This has to be the worst Wendy's when it comes to their drive-thru service. I have waited in the drive-thru up to 20 mins before just to give my order. Half the time, the inside isn't open after 4pm. Like wtf!! But when you finally get your food, it's fresh. read more

This restaurant has absolutely deplorable service. You can never expect the food or drink(s) you've ordered to actually be correct. I pulled up, I'm the third car in line, it took about 25 minutes to get to the speaker. Just to be told the drive thru was down. So I went inside because I was told not many people were in line. Another 30 minutes inside. I informed the manager they should put something up to block the drive thru, she informed me the drive thru was only down because the soda machine wasn't working on that side. Also food was on the floor and they had one poor girl doing almost everything. I like Wendy's food, but I will not be going back to this one. read more

On Wednesday, January 2, 2019 @ 1:30 p.m. I drove to this location for the drive-thru with my Mom to place a chicken on the run lunch order. When my Mom craves a fast food item after driving around with errands of shopping she can get hungry as I drive past many fast food places either on Gratiot or Harper Ave. Today after our weekly stop at a bakery nearby approximately 3 blocks away, she put a request in for chicken tenders. So we cruised here with only 1 car ahead of us so happy to see no line or long wait. The drive-thru speaker was clear to hear a "Welcome to Wendy's my name is Dimetri how may I help and take your order.?" He took our ordered and repeated and the screen showed our total money amount due. Great feature here with a screen of my food purchase. I did not walk inside so I'm not sure how to review this location, maybe in warmer weather or Spring. My Homestyle Chicken Asiago Club was layered correctly along with their soft honey bun I believe? ! No error on my sandwich only. Mom thoroughly enjoyed her choice of a 4 piece chicken tender combo medium fries with a medium Fanta freestyle starwberry drink she was so happy to share with me at her home. Dimetri was kind enough to ask her at the window to pay, her choice of dipping sauce. BBQ sauce it was and in our bag was 2 containers. Our drive time to Mom's to indulge in lunch was less than 10 minutes so our food was still fresh and hot. We hope to stop back here to dine inside and review the interior and service. Four stars for this Wendy's on a chilly winter day for lunch. The Popeye's location down the way near Kelly Rd., is STILL NOT ON MY LIST of favorite chicken place after a bad experience at their drive thru plus with service and meal. The girl at the window told us to back up and pull up closer she wasn't going to reach out that far. Wow ok. Then told us the fries weren't ready pull forward they would bring them out. Worst experience ever. first they did not see my order then when they fulfilled it wrong, an had an issue with fixing it going back and forth as if I've made the mistake. I laid all items out on my dashboard except the fries because they spilled out of the bag and showed them what they had given me and it was wrong. It took at least four times of passing bags through the window before it was done correctly, and I don't like people that play on my phone and they so-called mad at me. Sent son to order Baconator meal & 8/10 piece nuggets. Asked for WHOLE order to be Cooked FRESH. He was asked to pull over while order was "Freshly" prepared. I live ONE MINUTE away from the restaurant. When my son got home with my order. They were Out of the Strawberry Pink Lemonade and NONE of my order was FRESHLY COOKED. Wendy's just got game. Apparently Wendy (the actual Wendy) that Dave Thomas named Wendy's after has improved the burger with a thicker juicier patty and new improved premium toppings. My biggest beef with Wendy's has been "Where's the Beef?"... a flat dry patty with toppings that where pretty lame as well as one of the worst pickles in the biz. It didn't used to be this way, back in the late 70's when Wendy's starting popping up around my area the burger was a treat, kind of like how people now consider 5 Guys or Sonic a treat. It was also a thicker juicier burger, the slogan back then was "Hot & Juicy" and let me tell you, it was hot & juicy! Something happened in the 80's, the story I heard was the FDA made everyone post fat content and Wendy's freaked out and started putting out a leaning beef. That's nice, but I don't eat fast food burgers for "nice" I like to get bad. So back to basics, this burger has 3 things that are major improvements that impressed me over the one they've been serving. Thicker, juicier and an improved pickle. It doesn't quite taste like the olden days but I think I can safely say Wendy's got it's game back. This particular Wendy's only deserves 3 stars which is decent in fast food reviews because with me they have been notorious for not hitting the fries with enough salt when they come out of the frier. The pop doesn't seem to have enough syrup because the flavor is watered down. The service this past time was great and pleasant but in the past few years it has been one of the least pleasant overall of the fast food row on 9 mile. Comment: This might sound like hypocrisy but I definitely think people should eat healthy but if I'm going to order a burger it best not be healthy. Fast food used to be considered a treat but nowadays it's de rigueur. Great updated restaurant. Excellent customer service and good quality food. The only bad thing is the manager did not seem very appreciative of her employees when they were certainly delivering a cut above experience. This place is very ugly from the outside but you are surprised to see a beautiful environment once you enter. Poor service by the worker who will literally cut you off while ordering at the drive thru and then get pissy and proceed to start cussing loud enough to clearly hear while the window was closed when they get the order wrong from not listening properly and making fun of people with literal hearing aids. I went through the drive through of this restaurant last night for 2 salads. I could not recall the name, which is the Chicken Pecan Salad, and I must have sounded like screw ball describing it, but Erica - Manager, and Terrell - Drive through cashier were so helpful. Terrell completed my order, I didn't need to request ANYTHING. There was the perfect amount of napkins, dressings, etc. He had the biggest smile on his face, and treated me like I was dining at a 5 star restaurant. That young man is going places, and even though he is young (i'm guessing about 18 years old), he is management material. I was so thoroughly impressed by the staff, their teamwork and their demeanor, I had to let the corporate office know. I must also add I called today to get the employee's names, and a wonderful man named Dimitri took the time to let me describe the employees, though I could hear they were busy in the background, and gave me their names. My husband and I are officially done with this wendy's location. The staff are rude. The food is always cold and old. The beef patties are charred to the point that they barely exist. They never get the order correct. Last time we were there, my husband ordered two Jr bacon cheeseburgers. Neither of them had bacon on them. Never again. read more

Worst Wendy's I have ever been to in my life so far, probably at all. For starters, the staff was very unprofessional. Not that fast food is expected to be a black tie event in any setting, but there is a level of etiquette expected from someone who is providing you a service in exchange for your money. An employee, in uniform, was off the clock and loitering at the counter just chatting with the people that were working, and distracting them horribly. My order was goofed at least 4 times before I even sat down with it. And when I did, there was 3 more mistakes. For instance, when you order a Monterey ranch chicken sandwich, you would think it's an easy sandwich to make. MONTEREY IS IN THE NAME! And they forgot to put any cheese whatsoever on it. How? The staff is also a little dim, and that's saying a lot because you don't need to be a genius by any means. I love Wendy's burgers and they are one of my favorite burgers to eat but this location on 9 Mile does not always have the freshest or most tasty food. I have had a couple burgers pink on the inside or burnt in other cases with not enough toppings. The service is pretty poor at this location, especially if you go inside to order. They will ignore you a lot at the counter. The fries are cold the majority of the time and not enough salt on them. I will NEVER spend a dime at this restaurant after this visit. I stopped in to get some chili because my wife was having a craving. As usual the drive thru was backed up and the lobby was empty. I went inside and waited while an employee stood there talking to her friend. After about 5 minutes, she yelled back guest up front. Then went back to ignoring me. After a few more minutes of this, I just walked out. I guess I wasn't important enough for them. That's ok though, I went right down the street to Tim Horton's and got served immediately. And it turns out their chili has better flavor anyways, so I guess I should thank the lazy employee at Wendy's. read more
