With a menu that seems to go on forever, offering everything from classic subs to unique creations, it's definitely a spot that demands multiple visits. We split the Bourdain, a hot sub loaded with grilled mortadella, bacon, lemon mayo mustard, Swiss cheese, giardiniera peppers, and more, all packed into a garlic-toasted sesame hoagie. The flavors worked well together, with the giardiniera adding a nice tangy kick. Will definitely ask for extra giardiniera on my next sandwich of choose if it callas for it. For sides, we had the mustard potato salad, which was solid and flavorful, and the jalapeño coleslaw, which was just ok for me, not as spicy as I expected. This location adds to the charm of downtown Grapevine , making it a great stop while exploring the area. Went to Weinberger's on a Friday around 11:45 am. There was already a line forming, but it moved REALLY quickly. I had the whole family with me, so we had five sandwiches to order. They have a LOT to choose from, which can sometimes feel overwhelming, but after eating here, it just made me want to come back and try even more of their sandwiches. The person who took our order was hilarious. My son didn't want onions on his sandwich, and the guy joked, "You don't want onions? Because they make you cry? I might put extra on there for you." Then he laughed and said it would be no problem. He took all five of our orders, remembered them perfectly, and recited them back to the kitchen. Always impressive. Love seeing that kind of retention. We paid and sat outside since it was a cool day in Texas. That's rare. There isn't a lot of seating for five, but that's something we run into often. No fault of this place. Now the food. AMAZING. The bread was super soft, and they definitely don't skimp on toppings or meat. My wife got a vegetarian sandwich and loved that they tossed everything together before putting it on the bread, so every bite had a mix of flavors instead of just one topping dominating. I love places like this because they've got that hometown vibe. And being in downtown Grapevine makes it even better. If you're in the area, come here, try it, enjoy it. Wise men say, only fools rush in, but I can't help falling in love with Weinberger's deli. It's a surreal moment when you find a special place like this. It's almost like meeting an old friend you haven't met yet. We tried the Bourdain, jaybird, and ciabatta bomb. I recommend going with friends so you can try more than one. Bourdain and Jaybird opened up our concert of taste with a symphony of flavor. The peppers on the Bourdain played all of the right notes of texture and spice. The jaybird felt like a classic Italian sub with a pepper jam that introduced itself and became a friend. Lastly, the ciabatta bomb. The only bomb that shouldn't be diffused. The kind of bomb you'd welcome into an airport. This might be the best sandwich I've had so far. Definitely my favorite thing I've eaten this year. I will make the 40 minute trek to come back in the near future. Unfortunately, I was only able to try 3 sandwiches this time. As of today, I will no longer support chain sandwich shops. We had read about this wonderful deli but never stopped before. We got there around noon. There are a few outside tables and a few inside tables. The line looks long but moves pretty quickly. They have SO many choices, I chose their famous reunion sandwich. You order at the counter then move down to pay. They are very quick so wasn't a long wait. We were able to snag an inside table. Wow! This menu has the most amount of sandwiches I've ever seen! Living in St. Louis for 8 years gave me a very high standard for delis, but this place definitely lives up to that standard. I tried the Joe King first and it was delicious! Loaded with a generous amount of pastrami. I thought the coleslaw was just a bit too sweet but otherwise an amazing sandwich. You are packed in there, it is a little loud, people's names are getting yelled out to come get their orders; things are happening! If you can't find a sandwich that you like, then I think you might have some bigger problems. Honestly, if you are wanting a nice quiet sit down place to hang out and have a really quiet meal, this probably shouldn't be your first pick. But if you are wanting to be instantly transported to NYC inside of a busy delicatessen at lunch hour, and just be part of the goings on, this place is amazing. Mine are pretty stuffed and full of vinegar etc so I would not recommend saving for later because it could get soggy. However, even soggy, it's still delicious. It comes with a pickle and chips. Lots of table and chair inside and out for seating. It can get pretty packed inside. Even with long lines they get through quickly. Even eating it cold is delicious. I also really like the Sigmar, but you can't go wrong with roast beef and horseradish. Their sandwiches are typically two meals for me, and they throw in a packet of potato chips and a pickle. Last time I was there, I got two pickles. On a really hot day that IS a treat. This restored my confidence in continuing to support the business. ----- Food is still great, but unfortunately I had an experience that doesn't sit well with me. I placed an online order on 3/24 and only noticed all the small extra fees after placing the order. I figured it's worth it to skip the long wait. When we arrived to pick up the order, the staff not only didn't have the sandwiches ready, they didn't even know about our order. They only found the ticket after we talked to someone and started making the sandwiches then. They also told us it's better to call in with the order instead of using the website. I happily would have done so, had the website advised me to call. I asked if our online ordering fee and other fees could be refunded since there was no point in ordering online (I had even tipped over $5 on our order of 2 sandwiches and was not even asking for this money back despite the disappointing experience). The staff seemed unable to process such a transaction. They asked me to write my phone number down and said someone would call me. No one has called me. I really would have preferred to give my feedback directly, but I am really disappointed with the lack of follow through. I was such an enthusiastic fan, so this is bittersweet. read more
