Midwest Tire Company was amazing and really saved us after a pretty stressful morning. Our tire was slashed overnight in our hotel parking lot and we were supposed to be heading back home that day. I called Midwest Tire and the person on the phone was so friendly and immediately told us to come in and that they would help us out. Everyone there was just as nice. Super friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. They knew we were from out of town and trying to get back on the road, and you could tell they really wanted to help make that happen. We didn't have to wait long either. After such a lousy start to the day, it was so nice to end up somewhere with genuinely kind people who knew what they were doing and took care of us. I came here to get my tire fixed (darn nail). The cost was $30, which I think was quite reasonable especially since I had not purchased the tires there and therefore didn't have a warranty. This is a cool old-style shop where you walk through the garage area to get to the office. The waiting room is noisy with the sounds of tire installation. You can have them send you a text when they are done, if you don't want to sit. I stayed there though. The coffee (free) was good, and they took care of my tire quickly. read more

I took my car, formerly damaged by another shop, to them to do a wheel alignment, because i could tell something was off there, and the back wheels were not looking straight, but slanted a little. They told me the car was damaged by previous work on it [another mechanic where i fixed something else said the same] and it needed another part and a bolt, for which they charged a quite reasonable amount, and fixed my wheels really well! Wheels look properly now, the car drives straight and you can feel "it rolls" without any noise. Very, very good job and i am very happy i took my car to them! read more

Midwest Tire is our go to place for all our car maintenance and repair. If it's a specialized problem that they don't work on, they refer us to a reliable service center where the work can be done. One of the things I like most about Midwest Tire is that they don't try to upsell me unnecessary services. I can usually get an appointment for an oil change in a day two from when I call. Today I called to see if I could have them look at the tires. The dashboard light came on indicating a tire on my Corolla was low. They said bring it on in right now and they would check it out. I expressed concern about being contactless and social distancing. Turns out there's a second waiting room and no one was in it. The service desk has a large plexiglass barrier to distance customers from staff. It wasn't long before a technician came out to tell us what they were doing. Turns out ALL the tires were low. He was going to pull the one we thought was the problem to check it out. Actually, there was nothing wrong with the tire. We may have accidentally let air OUT in our attempts to put air in so that All the tires were low! Not any more! And best of all, there was no charge for looking. I believe good tires are the cheapest insurance I can buy for my car. The guys at Midwest Tire take care of my precious tires with honesty and skill. From what I've seen, they treat every customer with respect--some of the other tire places here in Omaha have been very patronizing to my wife and to other female customers, which is why this is worth noting. I buy most of my tires at Discount Tire. But sometimes they can't get the exact tire I want. Sometimes I want to mount some older tires that need some extra TLC. Or sometimes I just need a flat repaired. That's when I turn to Midwest. I'll admit that even though Discount will repair a leaking tire for free, the guys at Midwest are so much more experienced that I'd rather pay to have them do the work. Prices for tires and services are a little higher at Midwest than at Discount, but much lower than at car dealerships or Jensen. read more

My third time in, yet another great experience. No appointment was needed, I came in with my flat tire and they got it fixed in 20 mins and only charged $22 for the job. I've gotten a battery replaced last minute in the dead of winter and they squeezed me in. Gotten new tires here. And now I've had tire repair here. I was referred to Midwest Tire by three separate people. After a bit of tire research online and a couple of phone calls, it was a toss up between Midwest Tire and Costco (because I heart Costco). Stopped in at the Costco Tire Center to ask a couple of questions - BIG mistake. The guy was a complete jerk and unwilling to explain anything without being condescending (girls, you know what I'm talking about). Anyhow, stopped off at Midwest Tires and the guys were great. Selected, purchased and installed my tires in an hour. Especially impressive since it was 4 p.m. on a Friday. While in the waiting room, started chattin' it up with a couple of their long-standing (women) customers who apparently take their cars in for EVERYTHING, not just tires. I highly recommend. My car rides like a dream on these tires. They have different price points (for those of us on a budget) and prices were more than competitive (comparable tires to what I bought were $100 more at Sears, $175 more at Costco). I purchased a car in the fall and noted that the tires were nearly new. I did not realize, however, that they were basically summer tires and my car wouldn't be able to move on the slightest slope when it snowed. I was not very excited to replace my new-ish tires, but had to or my car would be useless in the upcoming storm. I went to Midwest Tire after hearing good things from a friend. The salesman gave me a couple options and I chose a set of four new all-weather tires. As I was waiting for them to be put on, the salesman came back to me and said that they noticed how new my existing tires were. Since the tread was good, he said I would be fine replacing only my front two AND they would give me a credit for the ones they took off. Usually, putting new tires only on the front isn't a good idea because it reduces stability in the back. But, he said, since my back tires were so new, I should be fine. And if it seemed like I was sliding around in the back, I could always come back and get a couple more. I appreciated the honesty and it saved me a bunch of money. One thing I liked about this place is their upfront pricing. They give you a price per tire that includes all the fees and installation. If you go to the website for somewhere like Tiresplus you see a per tire price which looks good... but then they tack on installation fees, dump fees and whatever else they can squeeze out of you. Being upfront about pricing is valuable to me. If I decide I want two more new tires for the back of my car, I will definitely be back to Midwest Tire. read more

I went in to patch a flat tire on my Denali. Unfortunately It wasn't repairable. They were able to get me a used one. I was expecting to pay at least $200 as the tires I have were $2000 new. Ol' Vincent decided to mix things up the other day and blow out a tire. For a replacement, I of course checked Yelp, and found Midwest Tire. I'm here to keep the good ratings going! These guys know what they're doing, and they're fast. I had barely sat down in the waiting room before they'd retrieved what I needed. My fancy new tire and I rolled on out, happy as can be for someone paying for something that's not exciting to buy. On a recent trip to Costco, I checked out their tire prices, and guess what? Midwest Tire beats Costco by 10 dollars, at least for the sort of tire I need. Not being a tire expert, I would of course recommend comparing prices for your own specific needs, but this is definitely something to consider. I myself am about due for an overhaul of tires, and this is definitely where I'm going for that. Sorry, Costco! read more

I only went here for a simple fix on a sheared wheel stud, but I love that they quoted me $45 over the phone and it ended up just under $30. Also when I asked if my tires needed replacing, I expected a salesman to attack with their most expensive options, but no, they actually told me I have at least a year left on them. Very frustrating experience this morning! 2nd time coming in - first time we were told to "just drop in- the earlier in the day the better - and we'll check out what's making the noise". Well, that changed this morning to - "no, you need an appointment". After that comment, the person up front did take my car for a drive to check out the sound I said it was making. He came back 5 minutes later saying he heard nothing. Very frustrating as it makes the high pitch sound ALL THE TIME. Not hard to miss either.
