Great little cafe. Comfy and cozy. Menu was eclectic and delicious. We started with the hush puppies. Savory and sweet all in one. I had the mamaws breakfast. I went for lunch and ordered the Wednesday special, which in June 2026 is a smash burger with fries for $10. The burger is normally $10 by itself with the fries $5. The fries were a little too salty but OK. The burger was smashed and tasted good with American cheese, grilled onions, pickles and some kind of sauce. A plus is they have craft beer. It was great to find a healthy place to eat along Highway 64 heading to the NC coast. It is farm to table cuisine with many gluten free options! My husband loved his fish tacos,so much so that he gobbled one up before I could snap a picture. My salad was a bit bare, although what was on it was delicious. Purple walls and original artwork made for a fun surrounding. Waitress informative about close shops in the area. I never would have thought that a town named Pittsboro would be on my stop list, but it will be in my future. read more

Recommended by a friend as a new'sh place so was excited to try West End. We ordered the Turkish eggs, which my husband loved, with Lebneh and a garlicky, zataar-spiced naan. He also had a side of sausage which he did not share, however got a thumbs up. I opted for the hash, since I love short ribs. The meat was rich and tender, yet came with only 4 small diced potatoes, so not much of a hash. Loved the little frisée salad , because I can never get enough of greens. We got some sticky buns to take home for the teen, which were devoured. Easy ordering at the counter, waitstaff attentive. Lunch menu looks intriguing, yet it's the butterscotch budino and espresso pot de crème that I'm dying to try. We'll be back. read more

The restaurant is listed as having many vegetarian options. That is deceptive- especially for lunch. We settled on a salad. It was just okay and they neglected to tell us that they did not have ripe avocados which was listed as an ingredient and one of the reasons we chose that salad. They just left them off. It was only when we asked where it was that they admitted that they did not have ripe avocados for the salad. There were not many options for protein for vegetarians/vegans. The server was nice and did report my allergy. All in all, very disappointing and we are still hungry. We also had a hard time getting information about ingredients and manner of preparation. read more

Came back for lunch later this week and they told me kitchen was closed 40 minutes prior to the closing date. The Crabcake Bennie was described on the menu as "Premium Jumbo Lump" crabcake. However, it was nowhere near that. Not one little lump and the taste was off. I ate it, not wanting to create a scene with my dining companion but for $24.25 the dish was highly deceiving. Fantastic dinner in every way. First, the server was excellent, very friendly but incredibly authentic and honest, just a good guy who did a good job. Food was also excellent. Started with the lobster lollipops, a ton of lobster and a very nice dipping sauce. The pork frites was even better. The pork steak was cooked perfectly, surprisingly easy to cut, juicy and tasty. I usually avoid carbs but was told these fries were worth, and they were so worth it. Crispy, tasty, the perfect fry. Even the side salad (which the menu did not mention, a nice surprise) had a very refreshing dressing on it. We also enjoyed the broccolini, garlic butter added a lot of flavor. Stopped in for an early dinner on a rainy day. The service was welcoming and knew our every need. We ordered a large charcuterie board to share four our group of five. There was plenty to go around. The soup of the day was celery and so cozy. Our group also ordered fish tacos and some entres which left us full. Of course we had desert which was no surprise home cooking at its best. You walk into a mini mercantile that offers locally sourced goodies from chips to coffee to bars of chocolate. Then you make your way up to the counter and order what you want! They give you a number and you find yourself a table. The food comes out fresh and hot! Things I've had so far: George Clooney Gotta Burrata - incredible! Sourdough bread topped with prosciutto, Burrata, house made jam, and frozen shaved tomato. It's perfection. The Sawmill - I hate gross but this has converted me. Pimento cheese grits, poached eggs, and a hollandaise. It warms the soul! Pimento cheese fritters - what can I say? It's so fried pimento cheese. It's heavenly. Lobster beignets - not my favorite but still worth a try! It was a texture thing for me but the flavor was still on point! Pretzel Bread Pudding - great flavor, not overly sweet. Perfect way to end a brunch! Turkish Eggs - 100% yes! Poached eggs spiced up and served with naan bread. 10/10 recommend! I promise this restaurant is worth the trip! It was a cold and rainy day in Pittsboro, and we had our dog with us, so we ordered brunch online through their website to take back home. Using the app was easy. We ordered a sausage, egg and cheese on a potato roll (Sausage, Soft Scrambled Latta Eggs, and Thick Sliced Cheddar), the Sawmill (coarse ground pimento cheese grits, poached Latta's eggs, pico de gallo, crispy bacon bits and hollandaise), and the Short Rib Hash.
