I hired Mike to fix a plumbing issue at our home which involved replacement of the innards of a toilet and a bathroom faucet. Upon arrival, Mike did a thorough inspection of the house's plumbing system and found some other issues that may cause problems down the line. He replaced those as well and saved us a huge headache! Mike and Anna are a great family business and do excellent work. He is prompt, communicative, and doesn't try to upsell you. It is important to be flexible with your schedule as a job prior to yours could take a bit longer than expected, but he will let you know if your time window changes. These men very literally skipped dinner at home to come replace my water heater and for a price less than the other quotes I received for the same job. The whole thing decided to give up the ghost on a Monday, because of course it did, and they threw caution to the wind and showed up after I got out of work Tuesday [later than anyone usually makes appointments] despite having a suspicion that the job would be a tricky one. After much careful wiggling, rerigging, rewiring, and replumbing, they got everything installed, cleaned out my air conditioner condenser for free and had the foresight to test and replace a few other worn parts to prevent problems later down the road. Both of them were careful to involve me in the entire process so I understood what was going on and could see what needed fixing with my own eyes instead of just being handed charges fait accompli and so I know how to check problem areas in the future. While I, of course, hope not to -need- them again, they're the top of my list to call if I ever do. read more

Michael came out on short notice to replace my sump pump with a new pump and battery backup system. They fit me in on a very tight schedule in terms of various contractors who needed to do projects in a specific order in the three days before I moved into the house. They arrived promptly and worked efficiently. In about two hours I had a new system installed and they carted off the old one. They left no mess and there was basically no evidence they had been here other than the new pump. Plumbers rates are generally pretty high and Michael is not particularly cheap, but I felt the rate was fair and his expertise and workmanship is well worth it! read more

I hired Mike to replumb the vent stack for a second floor bathroom. The original cast iron had corroded and was no longer venting. Due to the way the original pipe was fitted into the joists, this was a complex task. Mike did an excellent job of removing the cast iron one section at a time and replacing the vent stack with PVC piping, completing the work in a day. Since then, I've hired him for two other jobs, and he's done an excellent job on both. He's responsive, shows up when he says he will, and highly capable. read more

Mike from MJW Plumbing and his employee recently replaced our hot water heater that was leaking. He was friendly, polite, fast responder and knowledgeable for the job at hand. I called on a Monday (a holiday) and he was out on Wed with all parts to replace the water heater (no small feat now a days). Also, they were professional and being in the midst of a pandemic wore masks and took off their shoes as necessary. We also have a leak within our upstairs bathroom and instead of taking us to the cleaners, he was honest on what would be involved and the best path forward to correct the issue. I usually never write reviews but my experience with MJW plumbing was the best experience I ever had in household repair/maintenance. I called MJW plumbing in a panic on a Saturday morning when my water heater stopped working. Mike's wife answered the phone immediately and set me up with a same day appointment, giving me updates of his ETA by text. Mike arrived within two hours of my phone call. He was able to diagnose the problem immediately, drive to Fergusons to obtain the required replacement part and fix the water heater within 1.5 hours of arrival. Mike's work was not only of high quality but amazingly efficient. In addition, Mike and his wife were both extremely courteous and pleasant to speak to and addressed any questions or concerns I had about the repair. I called Mike to unclog a sink and give an estimate on several other items in our new house. While this wasn't an emergency, he said he could stop by later that afternoon and he did. He gave me a very good assessment of everything and made a few suggestions also. He did a great job educating me on various items and didn't apply any pressure. Michael came out today to do an estimate on replacing some copper piping. He was on time, called ahead, gave a fair quote, and got to work right away. He even checked my water pressure and offered a quote on some other work that could be done, but there was never any pressure. He seemed knowledgeable. I would like to note that he was one of the few companies willing to come out quickly, offer a fair price, and get the work done right away. Quite a few other places wanted upfront deposits, couldn't come out till next week, or never even responded. Which is bad for them because I may have just found my plumber for life (this is the first time I have had plumbing work done, just bought our house). We had been experiencing very loud knocking from some of the pipes in our house for years and they were progressively getting worse! Mike is a plumber like no other. Nothing but 5 star reviews surely made me skeptical but I'm glad I went with Mike. He's is easily reachable by text or phone. He'll arrive when he says he does, and he'll make sure you're satisfied at multiple check points throughout his work and his estimates are fair, and accurate.
