I took my aunt out for dinner and we settled into a nice outdoor table on a gorgeous Easter Monday…read morenight.. that was at 4:45 pm and an hour later our food had still not arrived. The Caesar salad which eventually came was pretty standard, and I did like the zest of the jambalaya penne. The waitress also forgot my aunt's order of mineral water. I really liked the mango mule! But to sit over an hour waiting for food is unacceptable

The location is on the main strip of Tsawassen and is pretty trendy. Their is outside seating (including blankets and a small fire pit). They also take reservations which is a bonus. We came early on a Friday. My sister loves this place and I definitely preferred her dish to mine. I got their soup of the day ($6.50 for a cup). The serving and presentation was beautiful. The soup was roasted cauliflower with smoked cheddar. It was not at all what I excepted. It was brown and thick/lumpy and flavorless. They also don't have salt or pepper at the table (but their servers offer freshly grated parm). I also go a small pizza (feta, spinach, onion). That was $18.99 and again, mediocre. The sauce was flavorless but their crust was nice and crispy. The spinach didn't taste overly fresh either. My sister got their Backed Tortellini with Alfredo. Super rich and garlicy with the perfect cheese, pasta, sauce ratio! I loved her dish. Service was great. It was just ok for me.

Everything we've ordered is super flavourful and perfectly cooked each time. It's usually not too busy even weekend lunch / brunch time. Restaurant is really cute and has soft upbeat music. I will be coming back for my highlights: oysters, triple-cooked garlic fries, london fog milkshake. Eating here got me wondering why other places didn't take the time and care to triple cook the fries lol I have had duck wings before but I gotta say, these were a fairly big in size. I just wished there was a bit more sauce! BUT OVERALL, I would order it again. It's located in Steveston B.C, they are known for sourcing locally grown ingredients and their playful rotating menus that change as the seasons do. Whenever we stay at the "Coast T" hotel, we enjoy checking-in and then heading downstairs for some…read morerelaxation and great food. (We've been doing this every December for years.) The food at Browns is still pretty darn tasty. The noise level (restaurant area) was unusually loud. Our server had difficulty hearing our order, and we could not hear him. (This was early evening on a Thursday. I might expect a harsh cacophony on a Saturday night when a game was on TV, but a Thursday?) We moved into the bar area, where the noise was a bit below airport-runway levels. I'd also recommend bringing along a flashlight (or flashlight app) to read the menu. I've got 20-20 vision, and had quite a bit of trouble reading in the darkly lit dining room. The food, of course, was outstanding.

I ordered Fiesta Fries, Crispy Yam and Avocado roll, and cauliflower bites and was really disappointed with the quality of food. The fiesta fries were not fresh or warm, the toppings were lackluster, and the sprinkle of feta was disappointing (see photo). The roll was better but the rice was over cooked and soggy. The cauliflower was fresh but lacked any flavor (unless you drenched it with the sauce) My sister ordered the steak and pasta and she really liked it and the portion/price was great. I should have stuck with my usual tofu bowl which is always a hit!

Although we sat in the dining side, we were able to hear the live music playing in the lounge which was amazing. I loved the Brussels sprouts and potato skins. We also ordered the bolognese which was nothing out of the ordinary. One downfall was our service. It took over ten minutes before we had our drink order taken. When our entrees arrived, three out of the six meals were brought to the table over 5 minutes after the initial three dishes were served. A male who we assumed was the manager approached our table, asked us how our evening was, said "great okay thank you" and walked away. It was a nice gesture, however the interaction was not very professional. I would come back for happy hour !

We were invited to sit anywhere although a few tables did have a reserved sign on it. Reservations are recommended on weekends, which there are not a lot of places to go so this would be the most popular place! There are a few booths along the windows which would be a great place to watch the sunset or water inside on a colder day. The food selection is mostly standard Tavern fare. I chose the Reef's Point Bob Burger which includes lettuce, tomato, cheese, grilled onions and sautéed mushrooms. I asked to hold the mushrooms. I was not expecting this food to be as delicious as it was. The fries were crispy and plenty of them. The burger and toppings are all fresh. Their honey mustard dipping sauce is just wonderful. Enjoyed the pickle slice on the top as part of the presentation. I'd like to go back and try their other options!
