My family and I came to this Wendy's late at night after a long day, just looking for a simple dinner. We didn't realize the lobby was closing soon, but nothing was communicated to us when we walked in. One employee was already cleaning tables before we even sat down, which is normal and not an issue. What was an issue was the behavior that followed. After we got our food and sat down, the same employee came out from the back and let out an exaggerated, loud sigh that everyone in my family clearly heard. He then proceeded to stare at us and walk around the entire lobby muttering to himself. It was uncomfortable, unprofessional, and honestly rude. He kept saying his own name over and over, so I guess this is directed to you, Braden. If you're frustrated about having customers close to closing time, that's something to take up with management not to take out on paying customers who were never told to leave. Wendy's is one of my favorite fast food joints and it's quite unfortunate that I have to trek almost 2 miles to the nearest location, which happens to be this particular Wendy's in the Woodlawn Shopping Center. I'll admit the times I've been here, I've only ordered through their the drive-through during the morning hours which haven't been busy the times I've gone. I've also made it a point not to expect much inside (and even dine-in) if the exterior is dated and unappealing. In my experience of ordering here, service hasn't been terrible but it's not extraordinary. They haven't messed up an order, however, in a recent visit they did forget to include an item I ordered and thankfully I hadn't left the drive-through window so I was able to flag down someone to fill that order (which did take a hot minute but I'm not complaining). The reason I'd give the rating an above average score is mainly for the food. So far nothing seemed to be "sold out" or "unavailable", therefore, I've been able to order my usual menu items. Personally, I think the food is just better quality than McDonald's. The beef patties and the chicken is always juicy and delicious. I'm even impressed by how much their chicken nuggets have improved--plump, juicier, and beautifully crispy on the outside. I'll even add that I like that the kids menu comes with interactive activities, games or toys that parents and children can do together. I can appreciate the non-branding of kids meal toys, for sure. Overall, maybe if this particular Wendy's location can update their look, inside and out, I'm sure it would boost morale and bring in more hungry customers. I ordered a Spicy Chicken Sandwich, these used to be great but the last 3 I received have been so thin and 80% breading. They exchanged one today as I checked it before I left and it was worse than the one I turned in. I will not be ordering any more spicy chicken. Service is typically slow at this location and there is really 1 person on shift who can communicate effectively. I don't care if you raise prices to make a quality sandwich, just fix it. I don't know what happened but I think they have new staff because its much improved. I ordered a double cheeseburger with only onions, pickles, mustard and mayonnaise. I said those were the only things I wanted on it . As I pulled away from the ordering station the young lady said" sir?" But I was already gone and the car behind me had pulled up . I stopped in here for lunch today right at 11am. It was great to see that they are finally allowed to open their dining room. I've never been a big fan of drive thru windows, and more often than not, I will take my meal to eat inside. So this is a welcome relief because I love Wendy's. Today there was someone at the register ready to take my order! This again is a big plus for me, because far too many times at other fast food chains, the employees pay more attention to those customers in the drive thru. I ordered the Baconator Combo Meal which is basically a hamburger with bacon and cheese. The combo includes fries and a drink if course. Figured give it a shot since it was just all redone. Not even reopen a week and place was disgusting. Walked in and it smelled like they had a sewage back up. I rarely order food but have ordered twice from here in the past 6 months via Uber Eats. Both times my orders were completely wrong. Today I ordered a salad, which was clearly listed on the receipt and I got some fried chicken sandwich. I ordered an unsweet tea and got a regular cola and I ordered a small chili with onions and sour cream but got nothing. I've been 31 years next to this Wendy's and gave up on it quite some time ago. Today I made the mistake of returning, because Subway (next door) had a broken drink machine. It's dirty in Wendy's, and the floor is sticky and full of debris at 12:33. Takes 9 minutes to get to the register because - there is only one. Then it took 11 minutes to get my very simple # 1 combo to the counter. I am here 20 minutes before my tray is ready, except its not. No fries ..... I asked three times for my fries, then gave up when I was ignored. So didn't even get what I paid for. And the ketchup dispenser was empty as well. Do yourself a favor and go to the McDonalds across the street or the Roy Rodgers 2 blocks south. They are far cleaner and more efficient, with a trained staff that knows their job. Drive thru is incredibly slow and the food is below par for Wendy's. Sometimes I've not even gotten a response at the drive thru. Inside is also bad, VERY SLOW and the inside is old and dirty. This Wendy's is in need of new ownership. I've gone a handful of times over many years and left each time disappointed. I returned recently hoping things had changed but still awful. The management/owner skimps on food products at every opportunity to maximize profit. My cheeseburger had one little curled up piece of lettuce, a slimy end piece of a tomato and half of a slice of American cheese. Really? So this location averages 2.5 stars, I'm actually surprised that it's not 2 even. Fast food in general is not exactly gourmet but there's something about every single fast food place along Richmond Highway that is especially bad when it comes to either taste, customer service or sometimes even how long it takes to get your order, this Wendy's location is no exception. The food is barely edible, they weren't ready or prepared to make a chicken sandwhich and the fries were like clay. I'm not sure if it's just the 2 Wendy's in Alexandria but the Wifi is not easy to access or has a mediocre signal if you do get connected. We were traveling with a bus load of 37 eighth-graders and five adults. We stopped in at this Wendy's on our way back to the airport... unannounced. I was very impressed with the greeting we received. Normally if we stop in announced at a fast food restaurant, the employees do not appear very happy to see 42 people walking at once. Quite the contrary, we were greeted with a smile and received very friendly service! I was impressed to the point of being shocked at the speed of service. Our students quickly placed their individual orders and received their food and drinks promptly. In walking around to the tables and asking how the food was, they were very pleased with the quality of the food as well as the amount of food for the price they paid. When the students finished ordering, the owner came out and chatted with us. As we got ready to leave, he asked if there's anything else we needed and offered to give us bottles of water or more beverages. Overall it was an amazing experience considering what we as chaperones expected. We will now probably make this a regular stop on our way back to the airport each year after visiting Washington DC and Alexandria. read more

The staff was arguing about orders in front of the customers, and only one person up front with others around not willing to assist. This Wendy's was the worst one I've ever been to. We ordered two chicken nuggets meals. One had two sets of fries & no chicken nuggets. The other was missing nuggets. We had to explain twice what was wrong. They took back the bag. They gave us the wrong number of nuggets again. The fries had no salt-but that may be normal for them. The kids meal we ordered for our daughter only had 3 nuggets instead of 4. They didn't give her the drink. We had to ask for the chocolate milk. The one they gave us was warm. We ordered honey mustard & ketchup & they didn't give us either until we asked again for it. They were frustrated when we asked for ketchup. read more
