I was at this location yesterday. First we stopped to eat further up the road and my son said there were no french fries. I had to go back to get the fries they did not put in. I can't eat very much so I only ate my chili and was going to bring my salad home for later. I arrived home and I was upset to find out the salad was horrible and they didn't even include the tortilla chips. I doubt I will go back. The employee at the window was speaking another language to someone outside and was totally distracted. Not happy and will avoid that location. read more

Let me start of by saying this VERY, VERY rude coworker was very unpleasant to customers, and her Coworkers. Im not going to use names, While me, my brother and dad were there she started talking to "herself" what it seemed like, she was talking about her "life story" and started making rude jokes about her coworker than laughed it off. Also she was very loud and she ruined our meal,And when my father when up to "the rude coworker" and Kindly asked her to stop, But she proceeded to keep on being very loud. I was pleasently surprise that they had a full crew,however my friend and I were not allowed to order with a crew member, we had to use the one and only computer touch screen. For some reason the screen couldn't feel the touch of our fingers and took several times to place order. The screen said it would only take credit cards/atm, I asked one of the crew what happens if I only had cash. she said she didn't know, I said "ask someone!" I was told that they accept cash at the drive thru. I don't drive! The food was cold because the fries are placed on the tray while the rest of the order is prepared. overall the quality was poor. A quiet little Wendy's location in Exxex Junction, probably the only one for many miles around. Overall, well run. Food is always as expected and cooked quickly. The service can be the problem. I have been here 4 times. 2 times was helped by a younger person who was on point, superb service. The other 2 times helped by an older person who the last time I was in, spent over 4 minutes talking to a lady (friend) at the front counter. My wife and I had come in, another couple behind us, and a family behind them... Waiting... She gave a quick glance at the folks coming in and continued to talk to her lady friend about what time she got off and what ever else. Overall, food quality, Great. The front guy tries his best to keep things as simple as possible for all the employees who seem to struggle with multiple mobile orders and unfortunately in his attempt he comes off as rude. While I was there, he got cussed out by a customer who was complaining he didn't listen to his order. Anyways, food came out quickly since it wasn't busy. I like this Wendy's because I've seen them cleaning the kitchen thoroughly and the employees are always very friendly. I'll admit, the inside of this Wendy's isn't much to look at- the furniture and carpet could really use some updating. However, the service and cleanliness has always been the biggest factor for me with any fast food chain, and I have to say that this Wendy's ranks #2 for best customer service and cleanliness as far as fast food restaurants I've been to in the state of Vermont! If the furniture and eating area were updated this could be a 5 star Wendy's easily! read more

Wife and I visited Wendy's yesterday on a rare occasion - and were absolutely appalled by their soft drink dispenser. As it dispensed ice and soda - black specks of mold/fungus were dropping into the drink and on the ice. Black chunks of mold/fungi were all through our drinks and on the ice - and as they have a single machine that dispenses all drinks - any and all drinks from it are unclean and potentially illness causing. Until this is resolved - and the machine is broken down and cleaned - my wife and I will not be visiting this place of business. Absolutely inexcusable for a restaurant turning that much business to be allowing their customers to be served something clearly in need of being cleaned and sanitized. read more

Staff is very rude and doesn't get the orders right and when you go in and let them know. They accuse you of stealing. Perhaps y'all should do better and not be so rude to your customers. I must have been lucky (or something) the last ten or so times I've came to this Wendy's. I've been to a Wendy's in North Carolina that was by far the worst Wendy's I've been to so far, it was really "meh" on the several occasions I went there. Usually the food is really good, fairly fast (not as fast as McDonalds tho), seems fresh and I've had some fantastic customer service here, like so good I complimented the drive - thru guy to his manager. He was clearly happy and didn't possess the dead man walking fast food tone of many, MANY fast food workers. It made my lunch break actually. That is saying something. I usually get a single Dave's hot and juicy, which is one of my favorite fast food burgers. Some spicy chicken nuggets and on occasion a frosty. Usually no regrets. Never has made me sick. It's better than the McDonalds next door and on the same level as the KFC down the road. read more

Foods ok if they can get your order in the computer. Good luck I waited 20 min in drive thru just to get to window an they couldn't figure out my order. The Wendy's franchises have been one of my favorites since 1980. I am sad to report that this one in Essex Jct needs help. I ate there 12-8-18 about 3:30 PM. The experience was so horrible I wish I had taken a video. The unshaven late middle age homeless looking guy was taking the order, the people out back were preparing the order, it was packaged then put up front where the order taker would put it on the counter and call around the your order was ready, then he would take another order and the same procedure. I was fourth in line and it took me about 20 minutes to get to order. The double cheese burger had so much condiments on it that it was driping and sliding apart. The floor behind the counter was so filthy with fries and bags it looked like the dump. Very sad indeed. read more

The majority of the employees here are NOT the brightest bulbs on the tree; either that, or they purposely like to continually get some patrons orders wrong. I realize it's a fast-food establishment but they are the only Wendy's in a 20 mile radius. My wife went through the drive-thru tonight to get dinner and redeemed a credit we had from our last visit because they forgot the chili for my taco salad and my wife's baked potatoes was missing all condiments and cheeseburger was also devoid of any cheese or condiments??? How does this happen in 1 order? Well, she just arrived home and again her burger is missing cheese and condiments and no fries!! Unbelievable! You would think that the employees would pay EXTRA attention when a customer orders a re-do!? No matter what your job is; do it with pride and competence or don't do it at all. read more

We like going here. The reason am giving this Wendy's a three stars is not because of the food or help that's great. It is because I have been there many times and two times they have literally had the heat off. It felt like the a/c was blowing on you. This would be ok if this were in July but it was in December. We had to eat are food in are car it was so cold. I even asked a customer next to me if it was cold or was it me. He said yes its very cold in here. I also talked to a friend who goes here and he said he had the same complaint. Turn the heat on or get it fixed this is crazy. read more

There was an icky sweet/spoiled smell about the whole restaurant (like the smell of filthy bar mats during a night of Marti Gras in The Big Easy). But I pressed on, because I'm sick like that. Customer ahead of me complained that the ketchup dispenser was empty - manager just blew it off and continued taking orders. With my meal, I ordered a small chili with cheese and onions. I was served the smallest portion size ever. When I questioned it - the manager affirmed the 3/4 full bowl was accurate. Hands down the worst example of a Wendy's restaurant that I've seen. It's most unfortunate that a once great fast food franchise as fallen into the trap of uber efficient operation over quality. Once upon a time, Wendy's cooked using classic large grill methods (the way Five Guys does today), but now they use two sided half fry half steamed clamshell cookers that make terrible tasting burgers. I can not categorize this Wendy's as fast food. They are not fast by any means. The communication in the drive thru is often hurried and rude from the teenage staff working the night shift. It is not uncommon to come here and wait 8-10 minutes in the drive thru before you can place an order. And the inside closes at 10 pm! They might be a little faster if the employees weren't outside smoking and instead inside and doing their jobs. The McDonalds next door is open 24 hours inside and out. The food is okay here generally if you don't get the fries. If not for the food here I would rate zero stars. read more

WILL MESS YOUR ORDER UP WHEN BUSY. I order at the drive thru once a month for the past 2 years being stationed here. Today, they seemed busy for a Sunday at 1:30. When I placed my 2 combo order, the girl on the intercom said "anything else?". I replied, "small chili". She said "thats it?", as to hurry me up. I Told her yes. At this point the drive thru was packed. I felt rushed in the drive thru and paid and left. Only to realize no chili. I turned around and went inside and there was 10 people on line. No wonder, they were slammed. After 10 min on line, I told the girl with the manager there that "I just left the drive thru and I wanted a small chili. I Had my receipt in hand and was not charged but was in line for 10 min in the drive thru and now on line inside."They just looked at me and charged me for the chili. Although the manager apologized when he gave me the chili I was annoyed at this point and the manager could have just gave me the chilis for my troubles. I will NOT be returning, poor customer service and then a failure to be aware of the customers experience all because they were to busy to see what was going on. read more

I went to the Essex Jct. location last evening with my husband and ordered the 3 piece chicken strips meal, asking for them to be cooked fresh because of problems I've had there before. The ones they brought me were barely warm, so I know they weren't fresh cooked. I brought them back up and told them. He said they cook more. Once again they brought them to me and yes, they were hot, but they were totally overcooked and hard! I think he just put the same ones back down in the oil. Maybe they think they can fool other customers, but they can't pull the wool over my eyes! I work in fast food myself and it is all about customer service and fresh food. This was not. They probably thought I wouldn't know the difference. Wrong. So, I ended up with a doublestack instead. I had also asked for fries without salt and the ones I got were very salty! I don't think they were paying attention to my order. Needless to say, I won't be ordering the chicken strips there again. And it may a while before I go back there again! read more
