I sat in the drive thru tonight because I simply wanted a cold drink for my ride home. The attendant said, "One minute, mama." So I waited. And waited. I finally asked, "Are you ready?" And she replied, "Just a minute, mama." My name is not "mama" and there were only two cars ahead of me so I pulled up in line. I only wanted a drink so I thought this wouldn't be a problem since the window attendant fills the drinks. Instead of apologizing for never getting my order and instead of being grateful I moved the line forward since I only wanted a drink this attendant proceeded to berate and insult me for not waiting at the order kiosk while cars kept lining up behind me because she was ignoring me. According to her, nothing was her fault and I was wrong to pull forward. Why didn't you just wait, MAMA? The servers behind her were rolling their eyes at her bad behavior. I think they're used to her rotten treatment of customers. Crappy service, and even worse customer treatment at the Wendy's in Kitty Hawk, NC. This woman needs to learn decorum, professionalism and manners. read more

Let's start with the positives: this is one of the nicest and cleanest Wendy's I have ever seen. It is easy to get to from the main road, which is also a bonus. However... this restaurant is so so slow. It easily takes me about 15 minutes to get my order, and it is often incorrect, so make sure to have them repeat the order back to you to confirm. The burgers are decent, run of the mill Wendy's, so nothing to complain about there. The restaurant is always crowded, and most of the workers speak in Spanish, so I'll chalk the order errors up to a language misunderstanding. read more

Consistent poor and argumentative service at this location...the order is never totally correct and when the employee is questioned they get angry and tell me why I'm wrong. Tried to call corporate and leave a review but was told I have to leave my and number for a call back...no supervisor available. I'm almost certain this is NOT what Dave had in mind when he started this business. read more

I must offer this place is always friendly, employees speak to the customers and never had a negative experience here. Our food is fresh, warm and staff is very courteous. One time I even ordered a baked potato here, and the manager came to the window, apologizing, offering the potatoes that were delivered did not look good and she would not give that big potato to a member of her family, and wanted to know if she could substitute it or refund the money. It's been years and I do mean years since the last time I've been to a Wendy's. Why because they have sucked! Seriously, find me a three star store. You can't in Virginia Beach, but how about your city? This visit in the Outer Banks renewed my faith. The service was a drive-thru. No issues ordering or paying, but my order was not complete. I was asked to pull up which I did. However the lot is tiny and I ended up blocking the entry way. A car behind me honked and threw me the bird because I blocked them in. I was able to let them squeeze by. My sandwich came out 3 minutes or so later. The classic chick sandwich was quite tasty. As well as the half chocolate, half strawberry Frosty. This actually surprised me. I would order again. A three star seems to fit, but beware of the compact lot if asked to pull up. read more

Probably the most efficient Wendy's I've ever seen. There are about six ladies in the back slinging burgers like nuts and the drive thru is non stop. They are definitely holding their own and very impressive since the drive thru is unrelenting. Nice job. read more

How and why is this place in business here in the Outer-banks? We stopped in way to our rental. Wish we had just not stopped at all. Total waste of money. Food was nasty.. dry over cooked burger, rotten tomato, hard buns, fries tasted like old oil. No water- said they were sold out, flat and warm soft drinks from the machine. No condiments - empty. I was out with my friends and one of them is young and hasn't ordered at a drive through so we gave him a chance to order and he was very awkward but we thought it was funny so we laughed and so we continued to laugh at our friend who was having trouble ordering and this random lady on the speaker that I assume is the manager yells at us to stop laughing at the guy at the intercom saying we were disrespectful so we just left she could have said it nicely so we could explain why we were laughing but we just left That lady's name was Mimi who was hostile and needs to chill out Who ever the guy was we weren't laughing at you and hope you have a great day read more

Hello, This place was uh.. okay. The food was very good and well cooked. The problem was the service was a little slow. The ambiance was awful. My mothers and I, decided to stop by and get some lunch. I got to the window and ordered our food: double cheeseburger meal with a frosty and chili instead of a fry, a Dave's single with no onion/tomatoes extra pickle, and a hamburger. Pulled to window, paid, got our food, checked it and realized it wasn't correct. So there was no chili (fries were in the bag) and there was cheese on the hamburger. I looked at the receipt and realized it wasn't put in correctly. I try to explain this to the cashier and I'm not sure if she was having a bad day, or if she was new, or just flustered, but her customer service was lacking. I'm not of the "customer is always right" mentality, but what I will not do, is go back and forth at a window and argue about what was not heard/said. Instead of correcting the order, right away, she wanted to harp about how long the line was and having more customers etc. I asked if it would help if we pulled up while the order was corrected and she continued to argue instead of listen. So, I let her know that I was not going to argue and thankfully, another server with a much better attitude and customer service came over to fix the problems and even apologized that the order wasn't correct.
