I made an appointment for wisdom teeth removal surgery and proceeded to follow care instructions: don't eat or drink anything for 8 hours pre surgery and bought plenty of no chew foods. I arrive at the appointment 10 minutes early and check in fine until I receive a call from the business I'm literally inside of that they have cancelled my entire schedule surgery because they "ran out of IV bags". This is extreme malpractice, any surgeon should have the necessary materials prepared ahead of time for an entire procedure. I'm never returning to Western Dental and I pray they lose their licenses to work. Do NOT risk coming here unless you have a good lawyer. read more

Guys this is the worst, dirtiest place ever. Came here 30 mins prior to my 1pm apt was asked my dob and name told to sit. 1 hour later I asked what is next they asked where is my paperwork. They never gave to me. Filled it out handed it back at 3pm taken back for X-rays. At 345 they tell me can't see me reschedule for Fri 10am. They try to take X-rays again I let em know they are done. Since moving to Chico, this has been one of the most infuriatingly irritating experiences of my life. I'm guessing they have a call center of some sort and their customer relationship management software has to have some sort of bug or lag because nothing has been communicated across employees. I called on a Friday to make an appointment and they pushed to have me come in the following day, but when I got there they said they couldn't see me because they had no time to verify my insurance. The next time I went in they were woefully understaffed; the people that showed up were fantastic and patient, but everything else went wrong. They took X-rays and then tried up-selling me on GumX, which is fine, whatever, but then their financing system rejected me after struggling with it for several minutes and they only had one dentist on staff so I didn't even get my teeth cleaning. That experience by itself would be terrible, but I repeatedly received texts and auto-dialed calls from their call center reminding me about an orthodontics appointment I was pressured into accepting which I had canceled on at least three separate occasions, and nobody seemed to get this on any avenue I tried correcting them. Then the following day five different people from their call center called me to ask me to reschedule. I do not blame the employees but none of the notes or the fact that I told them I was no longer interested seemed to get through their system. Two of those calls were twenty minutes apart. That is ridiculous and completely unprofessional. After these experiences I am personally looking into a different dental office for my needs. read more

I would give zero if that's an option. The front desk girl is rude. She doesn't even know how to say "Thank you." I said thank you at least ten times, she replied nothing. She doesn't even say ,"you are welcome." I said thank you, she just ignored me every time l said thank you. It was like I was serving her. She treated me like trash. I felt bad all day after seeing the front desk girl. How can she hold her job? Ridiculous! I was scheduled for a normal teeth cleaning. I took a taxi over. I said l'm checking in for my appointment. The front desk girl said they can't see me because the hygienists are only there on Wednesdays and Thursdays. I said, "if you can't see me why you scheduled an appointment with me and ask me to show up then?" She didn't say sorry, she didn't even look at me, with a very rude attitude she said, " The call center doesn't know our office policy." I thought even if the call center doesn't know, the office still can take a look what's booked on their schedule, and call me and tell me not to come. I had to take off work, l had to find babysitter for my kids. I had to pay a taxi both ways. I took so much trouble to show up for my appointment only to be told that they can't see me? Do they ever consider their patients for even a little bit? I know mistakes can happen sometimes, but at least say one word sorry is the very basic thing. Just say "Sorry that you can't be seen". DO NOT GET BRACES HERE. This place caused me to get an underbite and I still have glue left on my teeth when they took off my brackets. I'm 19 now and I got my braces taken off at 17 and I still have that dumb glue on my teeth! For some background info I got my braces here at 13 and got them taken off at 17. I had two different dentists during this time frame who worked at western dental. The first dentist had no idea what he was doing, he told me to wear rubber bands for a "bite correction" even though my bite was perfect (this was when I was 15). After I've had my braces on for 3 1/2 years my bite started to shift and created an underbite, I told the dentist this and he ignored it. To the ending of the 3rd year another dentist came in to replace the one I originally had. She was absolutely confused on why I still had my braces on. Later on she told me that I was supposed to have gotten my braces off when I was 15, not 17. I had my braces on two extra years and because of those two extra years my bite shifted. I got my braces off at 17 and didn't even do a good job of it. Now I have messed up bite because of these clowns. read more

Currently been waiting 1 hour and 45 minutes into my appointment and only have had my X-rays done. The xray lady was not wearing a mask at first and was breathing heavily in my face. When I made a face, she said I'm sorry and put a mask on, then proceeded to pull it down during the X-rays and exhale deeply into my face over and over again. She also kept fiddling with the equipment trying to figure out which way it goes, as if it was her first time. Now I'm in the exam "room" which isn't a room but a huge room with multiple exam areas, without even drapes to close off the area of other exams going on. LASTLY AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, The HIPAA VIOLATION. They have this guys chart pulled up on the computer right next to me with not even a privacy screen and it has been up the whole time I've been sitting here waiting. I would share the photo but I don't want to share his information more than they have already. This place is terrible!!! They do not care about wait times, breathing directly in peoples face a foot away, and HIPAA law. I am about to walk out in a few minutes. Update: My appointment was at 1pm. Every time I tried to leave they would say "the doctor will be here shortly". I left at 5pm, received one filling and some gel stuff. My appointment was at 9am, and I didn't leave the office until past 12pm. I was there for xrays and a cleaning, which very well could have been done in under an hour. Instead it took 3. The only redeeming aspects of my visit were that 1. They accept my insurance 2. Shelly the xray tech was very gentle. I've always gagged from dental xrays, but she was so gentle that it was a non-issue What you don't pay in money, you pay in time. Make sure you set aside AT LEAST 3 hours for your visit. I want to say how great my dental care has been with Dr. Zada and his assistant Walter. They have done a great deal of work on my teeth and it has all been of the highest quality. But it's not just that. They are great professionals that made me feel comfortable in these tough situation. I had very bad cancer that deteriorated my teeth and the care they have given me has been incredibly kind and gracious. There were other assistants that work with Dr. Zada and all of them were very kind, thoughtful and professional. Walter is probably exceptional amongst them. All the abundant work that was necessary for me to have a natural set of teeth again was performed with the highest quality of professionalism by Dr. Zada.
