Fish and clam strips
Amy P.

Came here on a Saturday for dinner. Order at the counter and they bring the food to you. We got the fish and clam strips and fish and scallops. The fish was tender and the portion was large. The (London style) batter (versus breading) was fine though the fish did not have a lot of flavor--to be fair, fish and chips in general is not really flavorful. The clams seemed like they were out of a bag--do not recommend. The scallops were ok, but I thought they tasted too fishy. I grew up in New England, so I tend to have a high standard for seafood. Tartar sauce was just ok, but cocktail sauce was good. Fries also not a lot of flavor. 9 tables inside with sea decor and a few tables outside. Staff person was nice/helpful and price was a good value. Located in the FoodMaxx plaza across from Sierras Vista mall with plenty of parking.

Are you looking for an uncrowded, peaceful haven, to enjoy your lunch? Maybe you have an 'itch' for some fish and chips. . . Well, just scratch BOTH & come HERE! It's directly across BC's Pizza in Clovis. But the odd entrance is on the side of the building, as you drive into the parking lot. I ordered fish/shrimp/clams. Look at the pictures and judge for yourself. . . Tasty. They also have very soothing music softly playing in the background, that I really, REALLY appreciate. It is a 'Mom and Pop' operation. The kind of business I like to support, and hope you do too! ;)

Hadn't been here in a bit nor updated my review. Saw that they had catfish and just had to try. Catfish was nice and thin with cornmeal. It was very good. The side of scallops was done in their fish and chip batter. I liked them, but my wife did not. And the fries? Hot but terrible. I do not recommend fries, but it does come with the fish. Highly recommend the London fried fish.

This place does not miss! The fish is perfectly crispy on the outside and flaky on the inside seasoned just right without being greasy. The fries were fresh and hot, not soggy like most places. Everything came out quick and piping hot. You can tell they care about the food. Definitely one of the best fish spots in Fresno. I'll be back!

It is a fantastic local mom-and-pop British-style fish and chips place with all the ingredients to be great. First, they use fresh, top-quality cod for their fish fry. The beer batter is light, crispy, and well-seasoned. The result is tasty, thick, flaky, golden crisp fish. The fries are blanched and then fried twice, resulting in crispier chips. A classic, clean English-style fish and chips. The fried oysters, prawns, and hushpuppies are all delicious. The scallops might be the best thing on their menu. They are succulent, naturally sweet, meaty, and fried in a well-seasoned, crispy batter. Along with the fish, the scallops are always on my list of things to order whenever I am here. Some of the side dishes and appetizers I have enjoyed here include the following: Prawns, oysters, calamari strips, clam strips, fries, hushpuppies, and coleslaw. The prices are very reasonable as well. They use cod caught in Alaska, so the filet is tasty and huge. One piece of fish comes with fries (hence the fish and chips) for only $5.25. Two pieces of fish are only $7.99. I have read mixed reviews on their clam chowder but have yet to try anything on the menu to suggest I would not like it. Unlike many, if not most, fish and chip restaurants, they keep the restaurant clean - which includes the tables, chairs, floors, and even the vents. The owners are Korean and a husband/wife team. Usually, it is just these two working at the restaurant. The husband prepares the food and does the cooking. The wife takes the orders and sometimes helps with the food preparation when there is an overflow of customers and order requests. They could not be nicer, appreciative of our patronage, and humble. So, please be patient and considerate when things get busy. High-quality fish and seafood fried to perfection. Friendly service. It is one of the best fish and chip places I have been to in years and, in my opinion, easily the best in town. The fish is noticeably bigger, tastier, and better quality than any local spot I have tried.

I have been wanting to this place forever. I had heard about their fish and chips. We decided to try it on a Friday night during Lent. We had a bit of a wait after we ordered our food. It was a 30 minute wait but that was ok. There is sitting inside and they have some patio seating. The menu is small and prices are not that expensive. I decided to try the 2 pieces of fish and fries and an order of hush puppies. They do have onion rings but during lent on Friday they do not fry vegetables. I will say I was impressed by the fish. The pieces are huge! Very delicious and not greasy at all. I noticed some reviews didn't care for the fries, but the fries were delicious as well. The hush puppies were a bit on the dry side, I would like to try them again when they aren't busy. The staff was great even though they were busy, they were still cleaning and busing tables. I would definitely come back to try some items.

First time here and boy.... I am not disappointed. The portions are hearty and worth the price. It did take a little long to get my food but it was worth it. I also got to chat with two beautiful young ladies that were waiting for their order and made the wait and ambiance enjoyable. The chowder was good too.

We ordered take out. Clam chowder was okay. Needed some love. No pepper. Lots of potatoes. Tastes semi homemade like it's made from a premade base. No oyster crackers. Wanted zucchini fries but were told they weren't offering them or any vegetables because of lent. I've never heard of people not eating veggies because of lent. My fish was very thin. Before I've eaten here in the past it's on HBO Max can say whatever they want and the fish was great. Two bites and I was done. Just a bunch of fried batter. Not a great experience.

Located across from Sierra Vista Shopping Mall. The fish and chips were so good. Nice and crispy wasn't overly greasy. Chowder was just ok. No wait and it was nice weather to eat out doors. The fountain drink didn't taste good to me. It was pleasant to check out. There was a small crowd there for a Saturday night.

Delicious fish and chips. Fish was fresh, flaky, and larger than the basket. We will definitely return.

The fish and fries were good as usual but the clam chowder is very bland and tasted scorched. Not good chowder at all needs improvement.

I opted for rice instead of fries to balance all the fried food. The rice was a great choice but I did not expect the serving to be so massive. It was three of each item along with the coleslaw. The container wouldn't even close and it was given in a massive paper bag just to accommodate the weight. Huge serving and very satisfying. My favorite was surprisingly the fish, then shrimp, then oysters. I did not even come close to finishing all the fried deliciousness. I'll definitely be back to try something else and probably bring a friend to split the food with.

And you get HUUUUGE portions of everything. Truly blown away by the portions. If you want A LOT of food, you'll get it here. Great value! ORDER: Wanted chowder & crab but they had neither. Calamari: Decent! I like the onions. Triple Play (6 pieces of fish, fries & coleslaw): HUUUGE pieces of fish that were nicely moist. Tempura Veggies: Not tempura batter. Same batter as fish. Wouldn't order again. Head-On Shrimp: Fried too long so they were hard. Wish they'd been not so hard. Overall, I'm sure many will like this place, but my problem is the batter is too thick & not at all seasoned. This is somewhere between American & Chinese, but doesn't truly lean into either. Lemon or some acidic slaw are essential to cut thru the fried. Ketchup & hot sauce would help. Tartar sauce wasn't great. Having some non-battered/fried options would be really great. Still, I might try them again. Hope they reach their target audience.
