My partner works out this way and has been wanting to take me here for a while so we finally made the time. Totally worth it! They have a nice outdoor seating area along with good sized space indoors. Our server was so super friendly. We had to try the bacon wrapped jalapenos which are totally worth it (they use good bacon). The burgers are huge, stacked, messy, and so tasty. It's really hard to decide what to get here since they have so many amazing choices. Really a place to get a deluxe style burger. Not many onion rings (which is pretty common) so I think I prefer tots. And man when they get that smoker going! It smells amazing for sure.

Really cool little joint, lots of great food options we got the BBQ platter and it was SO good. The only thing that wasn't a ten was the brisket was a little dry. Not bad, just a little. On the other side of that is the hot link sausage, fantastic! Also the home made Mac salad was to die for. Don't bother with the mild BBQ sauce, it's sweet baby rays. Instead get the spicy, it's homemade in house, with just a little kick and authentic BBQ sauciness. Lastly a shout out to the owner he was a real genuine dude who seemed to care about his customers which means a lot in today's world of corporate chains and fast food. Support this business, it's well worth it!.

I was looking forward to eating here because who doesn't like a delicious backyard burger. The name of this establishment alone got me in the door, but my expectations fell short. I ordered the classic burger to go which comes with a side. I chose tots. It was after the lunch rush when I picked up my order. Only a couple patrons inside. I approached the bar where a woman and man were standing behind. No greeting. The woman just looked at me and I told her I had a to go order. She turned around, went to the kitchen. Came back and continued to visit with the man who was behind the bar. She put my order in a bag and stapled it all in slow motion as if it wasn't important. She gave me the sealed bag, and I asked her if there were sauces and napkins, which had been ordered in the bag...she replied "No" and went back to the kitchen and got the sauces. I then asked her if I could please have some napkins and she turned around again and walk slowly to go get the napkins and came back. Customer service was a 0. And to top it off while I was waiting, some guy came out of the kitchen with a unlit cigarette in his mouth. When you pull up outside there is a barbecue, which gives the impression that the burgers might be grilled, unfortunately my burger wasn't grilled, it was dry, tasteless and had the wrong type of cheese on it. The condiments consisted of 1 small lettuce leaf, 1 tomato slice and a couple onions. This combo without a drink is $18. They're fountain drinks are $5 so I opted out. When a fast food drive-through burger is better tasting than the one here it's unfortunate. Nothing special here.

We were looking to grab something to eat as we made our way south from Portland to the Eugene area. It was slow going because of the cold, snow and ice. There were not many people on the road because of the winter weather so we called to ensure they were open after my wife searched Yelp while I drove. Steve answered the phone when she called Backyard Burger Company. He said they would be open until at least 4pm and later depending on staffing. We decided we would check them out as we drove south on 205 to I-5. They are located about three miles off 205 on Willamette Drive in West Linn. Backyard Burger Company is in a small shopping area and they are on the end of the building closest to Willamette Drive. We parked, walked inside and were immediately greeted by Steve. There was only one other table seated. The place was a little eclectic but warm and welcoming like a neighborhood restaurant / bar. We had a seat at the bar and were provided menus. This gave us the opportunity to chat with Steve and we found out he was the owner. My wife ordered the Asian salad and I ordered Aunt Karen's Bacon Stuffed Burger with the house sauce on the side. We ordered some fries to share to warm us up as well. Our food arrived in a timely manner and looked great. Everything tasted delicious and was just what we needed. This was a great experience and we will definitely stop in again the next time we are in Portland.

The owner was very polite, and the selection was vast. My party of three enjoyed burgers and fries. Bottomless fries were one of their offerings which we took advantage of. I'll be back to try the brisket!

You know the place is good when it has a milkshake menu

I came in for a sandwich this week - my usual "Original" with high quality sliced ribeye, grilled onions and a fair amount of melted cheese. The bonus today was as I was leaving the manager asked "what did you have?" As I answered he offered me a bonus sandwich to-go that they had made for someone in error. This generous offer cemented my loyalty for life. I love Philadelphia's and will announce their praises from the rooftops of Canby.

It took so long once we got the sandwich. There was plenty of food and we got the pepper cheesesteak and it was good like the meat was good. The peppers and mushrooms were good, but we did ask for additional mushrooms and they're very little in there. And in the scheme of things, they really wasn't that much inside for the sandwich and it was definitely lacking insult which of course could be me. Comfort food, but clearly made with care. The shrimp dish stood out too. The shrimp were tender and fresh, with a clean flavor that paired well with the tomatoes and light seasoning. Simple, balanced, and executed well. The wine pairing complemented everything nicely without overpowering the food, which I appreciated. What made the biggest impression, though, was the service--especially from the owners. They were welcoming, attentive, and genuinely engaged without being over the top. You can tell they take pride in what they're doing, and it shows in how they treat their guests. Overall, a place I'd definitely come back to and recommend to others looking for a quality meal in West Linn.

To be transparent, there were definitely positives! The staff assisting with setup and during the event were kind and helpful, the beverages and fruit were well received, and the venue itself worked well for our event. It allowed us enough space to spread out and have various areas for different activities. However, the food quality and overall value did not align with what had been discussed beforehand. The croissant sandwiches included on those boards were minimally filled and very underwhelming for the cost, and the desserts served were not what we discussed and agreed upon during planning. Several desserts were also largely untouched by guests (or to be frank, one bite taken and then thrown in the trash). What ultimately disappointed me the most, though, was how my feedback was handled afterward. I reached out privately in hopes of having a constructive conversation and I was initially offered a partial refund. However that offer was later withdrawn after the owner reviewed event footage and determined that "because food had been consumed/taken home," our concerns were not valid. Of course we took food home, we paid for it! In my opinion, guests eating food at a hosted event does not automatically mean the quality met expectations. I fully understand that no event is perfect, and I tried to approach the situation reasonably and directly before posting publicly. Unfortunately, the overall experience and response left me feeling dismissed rather than heard as a paying customer.
