following the contours of the slope, making it look both odd and ineffectual - doing little to halt the erosion it was meant to arrest. While I was able to correct some of the problems myself, the "warranty" on the plantings was worthless - the pictures I sent weren't even acknowledged much less new plantings provided. Any emails or phone calls were ignored. All in all, it was almost a complete waste of money and time. POSTSCRIPT 4/12/2019: After a constructive conversation with Terry O'Grady, who was mortified by the work, he met with me in person to investigate the issues and to put together a plan to address them. The next day he had a guy here to replace the dead plantings, fix the drainage bed, and seed the damaged areas of the lawn. I feel much better about my experience now, and if the personnel changes he has made are effective, then you trust them with your lawn.

I said a wall would not look good in that location. He then tells me it would flatter my house. Keep in mind, he has not seen my house the location of the stump or what is near the stump. I told him I was not comfortable making decisions this way and would rather talk to someone who can come look at the project. He did not offer to come he simply replied OK, thanks. Guess my project was not big enough (although I gave no dollar amount) or they just don't need my money. I wil not be passing on any recommendation.

But they charged me more than $300 to clean the leaves in a yard that had JUST been raked. They charged more than $300 for 15 minutes of work. When I tried to negotiate with them, they wouldn't budge. Avoid at all costs.
