I recently moved to the area. I've been on an adventure to find my new local spot. Also my karaoke jam spot. West Linn doesn't disappoint. Rather it's your first happy hour date during the week or your Saturday night out with friends for karaoke. This is the place! Totally laid back and comfortable place. Jill was amazing! From the second we walked in she had us taken care of. The bad review comes from an uncomfortable interaction between the owner (I assume based on the conversation) and an employee, Jill. She was behind the bar working and he was slightly berating/belittiling her in front of bar patrons over scheduling and other workplace issues. Fantastic egg white omelets with the best/coolest potato slices I've ever had! I stopped by for breakfast and ordered the quiche. It came with mixed fruit. I like the food. The portions are good. The orange juice doesn't taste right so I had to tell them to take it away. There's plenty of seating, rock and roll music or music from the 70'w and 80's is playing. There weren't a whole lot of people eating; I expected better service than what I received. My waitress didn't return after my food arrived. When I go out to eat, I'm a 20% tipper for good food and service. I won't be returning here nor would I recommend this place for breakfast. read more

Today, after many enjoyable breakfasts with out of town guests here - today was the WORST experience we've ever encountered. We will never go back. The lack of accountability was glaring this visit. The server forgot to put in our order until 40 minutes into us being there. I watched her put it in because I was complaining to my husband about the fact that we haven't seen anything knowing how quick their service usually is. We didn't get any refills on waters - the glasses stayed empty the whole time!! She walked by us every few minutes! We didn't get checked on once while we waited nor did we get any sort of apology from her for completely forgetting our table. We didn't get anything. It's not like we weren't right there, because we sat right next to her where she put her food in at the terminal. We were right next to the kitchen. So when our food was finally brought to us, mine wasn't even cooked - you could tell they rushed it - and it was one of their signature skillets. It was completely runny and disgusting. The biscuits lacked flavor - which is exactly why we always kept coming back. Man, those were the best biscuits. There were five of us at the table, we all had empty glasses and awful food except one plate, which was our guest - thankfully. I'm glad her food was at least palatable. When she delivered our food, the server said "thank you for our patience" and then walked away. No apology for her forgetting to put in our order. No apology for lack of attention. No apology for lack of water. Nothing. When she finally came back around, I told her I was not paying for my food because it was not edible, so they offered me a cinnamon roll instead. Yeah, ok. No. I wanted the check so we could leave. Her "tip" was a long message on the back of the receipt explaining why she wasn't being tipped. I was so upset by the time we left an hour and a half+ later - and hungry!! Ugh. The fact that there was no accountability for her mistake was the final straw. I'm forgiving until I'm not. read more

Trying this place for the first time and WOW, is the breakfast good. I ordered the Belgian waffle with lemon curd. It arrives with a large scoop of blackberry whipped butter. Smearing that on top with a generous smear of lemon curd and this is the stuff of dreams. Kudos to Chef Lauren for hand, making all of this! read more

Great new find fit me. My waitress has worked for this restaurant for 13 years. She mentioned the owner's family being 'like' surrogate parents to her because her parents died early in life. The owner greeted us and asked how everything was. The food, was great! I ordered the fondue and small shrimp Caesar salad. My husband has the pulled pork quesadilla. Went in after the lunch rush for lunch. Fabulous wait staff that was attentive and the drinks were executed perfectly. The food was another matter. Being told the cook was late to work was the first clue, not really that big of a deal unless it affects my meal, which it apparently did. Ordered a taco salad that was nothing but a disappointment. My party was hungry but lots of corners were cut. Had to ask for cheese...on a taco salad, and the cheese was handed to me in a bowl to add ourselves?? Lots of lettuce, a miniscule half portion of meat, lots of tomatoes and that was it, literally. This place is hit and miss, depending on who's cooking and this visit was very disappointing. My friend and I went for breakfast. The food was good. I had one biscuit and gravy. The biscuit was very large and not enough gravy for the big biscuit so I only ate half of it. No sense of urgency, a great place to go if you're looking for a restroom that smells like vomit and a bartender that could care less. Only place in WL open past 10pm so I guess they think they can mail it in. Save your money and skip it. They don't want the business - in fact they seem annoyed when they are busy. read more

My Homie James and I came here. He for food. Me for beer. The parking lot is goofy but doable. We showed up before the rush. We sat at the bar. So that James could check out cute girls and I could be closer to beer. I started with a Hammer and James had Bitters and Club Soda. I know. I know. It's what he likes. The man has food issues. Let it go! James ordered a Cheeseburger and Home Fries. I had beer. After a couple Hammers and some conversation. My beer was gone and the food ready TOGO. I kicked myself all the way home. His burger smelled amazing. James usually has trouble eating very much at one time but not today. He ate the whole meal. I did steal a couple fries. Yes they were amazing. I got a bite of the burger and yes. It was also amazing! The inside isn't very big but there is also outside seating. I can't wait to bring my wife here for a date night. read more

The interior is much more inviting, the bar is still the same (standard well drinks, decent, but not remarkable tap selection), service is good, and the food is high quality pub fare. A little gem of a place in between a sushi restaurant and a spa in quant little Willamette area of West Linn. I liked how clean and cozy the restaurant seating area was. I would describe it as old western saloon style hence the name Erst Linn Saloon, with wood slab tables, corrugated metal Wayne's coating and cowboy hats. We were greeted and served immediately. The beer was cheep and cold 2.50 (and up) for domestic draft and bottles. We orders the Slab Sandwich which had fresh roasted turkey piled high, cheese, lettuce, tomato on their own fresh baked bread for only 7! We also tried a few of their $1 chicken wings ....excellent place for cheap eats and beer! I will be back for sure. read more

First time trying this place. Pretty small and intimate, perfect for a late Thursday night dinner or drink. The bartender was serving the whole place it seemed, but doing a fine job. She brought us our margaritas and then asked me if I was over 21 because I had a very youthful face, which I appreciated. The margaritas were excellent. We both ordered the steak gyro with onion rings and it was good but needed more tzatziki sauce. Overall great experience, we will be back. Especially love having peanuts on the table. read more

I wish I could leave 0 stars. The bar manager is not a good person. She was running around drunk and made a horrible decision. she was absolutely trashed and yelling racist slurs and then denying it. I don't care if you're drunk, those racist slurs should not be in your vocabulary. No matter what. I'm not happy with the way the bar handled this situation. I will not be returning to this bar or suggesting this bar until she is gone. read more

They removed my first review tonight the bar manager, Lauren send a racial slur out loud and nothing was done about it. She was either kicked out of the bar, nor was the bartender accommodating when we told her about it and multiple other patriots told her about it. they instead chose to kick us out of the bar after we just asked about her, leaving after seeing the racial slur. Once again, as someone from the deep South, it's crazy they go into a bar and Oregon and I hear the bar manager repeat a racial slur. this need to be fixed asap and the bartender who worked should be fired as well as she's smirked when we brought it up to her. read more
