Been to this branch a few times to get different services, including a cashier's check for the down payment on my mortgage. It was early afternoon, but the agent who assisted me talked to her manager and pushed the check thru so I could meet the payment deadline. Other times I've been there for simple teller transactions and had short waits and friendly tellers. It took about 20 minutes to get assistance with my transactions. Staff have told me they are tired of being yelled at by customers and they don't want to stay working for a company like this. They recently installed new ATM's. The noise that they make when entering your information is way too loud. I believe they present a safety hazard to anyone using them late at night or early morning. The sound travels when there is no vehicle traffic around. Great scenario for someone to get stuck up while trying to get money from those machines. Either adjust the volume way down or turn it off. read more

Teller staff is friendly, but they are quite frustrated, I feel badly for them. Poor attitude of floor managers any time I frequent here. I had a great experience with this branch recently. I needed a loan in order to do some landscaping and had the pleasure of working with Daniella. She was very attentive to my needs throughout the duration of the process and worked very closely with me in order to complete the loan. She kept me informed with emails and phone calls at every step throughout the process and was always available to assist me when I came into the branch or called her. I simply could not have had a better experience working with her and I felt like she really cared for me and did everything she could to ensure my complete satisfaction. I'm already stressed enough when I go to the bank - now that I have that hefty mortgage to pay my bank account just doesn't make me feel all warm and fuzzy these days... But I love when the tellers call out "Can I get a smile please" when they need a manager's assistance and I'm always treated like I have more money in the bank than I actually do these days - maybe they know that there's hope for my account yet - so I really have no complaints. This branch is run right, and I think that is a reflection of the branch manager. I bank at 5 different banks in Castro Valley, and this Wells Fargo office is always the most friendly, courteous and helpful of those in this town. Went to another CV bank that has some large accounts of mine and asked to change some $100 bills to new versions which are needed for some travel to Asia (banks in Asia don't like old bills). My other bank (Bank of the West) told me flat out that they won't do it and the quality of the bills is not their problem. Went to this Wells Fargo branch and they were extremely accommodating, taking the time to pick out good bills for my trip. Very helpful, very understanding. A piece of advice. Don't ever hire this bank to manage your estate. The day you die and the bank steps up to distribute your estate, they'll just sit on it forever. DO NOT BANK WITH THESE PEOPLE. Period. I opened my account back when I was in middle school(about 10 years ago) and had it open since. About two years ago they forced me to close my student account(I was no longer in that age group) which is fine and open a regular account. But then they start charging me $10 or more per account(checking and savings) each month. At this time I wasn't really working so I didn't have much in there and not much was coming in or out. So I ended up with $0 after about a year and a half of charging me monthly and then they close my account with NO notification whatsoever. 5 stars as far as banks go. This location is always busy, but I always seem to get great customer service. Even though the lines can be long, the tellers and the other bank professionals seem to have a sense of urgency to get their customers on their way. Service is always efficient here. Phone service is equally efficient. I'm sure the phone service is at another call center location, but we have always gotten our questions and concerns taken care of imediately. She is horrendous, and will just ruin your day I went to sign a bunch of papers that required a notary, the notary had a single question, but this branch manager came and started asking all kinds of questions and being obnoxious. She even went as far as to say "You didn't want to pay the fees for a notary, so we can't sign this here because its on the wrong kind of paper. No we cannot print it again. " ... wow, really? I'm forking out thousands of $ on nice deal and she honestly believes I didn't want to spend $30 on a notary? She made a fuss of the type of paper it was printed on. Basically, she just couldn't and wouldn't admit that honestly, she doesn't know a damn thing about anything out of state, because we walked across the street with the same papers, where the notary simply and calmly said : This is non-california, so I need to use this here addendum form ok?! Besides generally having long lines, and being so unavailable via phone that I refused to use their staff for my mortgage (I instead used a WF employee 30 miles away), they managed to screw up in the worst way possible. Yesterday I walked down the street assuming they could handle a wire transfer, but I am now being told they messed up the 200,000 wire transfer, stalling my home purchase, and I don't know how they could screw up any more than this, and this branch alone is going to make me withdraw all my funds. Before Wells Fargo was in a plaza where there's a lot of parking. Now it moved to a busy intersection where it's hard to get into the bank parking and out of the bank parking. There also isn't a lot of parking anymore. Overall the customer service is great and a lot of nice tellers. read more

When I switched to Wells Fargo that all changed. I have never received such great service from any place let alone a bank. Lytrel has given me the best customer service. he keeps his eye out for things going on with my account and always PERSONALLY lets me know when there is a change.
