I went to a baby shower about 8 years ago and the cake was from Weinrich's. It was delicious and this has been our go to bakery ever since even though I live blocks away from another bakery. I will travel the 15 to 20 minutes because of the quality of everything I've purchased and the friendly staff. First, the fact that I can purchase single slices is wonderful and in addition to whatever I'm there for, I typically leave with at least one slice of cheesecake and one of whatever else is in the case in addition to their cinnamon bread and cookies for the kids. All of our birthday cakes are purchased there and I'm putting in an order for this week for the chocolate cake and cupcakes. For a birthday in April we had their strawberry shortcake and of course the chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream icing and cupcakes. So, so delicious. I can't say enough good things about this bakery. I highly recommend. This bakery is so cute on the outside! I have been meaning to visit, but never found the time. I was in the area on Sunday and decided to check it out. I wanted to purchase sticky buns for my Mom and Nana (to do something nice). The inside of the bakery is very cute, and big! One side is a cafe/wedding cake taste testing, the other side is the actual bakery. I picked up the circle of sticky buns that had both nut and raisin on them. I didn't actually eat one, just my Mom and Nana, but they both said they were good! The girl behind the counter was also really friendly and helpful! The only reason I'm giving one less star is because it seemed like there weren't as many bakery items as I expected there to be. But everything still looked cool. They also have the rolling pin prop from the movie Bruce Almighty which is pretty neat!! read more

I've gotten cookies here a few times.... delicious! They are huge, buttery, and perfect. The staff is always extremely friendly and helpful and they wear giant baker hats to add to the vibe of the place. We used Weinrich's for our 250 person outdoor wedding this month. Had a fabulous experience, seamless communication, on time with delivery, as even delivered personally by Cynthia. We are so grateful to Weinrich's for taking our large order. We did a variety of small sized desserts, a small wedding cake, and even some gluten free desserts. We also got donut holes which added a nice variety to the small treats we had our for our guests. Can't thank Cynthia and her team enough, we had a wonderful experience. They even put the desserts on trays that would fit in our refrigerator just in case it was too hot. Would highly recommend. read more

The lemon meringue piece is great. It's piled high with meringue and the lemon is not too sweet or too tart, it's just right. The cheese danishes are also delicious and loaded with cheese. The last time we went on the Saturday before Mother's Day they were out of a lot of things and what they had didn't look too exciting so we left. I would definitely go back for the lemon meringue pie and cheese danish though. They are worth the trip! read more

This bakery was great years ago.....items now are mediocre.....carrot cake without cream cheese icing, WHAT???......The layer cakes look good but the taste and flavor is bland....it seems as though they are trying to save money using less than good products. Also prices for cup cakes, cakes and cookies above average bakery prices. They no longer have donuts or breakfast type of treats.....a bakery without doughnuts---what is that ???. After enjoying a traditional German lunch at Otto's Brauhaus we stopped by this historic German bakery for a special treat. Spoiling ourselves with afternoon tea, st patty's day cupcake, eclair, and a very rich fudgy brownie we were quite satisfied. So many decadent goodies, it's hard to choose. The staff were very pleasant and welcoming, which made the experience that much more memorable. Next time we're around willow grove mall, we'll be stopping by again! read more

Their German butter cake is a family favorite . Also their Christmas cookies , sticky buns and pastry . My staff and customers have never complained when I bring in these wonderful treats ! I only take time out to write a review if I'm giving 5stars. But the way Beth the owner spoke to me was unbelievable. I called about danishes that I purchased . They had hardly any filling but covered with icing. She was so nasty telling me that it's nothing she could do and that's it. She just got back from vacation. So that explained why the danishes weren't the same. And when you travel far and don't get what you expect it's bad. I've been patronizing and sending several people to them since I was younger. I had to let her know that I wasn't expecting anything. You should want to know what's going on with your business so when you are away you have consistency. I'm still so bothered that she even had the nerve to speak to me the way she did. Beth's attitude was just as bad as the danish. But I won't refer anyone else to them. And I'll be getting my daughter's birthday elsewhere. And I'm going to make sure o post this review on every app I can so no one else's has to experience what I did. Everything I've tried from here has been good; not great. The blueberry danish are nice, but last time I got a stale one. Cinnamon buns are average as are most of the other cakes & cookies. Have had sheet cakes which are tasty & nicely decorated. The cupcakes are fair; i.e the buttercream icing is great, but the cake itself, while fresh and moist, is a bit too light and not as rich as the frosting. I've seen cannolis ,baklava, and donuts; but never tried any. To sum it up- just O.K. Nothing mind-blowing. read more

I have been going to Weinrich's for a few years and have been fairly happy every time. I bought a birthday cake for my boyfriend on 6/20/2019 and came home extremely disappointed. After a ten minute, normal drive home with the cake (it was even buckled in to a seat), the top layer of the cake had completely slid off. When we cut slices, it almost looked as if the top layer of the cake had extra icing on the sides, as if the baker knew the layer was too small in circumference but used it anyway. While I'm sure the bakery will chalk this up to my handling of the cake, I am 100% positive that I carried/transported the cake in an appropriate way. For how much their cakes cost, this is completely unacceptable and disappointing. Will be switching to Bredenbeck's for future cake needs. read more

A manager saw me, came over to be sure I was all right and insisted on giving me another cake. I happened across Weinrich's Bakery one Sunday morning in search of a fresh (non-DD) doughnut. I found it. This place is amazing. I shared several doughnuts and a strudel stick, and everything was delicious. This is a really special place. As we perused the varied selection, several counter girls offered to help, and I explained that we needed a few minutes as it was our first time in. The little old lady came out from around the counter and said we should get some petit fours to try just for stopping in. They were amazing! She explained the family and bakery history in just enough detail (we didn't feel lectured to, or bored and ready to go). I'll be back to Weinrich's to eat in the tea room or buy a cake, and if only they made anything remotely healthy I'd be back more frequently! read more

This little bakery that is very well hidden had many delicious looking things. its located on the corner of a small strip mall if you can even call it that. I barely ate much and just want to say that don't look at them too harshly because this review. me and the Mrs. had chocolate covered strawberry's which cost us 1.35 or so for each. i thought this to be a little pricey since i can go to Godiva and spend a little more for fresh dipped strawberry's. They weren't that great but it was a nice intermission to my next sweet treat. I may go back to try other things and give a better and more in dept review but this is what i got for now. read more

I've been searching for THE bakery in the area. This one is okay, but not it. Perhaps I did not buy the right things? I got the cinammon buns with nuts and it is good like everyone else's. The linzer tort cookie was amazingly dull. Don't bother. And it was my fault for buying the stock cookies. I should have known better. Don't buy them, they look pretty but are tasteless. I've driven past this bakery for 5 years and always thought I should try it, today I'm glad I did! I went in for an apple turnover which should be a quick transaction but there were a lot of people there picking up graduation cake orders so it was kinda a long wait. There is a coffy shop attached where you can get a sampling of their pasteries, that would be faster. The wait was worth it though, perfect apples wrapped in crispy layers of thin dough and topped with 1/4" of powdered sugar....yep! I also wanted to try a couple of their lacy cookies and the lady who helped me gave me a handful for free! Awesome, and they tasted great too. read more

My first visit was pleasant, staffs were extremely helpful and sweet. However, when packaging these pastries, they weren't the best. Came home to a crushed cheesecake and cupcake :( and I don't know what she was thinking when she decided to put the decorated pound cake piece with frosting on top with a bunch of cookies not expecting it to get smushed..eh they need to package it better otherwise the sweets itself is pretty tasty and not sugary or sweet, which I love! read more

This review is for the Stollen! Can't believe I haven't reviewed this place! I haven't tried their coffee but i've had their cannolis and I can't complain, they hit the spot. But the real reason to come here is for the Stollen. It's sweet, packed with dried fruit and it's so delicious with coffee or on its own. I'm new to the area and did a double take when I saw this bakery. It looks legit and old fashioned. I didn't go crazy inside I bought a few mini cannoli's, some baklava and a big mini mouse cookie for my daughter. I'm going to just give a quick list of pluses and down falls. But please know this I'm not giving up on this place yet, I will be back as I hear their Danish and donuts are incredible. I also heard they have great holiday treats but for now my star rating is based upon my list below. They were painting so it had a strong paint smell which does not go well with baked goods. I should have known better to not buy a Greek and Italian pastry from a German joint. The Baklava and cannoli was ok. Cannoli had good chocolate chips but the cream was not real deal cannoli cream it was way too light and fluffy and the shell was ok. Baklava was ... Well put it this way we have had baklava in Cyprus, enough said on that. The giant cookie for my daughter looked amazing it was decorated very nice but it had no flavor, yes I had to take a bite from her cookie. It was very deceiving, a cookie like that should have a nice rich taste, it tasted literally like nothing. For now I have to give this place 2 stars but I had a very small selection from their pretty decent size variety. The staff was nice so I will be back. I do hope I can give them a better rating. My wife and I have past this bakery a dozen times and decided to order my birthday cake from here. Let me say the valet itself is very nice but the birthday cake was probably the worst cake I ever had from a bakery. Icing tasted like shortening, the cake itself tasted like it was a box cake. I actually told my wife that it tasted like a cake that we bought from a super market. I was very disappointed in this cake and so was my wife. She ordered me half vanilla and half chocolate and I'm Just baffled on how much it tasted like box cake. I am lost for words on this experience. We ordered an 8inch cake so that I have left overs to eat and freeze. I didn't even waste my time and aluminum foil to save it. It went right in the trash. So I guess you can say we threw $27 right in the trash. read more
