I have had one bad experience after another in the past. So, when I had waited as long as possible,…read moreNOT to have to be talked down to, by yet another dentist, I started my research. My tooth issues were numerous, and I knew I was looking at some serious work, just to be able to eat properly once again. After seeing some really good reviews, I decided to stop into Dr. Pastorek, and get a consultation. I already had it in my head, that if I was treated any way, other that total professional, I was going to leave, and find another dentist. So, I figured the initial consultation fee would be fairly expensive, as most all of mine had always been. But, to my surprise, not only did it not break the bank, but the entire staff was more friendly than I have ever had. Being apprehensive about smiling, and sometimes even talking, with my teeth in the shape they were, I was so welcomed, without any upturned noses. And after discussing all my issues, and a plan of attack, I took the plunge, and started my long road to recovery. Yes, he is not the cheapest dentist I could find. But "cheapest" wasn't what I was trying to buy. I was looking to better my quality of health and life. I know first hand, you do have to pay for quality, no matter what you want in life. So, I sucked it up, and made a worthy investment, to what I hold dear....My life. With the dental issues I had, heart disease couldn't be far behind. And my wife is happier, to have the thought of me sticking around longer with her. I had to have several teeth pulled, and some root tips extracted. I went in, frankly, freaked out at the thought of it all. But, once again, I was put at ease by each and every person I was in contact with on that day. It was a rough day, to say the least. But, after all my work was done, I had a set of temporary dentures, and a partial, inserted into place. And, for the first time in I don't know how long, I smiled, and didn't hate what I saw looking back at me. Dr. Pastorek contacted me later that evening, just to check ion me. Making sure I was doing alright, and to see if I was in need of anything. He has done so after each of my visits since, as I had a couple of problematic spots. I can not recommend him, or his amazing staff enough. I still have several visits to go, before I am done. But each visit is one closer to me being able to feel a little more human again. I am one step closer to smiling for a picture, and not having to think about if my teeth are showing, just be myself. One step closer, to not only being able to eat real food again, but not being ashamed to do it around people again. One step closer to a new me.

Everything seemed fine the first couple of visits, then I got a bill that I didn't understand. Then, after having to cancel two appointments (I have Parkinson's and the symptoms are anything but predictable) I got a letter that was thinly veiled mysogyny, threatening if I had to cancel one more time they would no longer see me. I don't take kindly to threats, and he seems to forget that I'm the customer and HE WORKS FOR ME, not the other way around. I also have a little tip for him: dentistry is very competitive in St. Charles County. In fact, I live about 3 miles from the office and I saw no less than FIVE dentistry practices on my way there-One of which is my new dentist, YAY! They also don't have a dental hygienist there all the time, and it's hard to get an appointment with her. Bye Felicia!

We have gone through many office changes and never had an insurance issue or procedure issue until now. With a mishap with nitrous being given for a procedure when we signed for it NOT to be used because it makes my daughter sick and the office manager's unprofessional treatment with an insurance issue, we are done. I cannot trust that we will not have any further problems with insurance filing. She indicated that their providing insurance information is a courtesy, not part of their job. So when scheduling an appointment, it is my job to know when we can schedule to be covered, since it's our insurance, it's our job to know what's covered and how to schedule. This was all over a cleaning appointment for my daughter, which was two weeks too early for coverage. However, all they had to do was resubmit to insurance, as I asked for. Plus, when we schedule, we always ask to schedule when we are available according to insurance coverage. After calling to see ow to get this taken care of with the insurance, the office manager insisted I pay and asked 8 times during our phone call how I'd like to pay for the cleaning. She sent us text messages with a payment link, and then she put our accounts for the whole family under review so we could not make any appointment changes. When I called my insurance and asked why it wasn't paid, they said the office could ask for a resubmission or clarification. Also, they asked for codes I had no idea about. Since the office manager would not call and do a resubmission, I contacted our company's insurance agent for help. The insurance issued payment a week after this call with the office manager. Never in all my life have we ever been treated so rudely by an office/insurance person at any doctor's office.

One of my girls is always afraid of the dentist. This time she was fine and happy that she is missing a lot of her baby teeth. :) In my prior visits with other dentist you can get a few staff that is really good and the Dr. Is just ok. Straight to the point, the dental work would be so so, no jokes, no nothing. I don't like doctors at all!, I get really nervious and I need to laugh to relax a little. Boardwalk Family Dental have the whole package, latest technology, great service, fun and loving people!!! Everyone knows what they are doing, are very kind and have patience with my girls. Love the sense of humor!!!! When it was my turn to see the Dr. and the staff I didn't have to explain any of my jokes, so thats a plus! :) The only bad thing for me, is the distance. I wish the location could be closer. Other than that is GREAT! Love everyone in that office.

After receiving a quote of over $1,000 for the bone graft--significantly more than the cost of the same procedure she received last year at her regular dentist for about a third of the price--we were understandably confused. We asked to speak with Dr. Drooger to better understand why the price was so inflated. When he entered the room, his demeanor was nothing short of unprofessional. His first words were, "Yeah?"--hardly a welcoming or respectful way to address a patient's concerns. When I introduced myself as her husband and tried to ask for a detailed explanation of the costs and the procedure, his only response was, "It costs this much because I went to school for 16 years." That was the extent of his explanation--no insight into the procedure, no breakdown of the charges, just a rude and dismissive attitude. We were left in disbelief at how we were treated. He didn't explain any of the procedure codes or why this bone graft was priced so much higher than the one my wife had received previously. Instead, he rushed out of the room without providing any further clarification, leaving us feeling dismissed and disrespected. After the encounter, we expressed our dissatisfaction with his behavior, but unfortunately, the damage had already been done. Although his dental assistant tried to answer our questions, the lack of professionalism and medical explanation left us with no confidence in proceeding with the surgery. We ultimately decided to leave and not go through with the procedure. The worst part is, that I would have probably paid for the overpriced bone graft had we been treated with basic dignity. My wife and I both took time off work for this appointment, only to be met with poor customer service and an unwillingness to address our concerns. We will not be returning and cannot recommend Dr. Drooger to anyone seeking quality care and professionalism. I would strongly recommend anyone considering dental work with Dr. Drooger to do additional research. From what I've gathered, this seems to be a common issue, and many others have had similar negative experiences. It's truly shocking that a doctor would respond this way to a patient simply asking questions about a procedure. Based on his unprofessional bedside manner, I can't imagine he provides quality medical care.

He is thorough, answers as many questions as I can throw at him, gracefully handles my MAJOR dental anxiety without judgement, and his staff are amazing. If you're looking for budget work done quickly, look elsewhere. But if you are looking for someone who does not cut corners (and who wants that with your health?), is up front with payments and treatment plan, and just generally makes a painful and anxiety-inducing situation easier than I highly recommend. His surgical skills and expertise on cutting edge practices are exemplary. 10/10
