Weldon Jack is a retail store and barbershop located at NW 36th and Western. The retail side offers some really cool guy items and locally made gifts. Everything from frames, shaving equipment, motorcycle gear, and other kitschy items. The barbershop has 2 chairs, currently staffed by LT and Austin. Before yesterday... I was a barbershop virgin. I know, sounds crazy, but for the past 25 years I had only been going to women and salons to cut my hair. I had NEVER had a man with scissors near it before. Long story short(ish), I met the owner Jerrod, who convinced me I'd prefer a barber's cut to a salon's with the style of hair I had. Until then, I honestly just thought women weren't really allowed to go to barbershops, but he said it was cool so I made the appointment. Fears I had before going to Weldon Jack: 1.) I was gonna end up looking more like Justin Beiber. 2.) I would walk in and a bunch of old dudes would just stare at me. Good new though... Neither of those things happened! The place was super awesome, but more importantly, so were the people. I was lucky enough to have Chad cut my hair. Super great dude with tons of experience! Even thought they don't bleach or color he was able to answer all my questions, and he cut my hair exactly like the picture I showed him! I have gone to see Gil two times now and every time I have left the atmosphere and the service there is amazing!

I had been getting my haircut with Michael Arms and Chad Grounds for the past two years. The service that these two fine barbers provided was impeccable, and the haircut was the best I have had. The reason that I'm giving this establishment a one star is that the owner Jerrod Smith is rude and very demeaning. I went in a couple months back for my usual bi-weekly haircut, and I was looking at a flask. He came over to ask if I need help and told him I was interested in getting a flask. I was stuck between the "gold" and the "carbon fiber one". He was irritated by the fact that I was touching them and he told me very rudely to stop touching them because I'm leaving fingerprints on them. When I asked about the black showing scratches, he "said its not real carbon fiber for $30 bucks, if you want one that won't scratch it will cost you $400. I paid the $30 dollars for the over priced made in China flask, just because.... I continued to go there because the barbers are the best in OKC and do a phenomenal job with my haircut and shaves. I have heard they are no longer there and decided to post this because Jerrod now can't punish them. Avoid going there since you will have to deal with Jerrod, he doesn't care about the customers and treats you like there are no other options. It is a service industry and you can find a new barber at place where you are respected and made to feel comfortable. read more

I had an issue with my experience this barber shop, but the owner personally contacted me and was super helpful. I came in for a haircut, beard trim and shave (neckline and cheeks) The barber doing it gave me razor burn on my neck because he shaved against the grain of my beard hair on the first pass. However, I do have very thick facial hair compared to most people, and my hair grows straight up towards the top of my head. I've given myself razor burn quite a few times before I figured out what I was doing. I contacted the owner, and he was incredibly polite and helpful, and reimbursed me for the shave portion of my appointment with them. He also said he would get the barber who shaved me (Drake) to watch a shave for someone with thicker hair so that he could see how to take care of it. Overall, I'm still really happy with my experience. People make mistakes, and overall the ones made were very small. Drake gave me ONE OF THE BEST haircuts I've ever gotten, and got my neckline shape better than I normally can. Even after that, I'd 100% come back for another haircut, and I'd honestly still give Drake another go at shaving my neck! Top notch haircut, Top notch service. read more

I decided to give this place a try when I needed a beard trim. I arrived early and spent my time browsing the items in the "provisions" side of the shop. They have a somewhat eclectic mix of high-end products to choose from, which I intend to browse a bit more the next time I'm there. Chad was my barber, and he was great. He asked me what I wanted done to my beard and then kept checking during the trim, making sure I was happy with the end product. I couldn't be happier with my experience and will definitely be making this my regular barber shop for my monthly trims (both bear and hair). It's hard to pick a price range, since their barber services are very moderately priced, but many of the items in the shop are higher-end. I'll split the difference and go with "Moderate". read more

Weldon Jack is definitely the best barbershop in OKC. When I moved to town a little over two years ago, I tried a number of places, and always found something was lacking. It is clear that the shop sets a very high standard for who they employ and the quality of the cuts that they give. As someone who is particularly picky about my hair, Jerrod Smith has given me consistently great hair cuts at a great price point. He really worked with me to find a cut that complemented me. I just got my haircut and beard trimmed here with Chad. It's the first time I've been here, having tried several other places, and I'm blown away with the results. Chad was really helpful with deciding what to do with my hair and nailed fading my hair into my beard. (Seriously, I don't know why this has been so hard to get done well, but Chad did a great job.) I went in to get a present for my, Dad. I was just looking around and the guy that worked there just stood behind the counter the whole time and didn't seem to notice or care that I was in there. I found some grooming products and went to the register, still, the man behind the counter seemed uninterested only now he was having to process my transaction. If I could give them ten stars, I would. This place is hands down the best barbershop for men in the OKC area. This isn't a typical haircut place where you walk in, wait a little bit (a few minutes to an hour) and be seen by someone. You'll want to make an appointment. The good news is they have a great online appointment system in place so you can do it through their website. The better news is they actually stick to their appointments and I am always in the chair right at my appointment time. If you do get there early or for some reason they're running behind there's a nice lounge with a little shopping experience. It beats sitting in a waiting room with kids running around and screaming. After a less-than-satisfying experience at other local Barbershop, I decided to take a chance and switch barbershops. I couldn't have made a better choice! Scheduling was easy, service was prompt, the atmosphere was very inviting, my barber (Ryan) was engaging, personable and delivered the perfect haircut and outstanding straight razor shave. Parking is convenient, with a wonderful atmosphere. If you like to look and feel good, this place is for you. Aside from haircuts, they also offer a little shopping experience that is fun to stop and look. Sure, there are other decent barbershops in town but this is at or near the top. This was my first ever beard trim by a barber and I have a long beard. After my experience at Weldon Jack, I plan to go back there every couple/few weeks from now on. I couldn't be happier with the result, loved both my haircut and beard! I had Jerrod Smith as my barber and he was great about explaining everything and gave me great recommendations. Ultimately, I told him to just go ahead with what he thought was best for my hair and beard and I'm so glad I did. This shop and these barbers are terrific! Jerrod for sure and from what I could see for the other barbers, they were all very talented and did great work. A very clean, professional, and affordable barbershop. Really cool store inside too! Take a look around if you have time. Also, If you have a beard, do yourself a favor and buy the beard oil they make and sell there. I did not buy it after the first trip but will at my appt. this weekend for sure. Jerrod used the oil on my beard after my trim and it feels and smells great. I took my 17 year old son there for a haircut. Before we went he picked out a very simple cut. I showed the pic to the barber and then sat down in the other room. My view was blocked. When my son came out, you could NOT even tell he had his hair cut. There were even still split ends!!! The cut that he picked out was so simple that I could have done it myself. It was a horrific waste of money. The haircut was done on a Tuesday. We promptly rescheduled with another barber for Thursday. Now, the kid has a very nice hair cut and we got what we paid to get - a very basic haircut!!! I highly recommend that you DO NOT GO to Weldon Jacks!!! They are obviously very inconsistent in their service. I have no clue why we would have gotten such horrendous service. I would NOT under any circumstances waste your money there. I would say it was a very disappointing experience. My son says that they are crooks. I think that they are worse than that! read more

Upon the recommendation of a friend with a very well groomed beard, I stopped in to pick up some gifts for a my newly bearded buddy. I had no idea what I was looking for. I didn't catch his name, but the guy behind the counter was super helpful in directing me to the beard oils and other mysterious gentlemen's toiletries, and he gave very straightforward instructions on how to use them so I could pass on the info.
