These guys are not just great. They are really, really great. When my last great body shop closed, I hunted around for another shop to take care of my two vintage vehicles, both driven almost daily. I found West Wind on the recommendation of my mechanic, Randy Kuwatani at Octane. When I went in to talk, there were two immaculately painted American muscle cars parked in the front area, belonging to Nissim Ninio, the owner. "Wow!", I thought. "Do these guys do this kind of work for their customers, too?" Well, West Wind just finished work on my 2002 Mercedes after a tree fell on it in a windstorm. And take my word, they do their best work for their customers as well as for themselves. They are as good as Baron von Frier or Henry Hanzel, both of whom have left the business. I have brought my vehicles in to West Wind for repairs over the years with great results. Thankfully I haven't had any need for repairs in a while (no accidents!), but I would like to comment on their detail services. I purchased a new 2021 GMC AT4HD Duramax Heavy Duty truck almost 2 years ago with a Leer shell. All black. That's a lot of painted surface! I had Tony apply a ceramic coating when it was new with amazing results. Throughout the drought my poor truck suffered. I washed it maybe a total on 8 times in almost 22 months! Only when covered in either bugs from a long road trip or significant bird droppings. No routine washings meant no routine waxing (zero waxing). Well, it seems we have a bit of reprieve with the water situation so I brought my truck back to Tony at West Wind for a full truck detail and ceramic rejuvenation. Truck was covered with hard water spots and small scratches. What Tony did was nothing short of miraculous! The shine is almost like new! Tony spent extra time buffing out all the water spots, and his hard work shows! He addressed the few scratches I had and even fixed a minor bumper scrape I incurred along the way. I did not have him touch my cargo area under the shell, because that is where the truck earns its money. The interior cab was spotless. My car, a '99 XK8, was sideswiped by a guy trying to make a turn into my driveway. I've worked with West Wind on another car, so knew the company and trusted the work. While my insurance uses them, the other driver's company did not (and they were picking up 100% of the bill) as there was no fault of my own. The guys at WW worked directly with the other insurance company to get an estimate that worked. The check was cut directly to WW and within a week the car was back like new (as new as 20 year old car good be. Shannon is incredible communicative and kept me updated daily when damaged replacement parts arrived and need to be exchanged - delaying the completion my a few days.
