Not sure the exact name... buttermilk bar(?) But whatever this is it always hits!

Took a day off from work to do some errands, which includes returning some stuff at the Floor & Decor a few feet away. Saw Wendi's Donuts from the parking lot and decided to walk there to treat myself to a quick donut fix. Went there around noon expecting they might be out of the good donuts. Luckily this place still had some good ones left...I bought a chocolate cake donut w/peanut sprinkles & a buttermilk. Both priced $1.45 and as scrumptiously delicious as you would expect. Got it to-go so I can eat at home with some home-brewed afternoon coffee. It was delightful! Lady at the counter was nice.

Since my original review, I have been back only a handful of times. I feel they deserve to be bumped up a star. The donuts are always so fresh and delicious! Breakfast sandwiches are cooked to order and mouth wateringly yummy as well. The bacon is perfect! Donut prices have gone up slightly to about a buck a piece. Still not a bad deal for the wonderful variety and quality. Not only do they have flavor-packed breakfast sammies, their lunch menu has some pretty sweet options as well! Quality lunch meats, soft breads, definitely a great place to stop. But come early, they are only there for breakfast and lunch! Also, service has been so much better lately! They must have canned the unhelpful and bored teens, the ladies here now have been super sweet and very nice! Very cheery, which is what you would expect from a morning place. Although small and in a parking lot that is in major need of maintenance and repair, this little gem is well worth stopping by... it's nice to see that there is always a nice flow of people keeping them in business. After our last visit, we've decided we need to frequent a little more often than just every few months. Great job Wendi's, see you again soon! CHEERS!!

In case you do not know, donuts are a good friend of mine. I've tried stopping by Wendi's Donuts several times in the past, but each time they have been closed. Finally stepped through their doors a couple of weeks ago. The shop was clean. Service was good. Prices were more than fair. My two donuts tasted good. Got a Blueberry donut and a Custard filled Chocolate donut (my favorite). I'd rate the Custard Filled Chocolate donut 4 stars. At least for the donut I received, the donut to custard ratio was off. There was too much donut and not enough custard. Blueberry donut was 3.5 stars. Overall, Wendi's Donuts is a good donut shop to patronize. I'd be a regular if I lived in the neighborhood.

Some good stuff and so cheap! Went easy on cream cheese and turned out amazing. Very good donuts too. Also dozen for 8$!

WOW! So I walked into the office pleasantly surprised to find this monstrously large food item wrapped in white paper on my desk. My coworker brought me a ham, egg and cheese croissant for breakfast. What an awesome gesture! I unwrapped that sucker and was quite enthralled when I laid eyes upon that large super buttery croissant, heaping with ham, fluffy egg and oozy cheese. My first bite was heaven, the rest was a merry tip toe down buttery lane. I hear their coffee is deelish too.

Very clean, has a nice coffee shop feel

This place is a really a hidden gem. Much cleaner and well decorated than most donut shops I've visited. Most of the food is hand made. There are nice tables and chairs with a good view. You feel like you are escaping the busy work week. I like their lemon poppy seed muffins and their iced mochas. Donuts are delicious too!

Wendi's is a locals secret for the BEST SANDWICHES. You get 2-3 times the amount of meat than anywhere else, plus the veggies are always FRESH and crisp. You get what you pay for, I won't buy my son Subway anymore. Their cold cuts are of low quality meat & cheese plus they only put 3 ounces of meat on a 6" sub, then pile high the veggies to make you think your getting more. I frequently visit Wendi's for donuts, sandwiches, smoothies and MY favorite, veggie sandwich on squaw bread...OMG

Terrible hours. Terrible selection. I went at 9 am on a weekday, employees busy watching tv, and three different donuts to choose from.

I met a friend there to catch up & they let us sit there for a couple hours - We were aware & made sure no one needed our table though! The oddest thing happened... a guy came in, ordered & sat down. I can only guess that he just worked out cuz, as he was waiting for his food, he put his foot up on top of the backrest of a dining chair & proceeded to massage his leg with a massage gun. Then of course did the other leg. Oh and while doing so, he played music from his iPhone very loudly, to cover up background music playing in the restaurant. -- Is this what people are doing now?

It's very standard fare at standard pricing. It gets the job done if you're hungry. I was sad to see a piece of bacon in what was supposed to be a vegetarian selection. I didn't complain because they were busy, but I do wish they'd be more careful because it had me dissecting the rest of my omelette with insecurity about the contents. On the plus side, the fruit cups have more than just melon in them: pineapple, strawberry, orange and green melon, blueberries, and blackberries. Solid mix. It was strange to me that I had to ask for jelly to go with my sourdough toast. We also had to go up to the front where you order to get water refills. Again, none of this was major... just led to a really "meh" experience. Maybe they were just having an off day? We had to wait for a table. The food doesn't come out together, so the kids were a little antsy when my husband and I each had food but they didn't. There were no coloring sheets for kids so I had them drawing on napkins on the tables with pens that I just happened to have in my purse. Food was simple and fine but not anything special. Just not in a hurry to come back to this one.

But now that I've kind of moved on from my Bennie phase, I found myself staring at the menu wondering what to order instead. After going back and forth for a while, I decided on the Serrano Chicken Sandwich - and it ended up being a great choice according to our server. It had a really nice spicy kick, and I especially loved the crunchy onions that added extra texture to every bite. I picked the mixed greens salad as my side, though the dressing made it a little too sour for my taste so I couldn't finish it. My boyfriend, who's a big omelette person, ordered the veggie omelette. It was decent, though I do wish they offered more than just 4 omelette options on the menu. Overall, still a good brunch spot with good food and a nice atmosphere.

I can't remember everything we ordered, but I will say what stood out to me were the Lomo Saltado and Smoked Salmon Waffle. Lomo Saltado's portion was a bit small, but my friend really enjoyed her plate and she said the flavors played off one another wonderfully. The Smoked Salmon waffle inherently doesn't sound like anything special, but I was so glad I ordered it. The fresh ingredients featured weren't overly salty, the portion-to-price point ratio was a nice surprise, and the waffle itself was quite fluffy. I really enjoyed this. Funny enough, I had to take the other half home because I was so stuffed. They have a good selection of American food, and I ordered chicken risotto ($24) from the "favorites" section of the menu. Portion sizes here are good, and we were very full after dinner. Service here was basic, and we got everything we needed. Friday night is also a peak time at Downtown Fullerton, so it was hard to find parking spot. However, the ambience here was relaxed. While the chicken risotto was pricy, I enjoyed the mixed flavors and large portion size. The flavor came from the caper-parmesan beurre blanc sauce. It's a slightly creamy butter sauce with mild sweetness and added flavor from white wine. The capers added a very welcome tangy and savory seasoning to the sauce; they're one of my favorite garnishes. The flavors from the breaded chicken and risotto weren't too strong. However, I would've liked the dish more with if they put less parmesan because I enjoyed the flavor from the beurre blanc sauce the most.

My ube latte was yummy and had a good mix of coffee flavor and ube with coffee being the dominant flavor. As an ube lover I wish the ube flavor was a bit stronger, but it was still really good.
