Very friendly staff and super hot food made fresh. I ordered the small clam chowder and a side of deep fried mushrooms for around 9$. The clam chowder was more like potato chowder and the consistency of the broth was even potato-like. The mushrooms themselves were amazing but the batter was thick and rubbery. Not very good. Very small side of ranch with it. Overall what l had wasn't very good but I've heard their fish is what is the big seller so give that a shot. Maybe its better. read more

Very disappointed with the food. Had grilled salmon. The salad was from a bag from the grocery store which was literally only lettuce. The salmon was dry and that was the whole meal. We left very hungry read more

It's good. I know that sounds like a simple statement, but it describes it pretty well for me. I had it first a few years ago and thought the same thing. It is well-priced for what you get, and I know fish n' chips are fried, but it tasted oily. Some of the best fish and chips I've ever had! The portions are huge, for what you pay for! The service is as great as their food! This has been a special place for us on quick seafood for many years. It has an outstanding atmosphere and has enjoyed a wonderful repuatation for a long time. We always look forward to a great experience when dining here. Yesterday, an anniversary, we made advanced reservations and were given a table by the window as requested. Atmosphere and service lived up to our expectations, but the meals were definitely sub-par - especially considering the price. My friend's salad didn't have enough dressing on it; My salmon was somewhat dry and overcooked and my rice was cold. Although they were replaced upon request, it did diminish the meal. we probably wouldn't go back, but given its itconic status we will likely give them another chance. This was my first stop after the big move to Fresno and I was really pleased. The decor was a bit cheesy but still on the cute side-boats, nets, lighthouses, fish, etc. pretty appropriate given the nature of the restaurant. This is an order at the counter place and they bring your food out to you(at least they did for us since it was slow at midday.) The staff was very friendly and attentive and they have a ton of choices on the menu, many non-fishy. We tried the fish and prawns and also a sampler basket with had scallops and oysters, all fried. I am normally not a fan of oysters but these were delicious. They reminded me of that tangy bite you get from sardines, which I haven't indulged in for years. The batter was perfect, not too greasy or gritty and I thought the Tarter and Cocktail sauces was also quite a few notches above store bought. You can also substitute a salad instead of fries for the more health conscious- we opted for the scrumptious fries. They have an outside patio which seems like it would be great in the evening or cooler months. The place was really clean too (especially the restrooms) which is always a plus. Their fish rivals any on the west coast and in most cases kick their a$$es. Portions are huge and the price is right. The fryer is set just right. If you know anything about deep frying you know the oil can't be too cold or the batter will be greasy by the time the fish is cooked, if you cook it to hot the batter will be dark and over cooked by the time the fish is cooked. Absolutely love this place best clam chowder soup along with awesome fish and prawns. We just keep going back and trying different dishes just the other night I had the salmon very delicious plus the salad was great. My husband had the fish and prawns which he totally loved. First time to eat here yesterday. The place was clean and tidy, the person waiting on me was friendly and helpful. The fish, crab cakes and hush puppies were outstanding! I go to the coast quite often and I have to say, this is better than most of the places I've eaten there. Everything is cooked as you order and it's done to perfection. Now that I've discovered West Coast Fish N' chips, it will be the only place I go for fish N chips in Fresno/Clovis area. If you like deep fried, this is the place to go to. read more
