I saw this place on TikTok so I decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did because the food was as advertised. Extremely good. I received my order quickly. The Service was good however I did request 2 tartar sauces & only got 1...it's the attention to detail for me. And the parking lot is compact. 4 Starz respectively.

As soon as I walked in, the odor or fish hit me right in the nose. Personally I did not really like that aspect of the restaurant. I understand it's a "fish n chips" place, but the odor should be pleasant when walking in, not overwhelming as mine experience was. I had been wanting to try this place for a while now. I would drive past it when heading to Fashion Fair Mall but just never got around too until now. Service was good, the lady taking our order was nice at explaining any dishes we were curious about. I asked how big the fish pieces were and she explained they were like ten inches long and I was shocked, like WOW. So I went ahead and ordered the two piece fish n chips. The kitchen is right behind the cash register so you can clearly see them making the food, which is nice. So you know that you are actually getting fresh food. Our food took less than ten minutes yo be served. Just from the look of it, the good looked freshly made. When I saw how big the fish pieces were I was really surprised because they were the biggest fish n chips I had ever had. Both the fish and fried were sizzling hot. I tried the fried first, and they had a very nice crunch to them, just the way I like them, not soggy at all. They had great flavor as well. The fish however, was very greasy. It had too much coating on it. I would squeeze it and my fingers would be covered in grease. The tarter sauce they provided was good, it complimented the plain flavor of the fish nicely. All in all, maybe I would go back in the future, but to try something different. This place is good for a one time visit, just to try it out the fish n chips, but all the time, no.

Mixed emotions from my first two experiences, I will be back now that I know the rules. The restaurant closes at 7pm. The fish was so crunchy golden and delicious, not heavily battered like a lot of places here in Fresno, the calamari was good too, wish they had the rings with tentacles lol but they were crunchy and tender inside, lots of flavor specially when dipping into their tartar sauce.... So Yum! I like to mix tartar, tabasco, ketchup and malt vinegar to dip my food in. I've came twice on my own and I brought my son and his GF the third time, now I got them hooked lol. Don't sleep on this little establishment, closes thing to eating by a warf. Friendly fast service and clean tables, placing this on my monthly rotation.

It has been a while since I've been back here. Still the same great fish and chips. Be sure to ask for a specific fish if you want fish and chips. I specifically asked for cod this time. Last time I was given tilapia. Which was fine but cod is where it's at. Their tarter was ok but next time I'll pass on it. The restaurant was not busy for a Saturday at 5pm! read more

I ordered the fish and chips, clam chowder bread bowl, and fried okra to go. Everything tasted amazing. The lady even brought my order outside to me when it was ready. What a great local spot! The food is delicious, the staff is friendly and welcoming, and everything comes out surprisingly fast. Food is decent. Little hole in the wall fish spot that was surprisingly busy when we arrived. I got the 3 piece fish with chips and my partner got the 8 piece shrimp with chips. We ordered fried zucchini on the side which when i bite into the 2nd piece there was a hard piece of plastic. Thank goodness i caught it before i swallowed! it was hard enough to break a tooth. Still my Number 1 choice for fish and chips out of anyplace here or at the coast! I love the mild white fish and the light coating. Their tartar sauce is a great accompaniment for the fish. Prawns are great here, too. I like the shrimp cocktail sauce and the cole slaw is so creamy and tasty. Fries are good and you get an ample amount. I like to call in my order and it is ready just a few minutes after I arrive to pick it up. Super nice folks there. There are lots of tables for eating in, but we like to take our order to go. We picked up from here and the only complaint is I wish the girl that took my order was a little bit more friendly. I got the two fish and 6 scallops it was really good except for the fries they were good at all. My wife got the 2 fish and chips and she loved hers as well. The tartar sauce is good but the cocktail sauce was amazing. My mother got the 12 prawn and she really liked them as well and got it with onion rings but they were ok. For our first Friday of Lent, we decided to come to West Coast Fish N Chips for the first time ever. It is a smaller restaurant and we got there around 6pm so we beat the after 6pm rush. I got us a seat while my husband waited in line to order. Clam Chowder- 5 out of 5. It came with oyster crackers and absolutely delicious. Fish n Chips- 4/5 My husband loves fish n chips. Had a bite of my husband's fish and it was good. He refused to let me eat his prawns, but he liked them. He didn't finish his fries so I finished them. They were cooked well, but needed salt. I salted them and they were really good. Crab Cakes- 3/5. I've had better crab cakes. They looked a little burned, but $4.99 for 2 crab cakes is not a bad deal. Service- 5/5, Amazing, Liz whom I knew, was doing cashiering was sweet and kept up a good pace with the line, the ladies who brought out the food were efficient. I will definitely be back. read more

Literally the BEST fish n chips hole in the wall in the Central Valley. You can order anything and your tastebuds will thank you. Love the fish, shrimp, the fried okra is incredible. It's all good. I got some fish n' chips and prawns today. The fish were huge compared to the places I go to! They were really good, but I accidentally ordered too much fried food because I thought it would be a little smaller. Even though I got too much, the fish tasted good and I liked their tartar sauce. The staff was nice and the place was clean. Next time, I'm gonna only get one piece of fish. Just look at these monsters!! I like fried food, but I can only eat so much. read more

Lemon or some acidic slaw are essential to cut thru the fried. Ketchup & hot sauce would help. Tartar sauce wasn't great. Having some non-battered/fried options would be really great. I ordered the clam chowder and it was COLD (even after 30 minutes of prep?!?!). They knew it was cold too because when they handed it to me they said if it's too cold they can warm it up.
