They did not offer the tests that were posted as available on line. Staff was kind and professional, provided information even though testing not available. Moot because we ended up in the hospital for four days for something they could not have treated anyway. I had an excellent experience with this Urgent Care Facility. I had a chest congestion issue that began 5 days ago...my symptoms were not improving with the over the counter meds...went there at 7:25 pm Saturday night...(they close at 8) saw Dr...received prescriptions...went to 24 hour Kinney Pharmacy...and was back home...all in 1 hour. Make sure to bring ID and Insurance card... The entire staff from receptionist, to nurse to Dr...we're all professional, polite, patient and helpful. Recommend highly! read more

99% of all reviews I have ever written online anywhere are positive (5 Stars). I am not a complainer. Yelp reviews of WellNow Cicero / L'pool locations are rated as 1.4 and 2.7 respectively. I would agree. Needed a PPD (my first). The Cicero desk person called out to me - "Well, you have to check in at the kiosk first" Some patients were complaining (it was busy) as I started to check-in. A patient (not so empathetically) was told "my computer is frozen and I don't know when I can get you registered." Another patient next to me mumbled under their mask how ridiculous it was. I decided to try another location. At L'pool, I was told it would be a 2-hour minimum wait. She said I could schedule an online appt for another day. I went home and scheduled a 9am appt for the next day. I arrived 15 min early - there was 1 person handing the desk and 6 people in line and I was in line about 30-45 min. Ten min into my wait the same lead person was being helped and I now also had 4 people behind me - When it became my turn it was clear this was not this young ladies normal position and I felt bad for her. SHE WAS VERY NICE and doing the best she could. Seemed like a management / staffing issue. The PA and nursing staff were friendly as well. No complaints. I was told the PPD test takes 48-72 hrs to be "read". Previously, I was told a copy of paperwork would be avail after the 2 days. This is where the confusion happened. When hearing the term "read" I was thinking about the paperwork. If I knew I ABSOLUTELY MUST return exactly within 72 hrs or need REPEAT testing - I wouldn't have been off by 90 minutes. The nurse told me I had to go out front, get re-registered and would then be brought back to a room. I waited patiently for the front desk person. Unlike Cicero, the place was dead inside with only one patient. When it was my turn she told me, I'd have to get a new auth. I asked her to call for auth under the circumstances and she said "no, you'll have to do it." I explained when there was a question at my last visit they called and resolved the issue. She replied she "doesn't call." Frustrated I "slightly" raised my voice (it was not yelling - as she implied to me). Seemed she enjoyed refusing to make a quick 1min phone call despite not being busy (only 1 other patient) There was only some frustration while explaining all the other experiences I had going to Cicero, then L'pool, then online appt., then following day back to Lpool for exam, then back today again at Lpool - Read this review or the reviews of others and decide for yourself. My regular medical providers (Cardiologist, Rheumatologist, GP etc) all have 4-5 Star front office staff with a desire to help - so perhaps I am spoiled. read more

I was a walk-in patient on Sat 8/16. My primary doctor's office wasn't open, so I decided I needed to be seen due to a possible UTI. I was headed out of town for a few days and wanted to get it taken care of prior to leaving. When I arrived, there were no other patients in the waiting room. Receptionist, nurse, etc. were visibly bored. So much so, that the nurse handed me a bag with a cup for the urine sample and stated, "You might as well do this as soon as you are finished at the counter. We are slow today. I can get it started, get the results and get you out of here." Two hours later.... the wrong antibiotic and it is now Thursday 8/21 and I STILL have a UTI. I did attempt to call Wellnow, as the PA suggested, so she could change the antibiotic but I never received a phone call back. They stated they had the wrong phone number. Odd, but they verified my phone number when I checked in and I left it on the answering machine. So this evening, Thursday 8/21 around 7:10 pm I stopped in to see if I could indeed have a new antibiotic sent to the pharmacy. Imagine my surprise when I was told I would have to wait and pay for another visit. They had an ambulance pull up with an emergency and 4 other people in the waiting room, not to mention others already in the rooms. I didn't require a follow up appointment. I needed a different antibiotic that the PA said she would send over if the first one didn't work. This place is nothing but a money grabber. This same exact situation happened approx. 2 years ago. At the time I thought it was a fluke, now I know better. I wouldn't send my worst enemy to this place. read more

I made the first available appointment at 8:00am to be seen for chest congestion, cold/flu like symptoms, and shortness of breath. Just this past week, my sister, whom I live with, tested positive for pneumonia. the symptoms I was having were similar to hers. The woman at the front desk, as well as the nurse, were very pleasant. My interactions with both the nurse and the receptionist were longer than my interaction with the provider. The NP (Courtney Schratz) came in in a very rushed manner and in an unpleasant way, asked my name and my symptoms. the assessment was all of a minute. I made sure to inform her that I live with my sister who had pneumonia last week. She listened to my lungs for a very short amount of time and told me I sounded completely fine and definitely don't have pneumonia. she did not test further with a chest xray. The next day I went to my primary care and got a chest x ray and it showed pneumonia. that's all! read more

Went in for a foot injury. They took x-rays. They insisted on her wearing boot and scheduling a visit with an SOS Doctor. Well Now said it was a severe break and the fact that it didn't hurt so much was probably nerve damage and we better use the boot and get in to see an SOS Doctor because there was a risk of necrosis, scaring the heck out of the patient. The next day, the patients hip really hurt. The SOS doctor reviewed the xrays and said it was a simple break, the boot should not be used and the boot was the reason the hip now hurt. He provided reassuring counsel to the patient and provided a foot brace which was one tenth the cost of the $400 boot Well Now forced on us. This is not the first time this facility failed in this patient's experience. Last time, they treated a severe asthmatic that had covid with over the counter cough medicine. Fortunately the same patient had access to a Doctor that provided the right medicines and her covid issues cleared. read more

You enter your account number and then your zip code and it tells you it cannot find you in their system. Went online to make a payment and it shows an account balance of zero. Yet in my hand, mailed to me, is a bill for $165. I have wasted a lot of time trying to call these numbers. It is a constant circle of going no where. On 8/8/2023 I visited the Wellnow clinic located at 7375 Oswego Rd Liverpool NY 13090 for a bee sting reaction. I provided my Medicare (Primary) and BC/BS insurance information. Months later I received a bill for $230.00. I attempted to contact Wellnow via phone to advise them that the claim was received by Medicare (I have written proof). However, after several calls, some unanswered and some being transferred around to different offices leading to a dead end. Next, I sent a letter to with proof to Wellnow that Medicare received the claim and that I also contacted BC/BS who did not receive a claim but they contacted Wellnow for me and told them how to submit a claim. I received no response from Wellnow. After being notified that the bill was being forwarded to a collection agency, I again called Medicare who researched the claim and I was advised that the claim submitted by Wellnow was rejected because it was missing some information and that Wellnow was notified to resubmit the claim correctly. Wellnow never resubmitted the claim and instead started sending more overdue bills. Consequently, I'm at whit's end because Wellnow will not cooperate by simply re-submitting the insurance claim to Medicare & BC/BS. A simple matter can be corrected if I could get cooperation and someone could do their job correctly. Consequently, my credit rating is going to take a hit unless this matter is resolved quickly. Nurses on day shift were extremely helpful and caring when I came in with a shortness of breath. Help was given immediately with no time wasted. I would love to shout out Dr. Star for being concerned for my health and taking every step and procedure CAUTIOUSLY to make sure my vitals were back to normal. Communication was top notch, the team comforted me the entire 3 hrs sat to make sure my vitals were stable. Once again, Dr. Star and of course the rest of the team were phenomenal as they worked as a team to help me to their best of ability, if I could rate this visit...it'd be 6 stars hands down. Dr Shaw Last night I had gone to Wellnow on Route 57 in Liverpool. My experience with Dr Shaw was horrible. She was extremely unprofessional. She walked in and looked to the side wall as she spoke with me. Not once did she look or examine me. I had a low grade fever of 99 and she told me not to waste their time and to go to the ER. I explained to her I was seen a few days prior for an infection and they had to culture to see what bacteria it was and if my antibiotics weren't working come in and they'd switch them. (This was another doctor who I saw a few days prior). She didn't wanna hear that. She said "if I have to go to urgent care 2x in one week it was time for ER". I'm sorry but I've worked in hospitals and the ER now a days are short staffed and overwhelmed. I'm not gonna take away care for a 99 temp over someone truly dying. Isn't that what all these urgent cares are for. She was extremely rude and snarky. Everyone be aware of Dr Shaw!! Oh and the bathroom in the back also had poop all over the toilet. Front desk employee very unfriendly. Went in with severe abdominal pain that had lasted well over 24 hrs, including a sleepless night due to the pain. I'm not 100% sure the "provider" was an actual doctor. He went through all the possibilities of what it "could" be, but they didn't have the ability to test for that (didn't have the ability or chose not to take the time?) I came home and looked through the "possibilities" he mentioned-every single one of them had symptoms I didn't have. As a byproduct of my pain, I had some acid reflux and burping. He jumped on that to deliver the so popular pharmaceutical remedy-said it was Gerd. Complete waist of time! I have never felt so disrespected and like I was bothering them by coming in. Because of where I work (Oswego), where I live (Baldwinsville), and the location of my primary care doctor (Syracuse), I sometimes visit urgent care because it's more expedient than trying to make an appointment with my primary care doctor. (Thanks to my insurance, it's also the same co-pay cost.) I've been to this location three times, and each time I've had good experiences. Some times have been busier than other, but the staff - from reception to the PA's that have seen me - have always been kind, professional, and efficient. It's good to know that I have some place reliable to go when I have urgent but minor health issues. I have no idea why they have a slushie machine, and I've never had one there, but it lends an interesting ambience to the place. :) read more

I got tested waitEd 2 days to be told they lost the test got retested waited 24 hrs and they said they lost the test again and asked me if I wanted to drive back and be tested a 3rd time? I would never and will never recommend this Urgent Care. First of all the front desk employee was absolutely downright rude. I don't know who pissed in her cheerios this morning but holy moly. I brought my daughter in with a 101 fever, horrible cough, and a major runny nose- also worried about an upper respiratory infection. She told us to give her a second and that she will get a room ready for us. Okay, that's expected. So please tell me why someone else walked in 20 minutes after us with "cold and flu like symptoms" and was taken right back to be seen? I asked "would it have been helpful if I called ahead of time?" She looked at me like I was insane and said very rudely while shaking her head "uh no we don't do that here" ummm okay?? After at least another half an hour of sitting in the waiting room with a very ill child, we were finally taken back. The PA was very nice and helpful. However, the nursing assistant who administered her meds asked if she was two years old AFTER giving her the dose of medicine they had drawn up. I looked at him with her in my arms and said "umm she's 8 months old" they said "oh sorry I'm thinking of another patient." Does that mean she got the wrong dose?? Seemed very unprofessional to me... (I asked before leaving, they went based off her weight regardless, but then why would her age matter?). Anyway, I had her prescription sent over to the Walgreens across the street as I am from out of town. Huge mistake. When I went in to get her prescription they said they had no record of her having one and that it usually takes up to a half hour for them to be sent over... it was two hours later. I then called urgent care after talking to her primary care physician to have medical records sent over so she can then be seen for improvement in a couple of weeks (they can't make that appointment until they have proof that she was already seen) their freaking FAX machine is not working. So the one way they can communicate with patients normal physicians is no longer working. How on earth do you get the medical records you ask?? OH! You have to write a hand-written letter to an office in Albany to request them, then wait for them to get back to you. Absolutely absurd. The most unprofessional experience I've ever had to go through. OH, and if you want to talk to a human without waiting two hours on hold, ask "Amelia" to "talk to a manager"... the only thing that actually got me through after almost an hour on hold. Don't even get me started about freaking Amelia. Very disappointed. read more

Walked into this Urgent Care Center around 10:21pm on 2/6/21. They closed at 11pm. The front staff was very nice and attentive and quick to sign me in and get me back to a room. Support staff was also very nice and quick and explained everything as she was doing it. Anita O'Malley PA came in the room. I felt as though I was being rushed first off due to the time. She was aware that I had recently been diagnosed with pneumonia a couple of months back. Also should have been aware as I told support staff that I had asthma as a child and have not had any issues in quite a while. She listened to my lungs and heard wheezing on both sides. Now being in the medical field I would not go and assume that it was the asthma because that has not been a factor. She told me that it was because usually (USUALLY) pneumonia is only on one side. Again, being in the medical profession I know that CAN be true but I also had pneumonia a COUPLE MOS AGO. She should have referred me to get or have ordered an x-ray and she did not. She brushed it off and chucked it up to the asthma that I had not had an issue with in many years. Then she looks in my ears. My biggest pet peeve she admired my hair saying how different and nice it was and then took her gloved hand to touch my locs without asking or warning. What a microagression that was and how annoyed I was at the fact. I just wanted to get home and lay down because I felt horrible. I tell her exactly what happened and she belittled me and laughed at me which was very unprofessional on her end. I told the support staff and Anita O'Malley my pharmacy. I told them to send it to them and I will pick it up tomorrow. She comes back with the paperwork and states that she would send the antibiotic because it was not on the paperwork she gave me. So the next morning I call my pharmacy they received nothing. I looked on the paper only to find out she sent it to a totally different pharmacy. I called them and they said that she never sent the antibiotic. So now sick and all I call the Urgent Care back to have them resend all my meds including the antibiotic that she said she would send to the right pharmacy. India I think her name was is who I spoke to on the phone as front staff. She put me right at ease and was very calming and told me she would get it taken care of right away and she did not lie. This center has some amazing staff but I guess do not go in before they close because the provider I had rushed me off. Furthermore Anita O'Malley can use some cultural skills as well as communication skills to know not to touch anyone's hair and not to belittle patients. I will go here if I have to again but I will make sure that I do not see Anita O'Malley again. read more

My son went to WellNow for a TB test. He had to pay out of pocket so he submitted bill/receipt to insurance to get reimbursed. Insurance did not accept because bill/receipt must show the insurance codes. Billing department would not issue a billing with the insurance codes so we are stuck with the bill. read more

I came here yesterday for a non-urgent issue, which was my own fault for not seeing my PCP when they were open. The waiting room was not busy when I arrived, but I knew they had been busy all morning. Everyone I came in contact with was very kind and apologetic for the wait (even though it really wasn't too bad considering I knew they were busy). The nurse was kind and efficient. Nagib, the PA who saw me, was very nice, listened to my concerns, did a quick assessment, and sent me on my way with an antibiotic. As I was leaving, it was standing room only in the waiting room. I have only been here one other time, and they were also very efficient and friendly. I feel fortunate to have this urgent care so close by, with such kind and competent staff! read more

I had been having an issue with an upper respiratory infection the prior week before my doctor even told me to go to Well Now specifically. I had had no fever but that day for the first time spiked a fever right after the office closed. And my asthma was complicating things making my breathing terrible. I got there called inside because according to the app you had to have a covid appointment if you had any covid symptoms but it also stated they were done seeing covid patients. When I called the receptionist was very polite immediately took my name and number. I got in and the nurse took my temp, had me sign the paperwork for testing, took my temperature, I had taken Tylenol so it was lower. Then she took the covid test, it was terrible, nasal one. Then after she left I realized my nose was bleeding, ( now mind you I am on blood thinners, and I get them easily. I got it almost got it completely stopped before I realized I needed a new mask. I opened the door and asked for a mask one of the nurses asked what happened I just asked for a mask that is it! It's embarrassing to be coughing, wheezing, and having people looking at you in general right now!!!) Then the doctor came in did the exam was very kind she left . I was waiting when I over heard the nurse talking about me to the doctor. Mind you I have great hearing because after my TBI it just made my hearing hyper sensitive. The nurse should have taken the doctor aside to have the conversation!! I shouldn't have had a nose bleed, something was off......... even as I left wanted to make sure and said to her umm the nose bleed wasn't on the side you did the test sooo. And her response was "it's just so weird and rolled her eyes!!!!!" Not cool I am not happy I don't need to explain that I ended up getting admitted later on blah blah blah and what is going on.. It amazes me how long it takes to be seen. A 0 minute wait time, as advertised before I came in and currently, is completely false. I walked in to the Liverpool NY location and was brought to a room only to wait for over 60 minutes before a provider (MD/DO/PA/NP) came in. Waiting in a waiting room or waiting in a patient room is the same. Getting in a room and having vital signs checked isn't being seen. Your website and "streamlined" care listed is false advertisement. Waiting over 60 minutes for a simple 2 minute look and prescribe is terrible. It should be known waiting times are in excess of 60 minutes to be seen, not 0 minutes as advertised. This location is horrendous. read more

Online they said there was a twenty minute wait. Then when I check in they tell me it will now be forty minutes. Ok, I can deal with that. An hour and a half go by and still nothing. I ask when I will be seen and they have no idea. Obviously understaffed and unapologetic. Will never return. What makes it worse is I check the online waiting time while waiting in the exam room for forty minutes and it still said 20 minutes. Get it together folks!!! This was my second visit to this location in Liverpool NY. Excellent from start to finish. Short wait. Very attentive and friendly staff. While waiting in exam room, a young lady came to the door offering snacks and drinks. I have never seen that service offered anywhere. The PA who examined me, Nagib Thabet, was very good . . . before he left the exam room he made sure he had answered all of my questions. He was very pleasant. I was there for one problem and he also helped correct another issue, as well. The young woman who takes down the health info and does initial vitals was very nice. There was another young lady/nurse, named Phuong, who was also very good, taking great care and time to do a procedure on me. Overall, a very good experience for me, on both occasions. I am so thankful they opened this clinic within 10 minutes of my home. Keep up the great work and thank you all! read more
