It has been about two years since our company was introduced to Western Bat Specialists and even though I haven't needed to see the fantastic staff in over a year, our company is overly satisfied with the work that this company did. We have 3 commercial buildings on-site and all three had bats and guano too. We even had a unit that smelled of guano so bad we couldn't lease it. Our tenants were frequently having bats in their units and it was almost a daily occurrence that I would have to find a way to band-aid the issue. Our company had used a company previously to perform "bat exclusion" and it didn't last months let alone the almost 2 years Western Bats did. I have used Western Bat since they first bat proofed our house in 2017. Being that bats are creatures of habit; the following year we had some pesky bats remove the proofing and start to get in. Western Bat immediately came out and resecured the home, no charge as it was under warranty. Fast forward to September 2024, during an inspection Western Bat found that a few bats had found a way into the attic. Western Bat resecured all points of entry and made sure the rest of the bat proofing materials were still functioning properly. Western Bat then provided photographic evidence of the infestation and droppings in the attic and provided a comprehensive plan for the full removal, treatment and remediation of the affected area. Every time I have dealt with Western Bat, be it their personnel in the field or the staff in the office they have been outstanding. They are courteous, knowledgeable, thorough and above all professional. All while following state guidelines to help the bat population thrive as we need them to keep our mosquitos in check. I was very pleased to finally have the bats on there way to somewhere else, it took a few days but I was very happy with the bat control Western Bat Specialists performed. Yes, it was expensive but this is a very professional outfit. Yes, they work quickly but it always looks easy when a skilled expert is working, like high diving. I felt good respecting the laws of when to exclude the bats, but bats in my house was not fun because they were always a surprise when you didn't want one. I also wanted the certificate so that a buyer would know that his house had the custom exclusion doors and had been caulked. The company kept the scheduled date for bat exclusion even when it might have been easier to reschedule, which I really was happy about as I had been waiting. The company helps you learn about bats along the way which is appropriate and interesting. Only regret is that they were so far away that they had almost two days of travel in the price. We had bats in the eaves of our house and I had been getting estimates from other companies for two weeks. Western Bat Specialists was the company I chose and I'm so glad I did. I realized I wanted a company that was licensed by CA Department of Fish and Game to work with bats and, as an important added benefit, they had a contractors license. They bat proofed our home using durable netting, invisible to the naked eye, and importantly installed one way tubes that the bats could exist but not enter. It was important to me to not harm any bats in this process and I now know the importance of working with experts. I used Western Bat company to help with swallows that have been nesting under the eaves of my house and while a few swallows are charming hundreds are a few too many! I also had multiple bat colonies and although they are very beneficial there was a concern for them getting under the tiles and urinating necessitating tile removal, felt replacement and then putting the tiles back. We had bats entering our living area and driving us crazy. Spoke with Western Bat Specialists. They responded the day we called and removed one bat which attached itself to the peak of our vaulted ceiling. Western Bat Specialists returned the next day and installed a one way exit device and sealed all the gaps where the bats could enter.
