One of the original Weinrichs still walks around talking to customers and will brief you on the history if the shop. the lattes are priced cheaper than Starbucks but i.didn't enjoy the white mocha as much as Starbucks. The service is great from the barista to the women getting us our pastries. I went in to get donuts and left with yummy macaroons, delicious cinnamon rolls and a, strawberry shortcake. The shortcake had excellent whipped cream, but not enough strawberry filling. The jelly filled donut, glazed and frosted donuts were great. The red velvet was dry and not very sweet, but that was the only dud in the box. I love this place! read more

Weinrich's is about a 45-minute drive from my home but well worth the drive because they make the best birthday cakes. I ordered a vanilla cake with vanilla icing and pink roses and it was beautiful. I went into Weinrich's Bakery today for the first (and last) time. We were looking for Irish soda bread. The girl behind the counter was very nice and when we asked if they had any she said no. I asked if they were going to make any before St Patrick's Day. She turned to an older woman with blonde hair and asked when they were going to be making some, to which the woman responded "whenever " and muttered something under her breath. Right in front of me!! We turned and walked out saying we would come back "whenever "- meaning NEVER!! I guess they're famous enough that they don't have to worry about customer service or common courtesy. A lot of things looked really good in there, but I'll never go back. What can I say about this fantastic bakery!!! My father who grew up in Willow Grove and love beyond loved the sticky buns from Weinrich bakery... they where a staple of our Sunday breakfast.. he is not doing too well now 87 living in assisted living in Colorado with Parkinson's and many others ailments too many too mention so my sister thought what a wonderful idea if we could have the sticky buns shipped to Colorado!! My sister contacted Beth and she did her magic!! Oh boy she made a old man soo happy!! The taste of those sticky buns have not changed!! And they travel beautifully!! Back in February I bought a cake for my daughter Birthday. When I got home one side of the cake was smashed. It was the way the girl put it in box. I got home and called right away but they were already closed. So I called first thing on Tuesday morning . They took my name and the next cake I ord they will take 15.00 off. I just ordered a cake for an occasion mentioned to them what they told me and they played Dumb. Would not do anything for me. So I guess when I called to complain the first time about smashed side of the cake they completely ignored me. Customers are usually right in most businesses. Weinriches has been a tradition in my family for three generations. All birthday cakes, wedding cakes (ours was the one with the white chocolate curls on it - it got more attention than my dress!), even food at a funeral have come from the professionals at Weinriches! After moving an hour from the bakery and having to rely on supermarket cakes ...my taste buds yearn for a Weinrich cake! Perhaps it is folklore...but our families 'oral history' of the bakery states that there are two types of frosting used at the bakery on cakes - one for the cooler months, one for the hotter months. When I moved to newtown square, Weinrich's was the place everyone told me to visit! Everything is so delicious and fresh. I brought a tray of pastries to work and it was devoured. The staff is so friendly and courteous. Their website makes it super easy to put in an order on the fly! Stop by their store just to take in the delicious smell. It's definitely hard to resist! I ordered my husband's Eagles birthday cake from here. There was a mix up with the cake and the cake was not what I asked for. The supervisor and the young girls all had attitudes that worked there. I spoke with the owner, she tried to correct the problem and delivered the cake to our location at no additional charge. Unfortunately, the cake was stale and the people that ate the cake got really sick. I had good experiences in the past with them. In my gluten-filled days I came here for some really tasty butter cookies and an insanely good raspberry filled cupcake. They also made tasty coffee--which is now gone. They have no gluten-free items, but when I was in there today, although sad from the loss of the coffee bar, I did see some really tasty homemade looking cookies and treats. read more

Since moving into town we have been trying to stop by all the local eateries and bakeries. While moving we always passed the place in a little mini strip called Weinrichs Bakery and thought we would take a walk down with the dog and see what goodies they had! So after about a 10 minute walk we get there, and you look in and there was cakes, donuts, muffins, anything you can think of everywhere! Not really sure what to pick we picked 4 items, 2 for each of us; recently being obsessed with donuts, I got a Jelly filled powdered doughnut and a glazed creme filled doughnut, Vicky got a blueberry and a cheese danish. After finally walking home, we cut each of the 4 in half and shared each one equally so we could actually taste everything we bought, It was pretty exciting. First I did the danishes, I tried the blueberry danish first, it was light, flaky, and flavorful; the pastry itself was buttery and delicious. The blueberry filling was just absolutely amazing, it was gooey and blueberryish, I love blueberry and so many feels were had when I ate this. Next I tried the cheese danish, I'm not too huge on cheese danishes but it was just like any other cheese danish to me. It had the cheesy gooey filling that's not so appealing to me, but the pastry part was amazing as the blueberry. I ended up taking a couple bites and passing it along. Next up was my favorite part, the donuts! So lets talk about the powdered jelly doughnut, it was light powdered with deliciousness and very soft. When I bit into it, jelly oozed everywhere, it was de-licious. The jelly was grape, generic I know, but there is something about jelly or jam in donuts that just makes me feel like a kid in a candy store. It was delicious and I devoured it in literally 5 seconds. The powder and the pastry was light and paired amazingly with the jelly. After this I ate the glazed creme doughnut, the doughnut itself was soft and moist and delicious, and the icing on top was sweet vanilla. On the inside was like a creme fluff filling, it was so good, probably one of the best creme filled donuts I've had. A LITTLE UPDATE SINCE I WROTE THIS REVIEW: We received a big box of goodies from Weinrichs Bakery at work, which was loaded with cupcakes(vanilla, chocolate, red velvet), scones, muffins. Red Velvet Cupcake - You will see a slight obsession with flavors and such with me, like red velvet, This was a instant pick because red velvet is amazing when done right and paired with cream cheese frosting. So this cupcake is exactly what I described above - Red velvet, cream cheese frosting AND cream cheese filling DELICIOUS!! It was moist, sugary, and amazing, possibly the best red velvet cupcake I've had from this area. Next was some sort of apple crumb cake filled with cherry filling. It was unique and I haven't seen something like it, it looked like a muffin with a core of filling, but once eating it tasted like an apple crumb cake. This beauty was moist, filling, sweet, and when you got the bite of the cake and the filling, it was a nice taste bud explosion. Overall the bakery was great! Weinrich Bakey has that old school bakery charm. Not pretentious or loud like some places these days. Their cakes with butter cream icing are legit.
