    Asada tacos
    Jozel R.

Was craving Mexican food on a Taco Tuesday. Wanted to try a place we haven't gone to and this place caught our attention. Drove by this place a million times and didn't know this place was where it was. The sign was a bit faded which didn't make it easy to spot. Once we arrived there was no one there. The only person there, assuming it was the owner greeted us and was very kind. We ordered one asada burrito, asada quesadilla, 2 asada tacos and one chicken enchilada plate that came with rice and beans. It was a one man show, he cooked all of our orders fast and it was beautifully presented. Everything was delicious! The meat was all seasoned well and had great texture. I loved the fact that the outside of the burrito was toasted. Everything was large portioned, had great flavor and good for the price. This place serves a bit of everything. Bbq, hamburgers, seafood etc... We had such a great experience. Definitely coming back.

A little gem of a Mexican restaurant tucked into an industrial park off Clovis Ave between Olive and McKinley. Excellent authentic tasting Mexican food (and he also has a few American dishes, too - burgers, BLT&A sandwich, chicken, and more). Give it a try, I think you like it.

So, several months ago I happen to run across this place (thanks Yelp!) & finally got to try it out last night. I can see why this place has a 4.5, has good food! Green Chicken Enchiladas: The chicken is good, no old or off taste from sitting. Green has a good taste, which is always nice being most don't. Asada Tacos: Definitely good, not chewy or full of fat & gristle. Everything about it was All in all: Good service & clean. Definitely a good go to, everything tastes good along with a "fresh" taste from the onions & cilantro. Being it's close to home, will be a go to. Also, the red sauce for the tacos or whatever you want it for os good!

Food looked good enough to drive across town to get. Did that. Here's my thoughts: The owner is super friendly as is the staff. He can be a bit loud, however, which actually hurts my ears... some of us have excellent hearing, and if we're not standing 50 feet away, appreciate the more subdued volume! The restaurant is clean, humble, but practical and nicely laid out ... I like the huge menu on the wall and apparently they can make other things as well like chilaquiles. Just ask. He's been there for about five years and was surprised at some of the attention he's been getting here on yelp. I explained that it's an important tool for him, and he should spend the time to look at and read each of the reviews.... There's always things to learn that can help one improve their business... The restaurant is located on the south east corner in an industrial Park. It's clear that they take pride in their food, the restaurant. It shows and it 'tastes.' I ordered a chili Verde burrito with onions, wet, and a quesadilla with El Pastor add onions. You know me, not only me gravy, but me onions, too!! I would have to describe the food as well balanced. Nothing is too-too. The chili Verde was mild and tasty and the onions added a nice texture. It was perfectly seasoned and nothing was too salty! The quesadilla had a generous portion of meat in it, but was right on the verge of having too little cheese. A little bit more would have been perfect. The food was served HOT temp-wise which is always a plus. Not sure why they brought silverware twice but okay... This is a humble restaurant putting out really good, simple food of great quality. Can't wait to try a few more things! In way of encouragement to the the restaurant, you guys are doing a great job and I appreciated the enthusiasm, served up with good food! Keep up the good work! -G

Great food, amazing service, and excellent flavor! Highly recommend! The owner was very nice and welcoming. Clean place and comfortable atmosphere.

I love this place! Shrimp burritos/tacos/fries are so good! Fresh tasting and great flavor! Small little shop but well managed and outstanding food! Highly recommended!

    Volcano shrimp fries spicy

The food was freaking amazing! I order the volcano shrimp fries (spicy) the spiciness was spicy but I was able to eat and enjoy my food. It has their unique taste! My mom order a fried quesadillas shrimp and they were also good. The service was great! The lady and the man there make you feel welcome. They're both full of life! It's a small place . Glad I made a stop here and I will definitely come back again. I want to say it's a hidden gem.

What a hidden gem! Small but clean and the owner welcoming! Ate here with family on a random Friday evening and were the last customers serviced and ever since then, I think my family comes here once every 1-2 weeks. It's a one man show and you can tell he's passionate about his business as well as his hometown which his restaurant is named after. Very genuine guy, super humble and cool. So far we've tried: regular and spicy (and spicy means hella spicy so go with regular lol) shrimp volcano fries, the Camarones (shrimp), the La Veracruzana plate, lengua and chicken tacos, shrimp burritos, Coctel de Camarones, breakfast burritos with bacon, and asada and al pastor burrito. Everything has been tasty but our faves are the coctel de Camarones, the La Veracruzana plate and the burritos (breakfast and al pastor.) I need to try his soups but those seem to always be sold out by the time we get there. Anyways, really cool spot and hope this place is here for a while!

Camarones a la veracruzana. The shrimp were plump and fresh! Portions for all of our party were generous.

Our waitress was very friendly and on top of things throughout. However, neither my husband or I liked our food, especially at the price point. He ordered a burger, fries and a salad. I ordered the peri peri fried chicken sandwich. I imagined that there was some spicy peri peri and then some sweet slaw to compensate and balance, but it arrived with so much peri peri sauce on it the bun was drenched and the sauce was too overpowering. I ended up throwing away half the bun. The chicken itself was great and cooked perfectly. I could see myself ordering this again but asking for only a small amount of the peri peri. I also ordered a different side than fries and was told there was an upcharge. I expected a couple bucks, but it was an extra $10 for the upgrade. Come on! Most places charge less than that for an additional side dish, let alone for a switch. So my husband and I both were charged an extra $10, me for my upgrade and he for his side salad. This made our bill ridiculous for our enjoyment of the food. I know prices have gone up everywhere, but there are plenty of other upscale places around where I can get better food for less.

Love that they have a rewards program! We've been talking about coming here ever since they opened a clovis location but just never had the right opportunity. They have a really nice patio but we decided to dine inside. Eureka has a great lunch menu with several options for $13. I tried the al pastor fish tacos and my hubby got the Eureka burger. Both were good... the burger though was something to come back for. They also have a good happy hour. The drinks coming from the bar looked really good. I decided to try the wild child. It did not disappoint with fresh watermelon and mint and a salty spicy rim. We just couldn't leave without trying a dessert. The bourbon barrel cake was really good. We were promptly seated on the patio, but after 15-20 minutes we left without ever being served. Not one staff member acknowledged us. We still had all our menus on the table, no water, and even had a highchair brought to our table after we asked our server to bring it to us when we were seated--so it was obvious we were there and had not been helped. What made it worse was that the tables around us were seated after us and received water, drinks, and even an appetizer from the same server, while we were completely ignored. When I spoke to the manager on the way out, instead taking ownership, her first response was an apology followed by, "The host must not have told the server." That may explain it, but it doesn't excuse it. The manager had a great opportunity to own the mistake and try to make things right. Instead, she offered an excuse. Very disappointing experience.

Yes it's soup but beyond that the experience in the presentation is completely different. It was a little quieter and more laid-back it felt a little bit more upper class. I feel like I would have to come here two or three times to fully find what my favorite things are. I tried the spicy miso broth. But if I come back, I'll get something different and I'll probably have to try a few before I end up finding my exact favorite. The experience here was more about timing and what you're cooking instead of making a soup with everything in it and then eating it. I would have to say that everything that I had was good. Not really big on tofu and their money bags tasted OK a little bit sweet in the end. The corn was really sweet to me. I like both of the mushroom types that they had their my wife only liked one of the two. My broth came out amazing. I added cilantro, green onion, and their hoisin sauce along with some lime. We also got Ramen noodle. It didn't seem like it was gonna be a lot of food. I felt like we were gonna be hungry by the time we got done eating everything. But it turned out in the end we were both full and not needing anymore. I would say this is a little bit more expensive than JPot. But I think this would be a nicer place to bring a date to overall experiences and presentation is better. I would say the service here was really good. We were well taken care of. I always say that you should make reservations if you're gonna come. We walked in when it didn't look like it was full or busy, but we still had to wait 30 minutes to be seated. At least there's a little bit to walk around and do around here so you have other shops and places to see if you have to wait. Overall, I would give this a five star review. But my honest opinion is I would rather eat at JPot. But I might only be saying that because I have my favorites over there and I didn't leave here creating a favorite in my mind. I left here thinking next time I come back. I'm gonna try different stuff. Again everything is good

Food wise though, I thought it was just okay. The Tonkotsu broth was pretty bland and lacked the richness/flavor I was expecting. For the amount you're paying, I personally don't think the taste quite matches the price point. I'm glad I tried it and the overall experience was nice, but would I return? Most likely not. We headed in at an odd time yesterday around 230pm. It was late for lunch and too early for dinner. Nevertheless, we were seated in the front dining area, and ordered some entrees. The menu offers a lot of familiar favorites that you would expect to see at a a bar/ restaurant. Burgers, sandwiches, salads, and a few specialty plates. For my meal, I ordered The Local burger (no pickles of course) which was absolutely fantastic. Piled high with cheese, bacon, lettuce and tomatoes - this burger was executed to perfection. I ordered it medium, and it came out medium (imagine that). The best part was the sunny side egg that was placed on top. That first bite was heavenly. The yolk breaks, and all the goodness adds a little extra flavor to the already delicious burger. The shoe string fries were seasoned perfectly- I highly recommend this entree. The only thing I would add next time is an element of spice to take things up to another level. My wife ordered the BLTA sandwich , with sweet potato fries. I didn't try a bite because I had enough bacon on my burger , but I did sneak a sweet potato fry , and it was fantastic. My son order the chimichurri steak , he seemed to enjoy it although it may have had too much sauce on it for his liking. Perhaps it would been better if he ordered the sauce on the side. My picky daughter ordered the pesto chicken sandwich ,and she said it was pretty good. My family and I were full , but weren't going to let the dessert options pass us by. My family has a sweet tooth. We all shared the chocolate cake and bread pudding . Both are nice options if you need something sweet to top off your meal. The food and vibe of this place deserves 5 stars. I will deduct one star for the mediocre service and inconsistent food prep. Our meals were coming out one by one which made it awkward when trying to eat together. Our server didn't offer refills on our drinks , and didn't bring us utensils -until we asked for them. I will be back to try more menu items , and enjoy a cold beer while watching the game.

The Local gets the job done if you need a quick bite during the work day. The burger itself was generously sized, but the patty was underseasoned, and the dominant flavors were mainly the bleu cheese and BBQ sauce. My wife ordered the pesto chicken sandwich and felt it lacked flavor. Our kids split the mac & cheese and a grilled cheese sandwich, but neither was a hit. Even the grilled cheese went mostly untouched, by my kids which was unexpected. On the plus side, the outdoor patio is cozy and looks like a great spot for fall dining with a drink in hand.
