This location was very easy to find. There's plenty of parking. I was greeted as soon as I walked in. The staff that were present were very personable and friendly (just like Aslyn). Set up direct deposit but it hasn't hit yet. Went to cash my check on 2/16 and they wouldn't cash it. Understandable, new account. Was told I had to deposit it and there would be a hold. Asked for them to call the bank on the check to verify funds, they wouldn't. That's a first. Went to Walmart to cash, they wouldn't do it. Went to a second location of Bank of America (Greenback) to see if they could help me. I asked to check if there was going to be a hold and how long. The woman at the counter told me yes but that it would be available on 2/17 (day after). She said that checks ALWAYS are available the next day. Hours later got a notification that my check was being held until 2/26. I have zero dollars, no food, no gas, and a medication that I have 3 days left on. Called the customer service line and let them know I am running out of my medication and no compassion there. Most important thing for me was that I have that medication. But no help. Closing this account just as fast as I opened it. I have worked at the same company for 11 1/2 years and have never had this problem with a check. I've worked for this company when I banked with Bank of America the first time and never had this problem. This is BS. If the person at the bank told me there was a possibility that I might get a notification later my check was being held, I would have just taken it to a check cashing place. I didn't expect it to take so long so I kindly went back up the counter and said "I have to leave for an appointment, I can come back later." I was met with a "Sure, come back after and we can get it taken care of." I promptly returned about 1 hour later and waited for Rajni to tell me "I'm sorry, I can't do it now, you will have to do it tomorrow, I'm short on bankers and can't help you right now..." I have been with them for over 8 years with a balance over $10,000 at all times. If your card is ever stolen, don't expect to get your money back.
