"Apathy Is Our Recipe" I had a coupon for a free combo meal of my choice from Wendy's, as a consolation for my last crap-tastic experience with them. Wendy's, I gave you another chance, but I'm officially done. The Smell The new signature smell of all Wendy's restaurants now is the stinkin' stankin' smell of grease. The smell hits you in the face when you walk in...and it's the only greeting you're going to get from this trash box restaurant chain. The Service I walked in, and just like the other restaurant, there are four people running around frenetically in the kitchen, but I am the ONLY one in the restaurant. I did not observe any drive through customers. The staff is yacking up a storm about nothing. No one is in any kind of uniform, so I guess Wendy's new look is, "come as you are." Anyway, the kid walking around behind the counter is pacing back and forth and making every effort to NOT make eye contact with me. Remember, I am the ONLY one in the place. I don't know if he was "lost in space," but eventually something broke his trance. I'd describe him as lacking any affect. He didn't greet me at all, but asked what I wanted to order. I gave him my order. He was pleasant enough when I asked a question, but he mumbled, and never looked up from the counter. I don't know what was so fascinating about the floor and the countertop, but that is where he chose to look--but never up at me the entire time. The Food A gal (I assume the manager) came from the back, because the guy at the register had no clue what to do with this free coupon. She was the most engaging person of the crew that night. There was a woman and another guy in the kitchen. I saw glimpses of them. I assume they were preparing the food, but who knows. The sure were loud. If I were remotely interested in what they had to say, it wouldn't be difficult to listen in on their conversation. I could hear every word. Back to the food. The sign in front read, "Dip in for our new chicken tenders," so that's what I ordered for my combo meal, with a baked potato and diet soda. This is the gross part. The first greasy tender was almost flavorless, but I hadn't eaten all day and it was 7 P.M. The second tender was a solid piece of cartilage or tendon. I'd never bitten into a piece of chicken like this. It was about a 1/2" rectangular piece of something rubbery and clear running through the entire piece of chicken. If I didn't know any better, I'd swear it were a rubber band. Yuck! Puke! I was done. The Restaurant Remember when Restaurants used to be colorful and fun? Not anymore. This location doesn't even look like the Yelp picture anymore, not that it was ever a trip to Cudahy. They stripped out the carpeting and replaced it with this "greige" tile. If Benjamin Moore had to assign it a color, it would be called "Despair." There was nothing on the off white walls. The upholstered chairs were gone and replaced with these wooden and metal chairs with exposed bolts in them. It was like eating in a prison laundromat. Cleanliness First, I commend the staff for what appeared to be the "effort" of washing their hands. They did this several times while I was there. The problem is, rinsing your hands under cold water for two seconds with no soap is not really doing anything. It is not washing your hands. It's performative. The restaurant itself was not egregious. The tables were clean, for the most part. The restaurant was barren, but hardly sterile. The tile had some spilled soda on it that no one bothered to clean up. the mats were littered with debris--how about one of the four of the staff take out a carpet sweeper or vacuum. Where is the mop? There were little "chits" of paper and straw wrappers strewn about the dining room. The staff did nothing to clean anything, but they sure shot the breeze talking LOUDLY amongst themselves. The soda machine--the one with "over 100 flavors," had splatters of syrup all over it. It's like when you walk into a bathroom stall and it was apparent the last person was sick. You all know what I'm talking about. The Attitude Wendy's has "given up." It's apparent they just hate the public. The dining rooms alone discourage you from wanting to be there. They are not warm, welcoming, or colorful. The staff in any of these restaurants does not greet you. Heck, you have to BEG them to wait on you. I stood there for five minutes waiting, hoping, for someone to even witness my presence. It's such a stark contrast between the service you receive when you walk into a Culver's or Chick-Fil-A. I needed salt for my baked potato and had to come to the counter twice and stand there while my food got cold because I could NOT get the staff to SEE me. It's a pervasive problem in ALL the Wendy's I've visited. The food is flavorless. The one star is for the Diet Pineapple Fanta soda. I used to love Wendy's. What happened? read more

I don't normally stop at fast food restaurants but I can definitely say that this Wendy's restaurant if certainly not fast! Ordered a burger inside and waited a solid 20-minutes for my food, the service was just awful. However, when the food came it was hot and very tasty. We have been waiting 20 minutes for one single meal, no substitutions or add ons... and it's still not ready. This service is horrible. If anyone was in front to ask for help, I would request a refund and go to the BK next door. read more

Previously had said this was my go to. No more. @ 1015am the drive thru person was a jerk. 1st snapping at me because I was ordering a breakfast meal. Sorry didn't know people aren't allowed breakfast after 10am. And 2nd if I wanted lunch I would have COME later. Whos bright idea is stop serving breakfast in the MORNING. Food is always good thankfully however wait time is insane, they almost always forget things in your order and by the time you realize it's not there you definitely are not going to want to circle around after 15-20+ min of waiting. Although it was lunchtime, so we like to give grace. We waiting in line on 5/8/25 for about 45 min without even getting to the order. It took roughly 15-20 min for anyone to take our order. I swung by Wendy's last week for a quick lunch before I had to head off to college. I ordered a Dave's double combo with fries and a bottle of water. The food was fresh, and tasty. The service was spectacular. I told the cashier that I was in a rush and he got the food out to me in under 2 minutes! Unfortunately, I didn't catch the man's name, but whoever he is he definitely deserves a raise or at least some recognition for his strong customer service skills. Also, the lobby area was clean, and the ambiance overall was pretty nice. However, the bathroom could have used some attention, it was a bit dirty. Every single one of these complaints going back two years all say the same thing and nothing get corrected. Which means whoever owns this place blatantly doesn't care. Pick up or DoorDash/Grubhub Customers or drivers should not have to wait 30 min to collect the food they PRE ORDERED. read more

This is the worst Wendy's I ever been to Wendy's is usually 98% on the spot who is hot and good but this location long lines on the drive-through and when you drive up, it takes a while for them to take your order. This location is so filthy it is disturbing. Women's bathroom sink did not work, both men's and women's bathrooms REEKED of sewage. Walls of entire restaurant are visibly filthy. Ketchup lines look like they haven't been cleaned in a longgggg time. Ketchup definitely tasted "off". Soda from fountain was flat. Food took over 20 minutes to get and my spicy chicken sandwich tasted like it had been reheated multiple times. Tasted very old. No crisp whatsoever. I hadn't been to a Wendy's in several years, but thought I would try their on line ordering/drive through with the recent COVID-19 situation going on. Wendy's, your staff at the Germantown location are quite apparently not happy they work there and want to make sure you know this. I responded the same day on your website and asked for a call. I never was contacted. My order was incorrect and you have the most unfriendly staffing I have seen. While I thought I would try your restaurant again, I made a mistake in doing so. I wont be back. And yes, I also was told "There's you food" as the window slid reshut. No receipt. No asking if I had everything. Just a "There's your food." This Wendy's didn't let me add a lemonade to my 4 for 4. Our cashier was very snotty and when I asked for fresh fries I watched her put my fries back in the fryer. I am very disappointed fresh and hot are 2 diffrent things. You can also taste the difference because they are more soggy. I also think they need upgrades on their store. I'm only doing one star because the food is good... The lady at the drive threw was so incredibly rude. We asked the difference between the medium and large meal and we were yelled at because her response wasn't making any sense. She yelled at us for laughing when it was in no way related to her. Went to get free frostys after the bucks win. We were given three excuses. 1st, this promotion is over. 2nd, now apparently the frosty machines are down. Then 3rd, I guess they are "closed" now more than 15 minutes before store closing. Get it together. We are on a road trip back to our home in Texas and we needed lunch so we stopped here to get food. We waited half an hour in the drive through to order food and when the finally got us our order the server tipped the drink all over the car! Then, when we pulled over to clean up the mess the manager sent the server out to get our money and wouldn't give us anything to help clean it up! We have been left in a sticky mess for our trip home and I'm fuming! Needless to say we gave them back the drinks and are leaving. If I could give them no stars I would. This is THE worst fast food restaurant i have gone to in over 45 years. The inside was bad! The staff was slow and rude. The counter table and condiment section was filthy. I don't think anything was cleaned in months. So I decided to go through the drive-through this time. And I waited a half an hour for a rude staff again.
