I've been here a few times so feel like I have a decent idea of the place. The price isn't bad at all, good customer service, good battered fish as well. Their menu says they make their sauces in house. I do like the cocktail and tartar sauce a lot. I usually go with the fried fish and clam strips w fries plate.... its always their "daily special". However today I ordered the fish and scallops plate as well as a side of cole slaw. The cole slaw is good, however it is the sweetest I've ever had. Not a bad thing; worth noting. The scallops had a nice flavor once you get through the breading. Little too much breading in my opinion but will probably order again when I crave it. So overall a great local fish and chip place. Good price, good food, quick service, great location, and quite a few other menu items to try out in the future. The fried fish for sure is why I keep coming back. It is super yummy read more

I woyld prolly rate this at 3 1/2 stars if i could. The food is really very good. I enjoyed the deep fried and battered fish. The portions are large. The fries are arent that traditional; most "chips" ive had would be closer to steak fries, and these were regular fries, albeit tasty. The big negative here is the limited seating, lack of ambiance and the plastic cutlery. Just not used to going out to eat and using plastic knife and fork. If you can look past that, you will enjoy the fish. read more

I've been eating here for years (Clovis) and I have never been so disappointed as I was yesterday. The fish and chips are served in a rectangular cardboard tray that has fries on the bottom of the tray and the breaded piece(s) of fish on top. Always before if I ordered the single piece of fish order it came to the table with the fish hanging off of both edges of the cardboard container. That wasn't the case yesterday. If was about one third of the size it used to be and was so oily that when I would take a bite the fish kept sliding out of the breading. Sometimes (in previous times) the order of one piece of fish would include an extra quarter or third of a piece of fish. Lastly the condiments (catsup and tartar sauce) used to be plentiful, served in large squeezable plastic bottles not anymore. Now they are in tiny plastic cups of tartar sauce and fast food packets of catsup. I used seven of them for my fries and could have used thirteen more. I won't be back. read more

This place beats, hands down, Long John's Silver. The fish is cooked to order and the portions are big. In other words, if you order Fish 'n Chips, you get a large filet plus a small piece of fish as well as good fries. The special of the day included Clam Strips which were pretty good. Their sauces (tartar, cocktail, and ranch) are homemade and very good. This food is of good quality and you get full. I will be back to try the other items on the menu. As I walked outside, I thought to myself, this certainly is a hidden gem. This place was amazing. I had the clam chowder bowl and my boyfriend had the fish sampler plate. I always get upset at clam chowder when there's hardly any clams but this one had plenty of clams and a perfect amount of potatoes. The fish sampler was amazing, they give you a good variety of fish so you don't get tired of the same thing. The owners where really friendly and brought our food to our table with a big smile. Dude this place is so good. The food is amazing, the employees are polite and they give you a bottle of tarter sauce for your food! The only complaint is after I finish my platter, which is very large, I get a stomach ache because I ate the entire thing! I can't stop shoving the food in! read more

This is definitely our Go To Place for fish & chips. Best in town, quick in and out. Not real fancy, but certainly the best I have eaten, even compared to coastal towns And it is consistently good, Never greasy and always almost too hot to eat, so you know it just came out of the cooking oil. Never a stale oil taste in our three years of eating here as with many others. The owner is the cook and his wife occasionally in the back helping. Occasionally you find their kids patiently entertaining themselves at a back table. And always an open Bible where God's word is being read during slow times. I am a big fan of seafood and anything fried. Finding this place made my day. We came across this place because my friend lives super close. Thought we'd give it a try and bam, we were hooked. We tried a little bit of everything...fish, fries, oysters, clam strips, shrimp and calamari. It was all fantastic. I've actually never had clam strips before but they were delicious. I have been looking for a place that sells hush puppies and finally I've found one. And they are good. The fish pieces are huge, I would say a two piece is enough for anybody....this coming from someone who can eat a lot. The only thing i did not care for were the fries, they were ok. If they had better fries i would of rated them a 5 star. The fish was yummy and the prices are very good. The fish is SOLID! The batter is amazing and the size of each filet is plenty. The only minus is their fries. I think that's attributed to the moisture of the fish from the heat laying on the friea, causing them to be on the soggy side. They don't taste bad, just lack crispness. Yes! West Coast Fish N' Chips rules. Their fish and chips servings are huge; I have never seen a piece of fish so big. I could not even finish my food- and I only got one piece of fish. I would recommend sharing an order because there is no way you will finish it! I saw that they had a sign up that asks for you to call ahead to order because it can take 10 minutes or so to fry the fish. Of course they also take orders regularly if you forget to do that :) read more

Really good crispy battered fish. Fries were overcooked or had been sitting too long, but it was probably because it was a busy night. The clam chowder bread bowl bread was deliciously buttered and toasted, but chowder was just ok - could use creamier and richer recipe. I ended up eating the bread bowl on it's own and using the chowder as dip. read more

Went for lunch Wednesday and oh boy was it good. Had the 1 piece fish and chips and 6 hush puppies. The fish was very large and nice and crispy, fries could be better.Hush puppies great. The rustic old fashion decor compliments the fish and chips they serve. This is without a doubt the best fish and chips restaurant in Fresno. I would say that it is second to none to the places ive eaten on the cost. There is a great place in Pismo beach that serves fish and chips, but i promise this restaurant's food is better. The reviews are correct. Everything here is spot on. Crispy fish, cooked at the right temperature so it's not overly greasy. Excellent value. They give you a bottle of cold tarter sauce, ketchup and cocktail sauce. Everything was perfectly cooked, the service was very polite. Clam chowder was delicious.
