It also costs $10 per person for unlimited play, which gives people more reason to take care of the games. Once you walk inside, the host will direct you to a table in one large dining room with big windows and lots of natural light. Scan the QR code on the table and order games and a variety of snacks, food, and drinks from beer to milkshakes. We went on a Wednesday afternoon and the place was very quiet. There's no music or background noise, just sitting in a large open space. The games were a nice touch, but that's about all it had going for it. The menu pics online were not the same menu as in the restaurant. It's pretty much just frozen nuggets, frozen pizza, or white bread and American grilled cheese. The advertised mac and cheese wasn't available. The people seemed nice, but the ordering is all through QR code, and it says you can get your own water. By the time we got nuggets, a frozen pizza, beer and soda, plus 2 adult and 1 kids game pass it was over $50. But, we came to well played for the 1st time when we were dating in 2018 when it used to be on Wall st. It is one of the best board game cafes we've ever been to! It is super cozy & inviting! I came here with a friend yesterday and it was such a fun experience. We didn't order any food or drinks but I would definitely come back to sit and play games for hours and have some snacks. There were a plethora of games to choose from and we were a little overwhelmed but we ended up playing Bananagrams until Scrabble was free. We found this place completely on accident, and it became one of the highlights of our trip! You do need to pay to have access to the games, but once you do you can come and go during the whole day. An absolute delight of a place. The only thing I would change is the parking situation. But that's everywhere downtown. At least this place is on the outskirts. The environment is incredibly warm and welcoming. Part of that is due to the really friendly staff. Upon entering, nobody hounds you down to pay. But make sure you do. They have specials all the time and the price to play games varies but is always reasonable. They have a great system going on and a ton of boardgames to choose from. I love that the staff is great about taking the games you used and putting them up and checking them over. Smart. Really appreciate that the games are leveled and labeled. If you don't understand the game, staff will come over and explain it to you. Most of the times I know how to play the games, I'm just awful at explaining them. I really think the café has made some great improvements. I'm not sure if the menu changed but last time I was there was this past weekend the food was looking awesome. Especially those fries. I love that they have vegetarian and vegan options. I wouldn't call it a fancy restaurant environment or like made from scratch, but they have ample choices. They also have a lot of drink choices. They have fancy themed alcoholic ones, your beer/wine/cider staples, and nonalcoholic. The coffee is pretty decent too. Overall really wonderful place to bring friends. It was our first time there and we had a great time! The games are great and fun and the vibes are cool. But be warned, the food is fairly expensive ($11 for a kids size 6-7 chicken nuggets meal.) Also, they did not tell us that if you do not check out with them at the front then they will automatically add a 20% gratuity to your meal. We would've tipped had we known this, but we saw no one at any desk or anything labeled check-out, so we packed up our stuff and left after a few hours. My friend had a meal, drink, and paid the $10 weekend charge to play games and, plus the automatic gratuity we didn't know we were paying, spent $43. Another friend only bought a soda and a side, plus the gaming fee, and ended up getting charged over $20. My friend called and asked about the upcharge, and they told us that it's policy that they charge gratuity and they could not change this fee after the fact. We will probably go back because we had a lot of fun, but we all spent more money than we thought and you should be aware of this before going! I would recommend eating before going and definitely check out before leaving so you can be more aware and comfortable with the money you spent. read more
