Came in today (Feb 16, 2026) around 7pm with a buddy. We were seated quickly as it wasn't too busy and only about half full. We were greeted after a few minutes by Allie (I may have the name wrong, it was either Aly or maybe Kiley?) a very pleasant and friendly server. We were already prepared for what we wanted to we ordered immediately. She brought our drinks out and we waited quite some time for our order, probably 20 minutes. It definitely wasn't the servers fault she brought fresh drinks out while we were waiting. She apologized for the delay. Finally we got our entrees but we were told they had no biscuits and were making fresh ones. The food was good as usual, I ordered the Chicken and dumplings with cinnamon apples, hash brown casserole and green beans but we never got our rolls/biscuits even as we were leaving. The chicken dumpling gravy was more watery than I remember but it tasted ok. This makes my 2nd visit in a row to this location in which something was wrong or easily fixable. Also one of the faucets in the bathroom didn't work and the floor needed a good mopping. Have always been a fan of Cracker Barrel. Even try to stick with them as their recent CEO ( who resigned last week) tried to fix what wasn't broken with the restaurant chain and faced national pushback on her ideas and changes. Maybe they're in recovery mode from her these days. At the Cartersville, GA location today, my To-Go order experience today was pretty rough. 1. Got my order mixed up with another customer. 2."Your order will be ready in 5 minutes." ( I was voluntarily told when I called) turned into 20 minutes after I arrived. 3. Had to go back inside after pick-up because they forgot to put in eating utensils. 4. Chose not to go back inside a 2nd time to ask for the fresh onion they asked me if I wanted...but didn't include. 5. The humble little meal I ordered (my CB go-to) is delicious, typically...Beans and Greens. Today each bowl had bits of hash browns in them. Helps me now know more why their Health Dept. score I couldn't help but notice during the 20-minute wait in line was 83 B!. But I had already paid for my order. Oh. And the place smelled like dirty mops and dishrags. I will give CB a few more chances, but I'm done at the Cartersville location. I'm a pretty low-maintenance gal and my name isn't Karen. Cracker Barrel used to be one of my go-to restaurants. They have over the last 3 years worked their way almost to the top of my stay-away list. They now have a woke CEO who knows better than the prior CEOs what the hicks want. And she's just plain wrong. They've reworked the menu, taking off many crowd favorites like ribeyes, pork chops, fried flounder, etc. What remains on the menu is unadulterated garbage. How do they stay in business selling this trash? I had the misfortune to eat at this particular one last week, only agreeing to eat there because my adult son chose it. I feel sorry for the servers, who work hard at making your experience as pleasant as possible under the circumstances. But no amount of attentive service compensates for a menu full of gross food choices. Had the country fried steak - what a mess. Had cold mashed potatoes and decent pinto beans as accompaniments. My final thought as I overpaid at the register? NEVER AGAIN. Maybe their haughty, know-it-all CEO will get rightfully sacked and they'll choose someone relatable to their clientele. The wait for our food was incredibly long for over 35 mins after we ordered. They were said that they were short staffed in the kitchen. Which I am sure is something that is happening, the challenge is not really anyone management wise checking on us. Saw the manager standing around, not really checking in any customers and then not really helping any employees in taking care of the customers. I feel like just very poor management. They were out of soup and salad those are the two things we knew of. The waitress said they were out of a few things today. We then waited over 15 mins to get our check. The bathrooms were dirty. This Cracker Barrel food and serviced was pretty amazing. We joined the wait online while we were driving about 10-15 minutes away. It was a Sunday morning so it estimated us at about a 30 minute wait for a group of 3 people. Once we got there we checked in, and it took about 10 minutes or so for our table to be ready so we walked around the store. They called our name and sat down at our table. We ordered our drinks and soon after we ordered our food. The food came out pretty quick and meanwhile they kept coming by to make sure we had enough coffee and gave us refills. They were very packed that morning and still had amazing service. By far, one of my best Cracker Barrel experiences. read more

It shouldn't be that hard to get a take-out order to a customer without 4 people trying to figure out where it is... I went in and saw an order in the pick up area. When I reached for it the cashier said "no that order is waiting for doordash". finally after 30 minutes and watching others come and go, I asked if they would check on it. 25 min later, after 3 different people got involved, they realized that my order had been there the entire time, but had the wrong receipt stapled to the bag. So I ended up with a cold, soggy "Friday Fish Fry" and a cold "Country Boy Breakfast". Stupid mistakes, and I'm the sap who paid $40 for it. I should have stayed home and made a peanut butter sandwich. I will never order a take out at CB again. This was my second bad experience with their take out service. Not impressed at all. 1:30 P.M. on a Monday when they were not busy, it took our party of six to receive our food 30 minutes. Server Tia was ok but didn't tell us why the food took so long. My salad had ton of croutons, and huge pieces of lettuce. I like my lettuce cut in smaller pieces. Baked Potato was just a potato. My friends complimented the Pot Roast and Pancakes. Good for them. Always good but always busy. They seem to be embracing more change adding alcohol to the menus and new food choices, but is that really why we come to Cracker Barrel? Just pass the biscuits and keep things fresh and good. This location gets a lot of interstate traffic and the parking lot is difficult to get in and out of. We were seated after a short wait. Service was slow but they were slammed on a Saturday morning. The new lighter breakfast specials seem to be a good value. My wife got the egg sandwich and I got the smokehouse breakfast. Longer than expected wait for food and my coffee cup stayed dry, but like I said they were packed and the wait staff were all working hard. We stopped going to Cracker Barrel several years ago when the prices started rising and the quality fell. But we received some gift cards recently, so we stopped in this one. I agree with another reviewer this CB seems to be poorly managed. After a while, we were finally seated. Our server was off or spacey and we had to keep requesting the same things. Not sure what was going on with her. They were out of normal sides, which is very strange. My meatloaf was burnt. The husband's pot roast was greasy. There seems to be a Cracker Barrel every 20 miles in the south, so surely some of them are better managed. But to tell you the truth, if it had not been free as a gift, CB would never be my choice. read more

My husband and I had not dined at Cracker Barrel in years and were excited to introduce our daughter to the restaurant. She was initially confused by the rocking chairs out front and the gift shop inside but we had a good time shopping around together. The aesthetic of the restaurant is what you would expect from any Cracker Barrel restaurant -- wood tables and chairs with wood panel walls covered in mass-manufactured Southern-style memorabilia. Our waitress wasn't quite as warm and friendly as other staff members that I had met in the past. The food was tasty, but to be honest, not as good as my fond memories. I ordered the Country Fried Steak with sides of Hashbrown Casserole and Fried Apples. The steak and gravy was descent while the casserole was a bit too soft and the apples a bit too sweet. However, the reason that I won't be returning is the wait time. I think our food took at least 45 minutes to arrive. We spent our time chatting, checking our phones, playing the table peg game, and even wandering the gift shop... but still no food. As a restaurant that typically supports highway travelers, setting you back well over an hour from your trip is just way too long. We were in transit from just Cartersville to Woodstock and were still disappointed by how long this stop took from our day. The cherry on top of the experience was that the state of the bathrooms was very poor. I remember trying to steer my daughter out as quickly as possible. I was on a road trip to Alabama so if course we got hungry. I was craving a pancake and Cracker Barrel are the only ones that I will eat other than my own. We right in and were seated immediately. No waiting. That's a good thing. Our server was kool. We gave him a pretty big order and he nailed it . I had Uncle Hershel plate. It was perfect and so was my one pancake. Nice and crisp on the edges. It's the only place I know that make pancakes with crispy edges and the best syrup. For me there were no cons on this visit. read more

Ordered tea with lemon. Got tea, no lemon. Asked again and server brought a 6 inch stack of napkins. Server passed table 7 more times with no lemon. Granddaughter ordered. Server came back to say that particular meal is not offered on weekends. Why didn't the server mention that fact when talking the order? Answer: Because someone in the kitchen had to tell her. My baked potato (butter only) arrived- near raw. I tried to deal with it but fork would not penetrate potato. When brought to servers attention I was told kitchen always had trouble with baking potatoes and would I like mashed instead? My wife asked for lemon (under her breath, hoping I wouldn't notice). Delivered almost immediately. When paying I asked if they would deduct the potato. Manager had to come to correct the amount when I found out the server had charged me for a loaded baked potato. The young lady at the register pointed that out to manager. No apologies from manager (or eye contact) other than "they put a lot of stuff on me" This store suffers from poor management and insufficient training. Still tipped 10% for karma. Server made $7 on a check that I would have easily tipped $20 on. Drive to a better location. read more

The store gets 4 stars, the food only a 2. Usually, Cracker Barrel can be counted on to deliver the same food, regardless of which location you are at, but today's visit was very disappointing. I got chicken and dumplings, okra and broccoli. The chicken and dumplings were on the skimpy side compared to other times/places I've had it. The okra was fine, but the broccoli wasn't even cooked. It was basically raw broccoli that had been warmed and seasoned. I sent it back, and the waitress brought out some that were more cooked than the first portion, but was still undercooked. My husband got the meatloaf and was only able to eat the outside since the center was still pinkish-red (undercooked) and he was afraid to eat it. He also said it was lukewarm and not hot - probably not hot enough because it hadn't been in the oven long enough. The peach cobbler was OK, not great, and a very small portion compared to what it used to be (haven't gotten it in years). I loved browsing around the gift store. I always find a couple of things to buy that are marked way down since their normal prices are SO high. I was hoping to buy a jar of the blackberry preserves that they serve with the biscuits, but they were out of all their jellies due to the holidays. All cracker barrel's seem to be very busy with a full parking lot and a waiting list. Not really sure why. I got breakfast here. I got the country morning breakfast with was just two eggs and grits and they serve inside of two biscuits and gravy with it which I was going to give to my boyfriend. I was disappointed when I got it because the eggs are so tiny there wasn't much white to them. And the grits were in a very small shallow bowl. I tried half of a biscuit because I was still hungry and didn't find it appealing. On a better note the raspberry lemonade tastes just like a sweet tart and was very good. I guess I just ordered the wrong thing for breakfast. We were in a group of nine so I realize it was a lot of work for the server. Plus the restaurant was very busy. Not my favourite experience but I won't beat them up too badly about it. Management did come by several times asking if things were good since we were a larger party so that is nice. read more

This was a stop that was planned. A friend of mine lives in Rome and we agreed that I'd stop on my swoop on the way home from Tennessee and she'd meet us at the exit. Like all Cracker Barrels on a Sunday afternoon, it was busy, but we didn't have to wait to be seated. Our party of three was taken in immediately and given a table. Our waitress was friendly and took our order and made sure that our coffee and Dr. Pepper got to us quickly. Because the husbeast and I had had a big meal before, we decided we just wanted dessert. I had the coke a cola cake and the hubby had the apple dumpling with ice cream. My friend, whom we were visiting had a pancake breakfast with a side of bacon. We chatted and caught up while we waited for our order. When it came, it was exactly what we'd ordered, our cup of coffee never vent less than half full and everything tasted good. The Chocolate cake was exceptionally moist and the crust on the dumpling was perfection. We enjoyed our visit and would visit here again on another such trip. read more

Our party of 12 was there to celebrate a 77th birthday. We called ahead, but they don't officially do call ahead. We arrived at 2pm. I stood at the podium, no other guests in the waiting line, for 10 minutes. I was ignored by 3 different employees, including a male manager, on multiple occasions. When I was finally acknowledged, it was a "has someone else helped you?, no? Ok. Give us a few". I finally said "I'm with this party, we are here". I got no reply. They went on doing whatever they were doing. Finally he said "alright".. We waited 30 minutes before my dad went back up there, where he waited 15 more minutes for someone to speak to him. We saw numerous parties of 8-14 people be seated and receive food before we had even gotten a table. The restaurant was not packed- half of it was nearly empty. We finally get seated. Our server was prompt, and that's the only thing that saved our experience here. We ordered rather quickly, as we had plenty of time to ponder what we wanted while we waited on a table. It took an HOUR AND A HALF to receive part of our food. Then another 10 to get the rest of it. We didn't eat until a little after 4. I spoke to a manager who made the male manager that had ignore me come handle the situation. His idea of fixing anything was removing 2 meals from one of the 3 tickets after stating he'd take care of most of the table. Our goal was not free food. The entire staff needs to be trained. The customer service at this location is severely lacking. The kitchen needs to move a little faster. 1.5 hours on 10 meals (2 of our party were kids eating parents food) is absurd for a business of this size. I haven't visited a Cracker Barrel in years because i visited 2 different locations in metro atlanta and in one I had a cockroach crawl across my table and in the other I had one crawl up the wall just above my table. After Christmas Eve Eve church service a couple of my grandchildren and one of my children suggested this location so I quietly went along. We almost cancelled our order a couple of times because it was taking so long for our food to come out but we were brought some biscuits and weee encouraged to stay. It was over an hour from the time we ordered until our food got to the table. Some of the food was served less than Luke warm and some of the food appeared as though it was scraped off of another plate. We didn't get mad but the server overheard my wife ask me if mine was cold as she was approaching the table and then apologized and said she wasn't going to charge for my meal. My son couldn't eat his food at all and told the server that he wasn't mad but that he was afraid to eat his food. The server said she was going to get the manager but returned with a corrected ticket deducting the charge for his meal too. The server did apologize and said that the kitchen fell behind earlier in the day due to catering and to go orders and just never caught up. It seemed to me there were more issues than that. In any event I won't likely be eating at any Cracker Barrel restaurant again. 3 strikes in a row at 3 different locations. Traveling back home and we stopped here for lunch. We were seated in a decent amount of time thankfully because we were starving! They are socially distancing tables ( September 2020 ) and we were happy to see that. Try the peach tea- it is AWESOME! The nice lady that helped us out was attentive and refilled our glasses in timely manner. We had the french toast plate and the trout plate. Excellent fish, excellent sides. French toast came with bacon that was done enough for our satisfaction. ( we hate soggy bacon ). And as usual, the little store offers many old timey candies, cute trinkets and lots of stuff for kids if you are out shopping. I recommend this location. read more

I've been to this chain restaurant probably 100 times and always thought that they were a little pricey but the food was good and portions were above average.. well, ha.... that is not the case at this location.. appears that they have cut there portion sizes by quite a bit.. my meal was pretty good once I seasoned it.. gravy was bland,biscuits were hard but, for $11, it was a HUGE disappointment...my wife and both couples that were with us said the same..I'm an average sized guy and when we left, all 6 of us had to swing by McDonald's to get something else.. when I spend $11 on breakfast, I expect to be at least semi full but nope.. not if you go here.. This is the worst Cracker Barrel I've ever visited. My wife and I went here a few months ago because their wait time was listed as a bit shorter than the Busbee Pkwy location. It took a while to get our food (about 40-45 minutes), but it wasn't so egregious that we didn't give them another chance. We won't do it again. We arrived today, after checking in early on the app to minimize our wait for a table. We were sat relatively quickly. That's where the good part ends. The waitress took our drink (two waters) and food order and we literally never saw her again. My wife finished her entire water and we were never checked on again. We sat and waited with not so much as an "I'm sorry it's taking so long, guys" or a refill of her water. We're pretty forgiving about long wait times, especially in this post-COVID world where it seems like pretty much everywhere is either understaffed or in desperate need of employees with a decent work ethic. We can absolutely sympathize with that. However, we waited AN HOUR with no one even offering an update on our meal. We eventually opted, regretfully, to just leave the restaurant hungry. If we want Cracker Barrel again in the future, we will be avoiding this location at all costs. The Busbee Pkwy location may take a bit longer to get seated, but at least the service there is attentive and you eventually get your food. Very disappointed. read more
