8/08/26 Getting lunch. Ordered a grilled chicken avocado sandwich no mayo, paid for it and went to pick it up. Arrived, greeted, very kind workers, I also asked if they had breakfast burritos. They were not on DoorDash. The worker was kind and said they do. Ordered a ham breakfast burrito for tomorrow also. Waited inside for it to be made... Music playing. Safe and clean with lots of seating inside. Shortly later, order called. Worker very kind. Already paid for lunch. Paid for lunch & received all with food day wishes!! GREAT!! Lunchtime! Chicken Avocado sandwich is WOW DELICIOUS! Fresh avocado, Tasty chicken,. Cheesy let fresh bun! Dipped in. BBQ sauce made it even better!! Tasty Crinkle fries dipped in ketchup too!! This burrito was a disappointment. It was more beans and rice than anything else. The asada was lightly sprinkled in the middle of the burrito. A majority of the bites did not have meat in them. I ordered two asada burritos and they both were made the same way. Too bad, I had high hopes for this place. read more

Was craving Mexican food on a Taco Tuesday. Wanted to try a place we haven't gone to and this place caught our attention. Drove by this place a million times and didn't know this place was where it was. The sign was a bit faded which didn't make it easy to spot. Once we arrived there was no one there. The only person there, assuming it was the owner greeted us and was very kind. We ordered one asada burrito, asada quesadilla, 2 asada tacos and one chicken enchilada plate that came with rice and beans. It was a one man show, he cooked all of our orders fast and it was beautifully presented. Everything was delicious! The meat was all seasoned well and had great texture. I loved the fact that the outside of the burrito was toasted. Everything was large portioned, had great flavor and good for the price. This place serves a bit of everything. So, several months ago I happen to run across this place (thanks Yelp!) & finally got to try it out last night. I can see why this place has a 4.5, has good food! Green Chicken Enchiladas: The chicken is good, no old or off taste from sitting. Green has a good taste, which is always nice being most don't. Asada Tacos: Definitely good, not chewy or full of fat & gristle. Everything about it was All in all: Good service & clean. Definitely a good go to, everything tastes good along with a "fresh" taste from the onions & cilantro. Being it's close to home, will be a go to. Food looked good enough to drive across town to get. Did that. Here's my thoughts: The owner is super friendly as is the staff. He can be a bit loud, however, which actually hurts my ears... some of us have excellent hearing, and if we're not standing 50 feet away, appreciate the more subdued volume! The restaurant is clean, humble, but practical and nicely laid out ... I like the huge menu on the wall and apparently they can make other things as well like chilaquiles. Just ask. He's been there for about five years and was surprised at some of the attention he's been getting here on yelp. I explained that it's an important tool for him, and he should spend the time to look at and read each of the reviews.... There's always things to learn that can help one improve their business... The restaurant is located on the south east corner in an industrial Park. It's clear that they take pride in their food, the restaurant. It shows and it 'tastes.' I ordered a chili Verde burrito with onions, wet, and a quesadilla with El Pastor add onions. You know me, not only me gravy, but me onions, too!! I would have to describe the food as well balanced. Nothing is too-too. The chili Verde was mild and tasty and the onions added a nice texture. It was perfectly seasoned and nothing was too salty! The quesadilla had a generous portion of meat in it, but was right on the verge of having too little cheese. A little bit more would have been perfect. The food was served HOT temp-wise which is always a plus. Not sure why they brought silverware twice but okay... This is a humble restaurant putting out really good, simple food of great quality. I ordered online to pick up (Doordash website). When I arrived at the restaurant and told the gentlemen I had an online order for an asada burrito, he looked at me like I was from Mars. He then got annoyed and said he would go "prep it". There were quite a few people eating at the tables there and 5 other people waiting in line for orders. When my burrito was ready, I showed him my receipt for payment on my phone and he had an angry face and told me to "just take it!" like I was lying. He made me feel embarrassed in front of the other people and I won't be back there again which is unfortunate because it's right next to my work. read more

What a hidden gem! Small but clean and the owner welcoming! Ate here with family on a random Friday evening and were the last customers serviced and ever since then, I think my family comes here once every 1-2 weeks. It's a one man show and you can tell he's passionate about his business as well as his hometown which his restaurant is named after. Very genuine guy, super humble and cool. So far we've tried: regular and spicy (and spicy means hella spicy so go with regular lol) shrimp volcano fries, the Camarones (shrimp), the La Veracruzana plate, lengua and chicken tacos, shrimp burritos, Coctel de Camarones, breakfast burritos with bacon, and asada and al pastor burrito. Everything has been tasty but our faves are the coctel de Camarones, the La Veracruzana plate and the burritos (breakfast and al pastor.) I need to try his soups but those seem to always be sold out by the time we get there. Anyways, really cool spot and hope this place is here for a while! read more

Stopped on way home from volunteering. Someone on Neighbors app said he had tried and food was outstanding. Upon entering the facing wall has photos of menu items. I chose the green enchilada plate. There were 3 delicious chicken enchiladas along with beans and rice. Serving was enough for two meals. Owner/chef was very friendly and helpful with suggestions. The Xinantecatl Restaurant arose on our horizon after a week of backpacking in the Sierras. I'm sure it wasn't only the contrast with rehydrated camping food while slapping hummingbird-sized mosquitoes. But this place is the real deal! Each person in our five person party descended into reverential silence while enjoying fajitas, salad with steak, camarones a la veracruzana (spicy and savory) and camarones a la diablo (SPICY and savory). Meals were served with hot corn tortillas following complimentary excellent thick cut tortilla chips and both red and tomatillo salsas, both tangy and yummy. The man who greeted us was also the chef and waiter, a charming guy on top of talented and efficient cook and cultural translator (ask him what the restaurant name means!).  Complimentary ice creams were his final gift as we departed home to the showers he never let on knowing that we needed.  I'll be back for sure whenever I'm in town! read more

This is a hidden Gem that you need to try! It is a small place that you could or probably have driven by not knowing it's even there. The owner is such a nice guy. The food is made to order and amazing. There is a big selection on the menu as well... something for everyone. I have now been here several times and have not had one bad experience. Sometimes, I can be really picky, and every time I have requested something special, the owner made it that way. He does this with a smile, knowing he is helping a customer enjoy the food more the way they like it.... and doesn't make me feel like I am putting him out like other places have made me feel. If you are trying to find somewhere to go for dinner and haven't tried this place, it's a must for your list. read more

I had a wonderful breakfast here. the cook made me juevos rancheros even though it's not on the menu. He will make whatever you want in the way Mexican food. This place is wonderful! how can you argue with service like that? And a fantastic photo of the volcano for which the restaurant is named is up on the wall. Our food was microwaved. I heard him put the food in the microwave and press the button and 60 seconds later our food was ready. No grill was used to make our food. Owner is really nice but the food was just goopy and drowned in sauce and the chicken was old and dry. For the price we paid it was not a good dining experience. read more

This place isn't clearly visible from the road but luckily I found their yelp while randomly browsing it last night. The volcano shrimp fries caught my attention and I saw it had great reviews, so I just had to try it. I went last night around 7pm and it was closed. I'm not sure who wrote the hours on yelp because the cook didn't know anything about it. I tried going again today and they were open! I ordered the volcano fries w/ shrimp and asked for it to be spicy. The cook was really nice and got my order out quickly. I ordered to go and as soon as I got in my car, a wonderful aroma filled my car. I tried the fries first. They were soaked in a delicious sauce and the cheese was perfect with it. The shrimp was honestly perfect paired with those fries. I ate the whole thing myself. Haha. I will definitely be going back again for that. Unfortunately, I didn't order anything else so I can't give a review on other stuff from there but I do want to mention that when I went in, it was nice and clean. It's very simple inside with very little decor. Someone mentioned in their review that it was dirty there. I was prepared for the worst but that didn't happen with my experience. A friend told me of a new Mexican restaurant on Clovis Avenue. I had seen it from the road, as I'm passing by. Today, I was specifically craving chilaquiles. The guy taking my order seemed surprised. Either that, or I butchered the pronunciation. Chilaquiles is refried tortillas, drowned in sauce and topped with eggs over medium. This guy asked me if I wanted meat on it. In the past, if meats were available at breakfast time, it was served on the side. I opted for the red sauce, and it made the top of my head sweat. So I broke the yolk into the meat, sauce and tortillas, took a picture then ate my fill. The sauce is loaded in Mexican spices and chilies The Carne Asada mixed into the sauce was fantastic. The yolk added richness that only comes from eggs. The spice level was just enough to catch an endorphin rush. The sad truth is that I needed 2 of me to finish it. So, next time I have to bring a friend. read more

Yelp is the only way we would have found this hole in the wall. We were greeted by the owner, who was super nice and accommodating. The homemade salsa is incredible. We discovered this restaurant yesterday from the Yelp reviews. I'm amazed there aren't more reviews on this restaurant. It may be due to the location but it's worth getting in your car and going! The owner is a one man show cooking everything to order. So it is hot, fresh and delicious! We ordered a shrimp burrito and the volcano shrimp fries, because of other reviews. Both of our meals were excellent! Love the spicy sauce he uses. The volcano shrimp fries were so different but delicious. And he doesn't skimp on the shrimp. The restaurant is simple but clean. Nice large tables. You order and sit down. The owner/cook brought the food out to us (if busier, he might call order out? Dunno). The owner came back over, after we were done, to ask if we needed anything else and to see how we liked it. Nice customer service. Clean bathroom because that matters! The location is in an industrial area near the airport but we will make the drive if we are out and about in Clovis/Shaw area, running errands. It's now on our radar and I can't wait to go back and try the other things that the Yelp reviewers suggested (tacos, breakfast burritos,...). I've had the breakfast burritos before and was pretty impressed, but, today I went for dinner. Aaaaamazing! I had shrimp fries and they were bomb, tacos al pastor and adobada and they were on another level, my wife had a shrimp and leg us burrito and was blown away. Even my picky a** mom, liked her torta.
