Before calling Western Rooter, I contacted another plumbing company. There was a lot of water leaking underneath my house, I panicked thinking it was a broken pipe, the owner of this company came out, briefly took a look underneath my house and said I would have to wait for the bottom of my house to dry out before he could complete any work, but would send me a repair estimate. As of today, I have not heard back. I reached out to a friend of mine and asked if he knew a good, honest plumber I could call. He recommended I call Western Rooter, from my initial phone call with Eileen at Western Rooter I was immediately put at ease, she said "don't worry, I will get someone out to you right away, there is no problem our guys can't fix." Eileen, you were absolutely correct! Justin and Georgie showed up and were able to diagnose and repair the problem within 2 hours. These guys are knowledgeable, professional and courteous, they kept me informed every step of the way, and were even able to install a kitchen sink cleanout for me. I asked Justin if Western Rooter performed sewer line cleaning and he said "yes", I asked if they wouldn't mind cleaning my sewer line since they were already here. Justin said "yes, we can take care of that for you, but why do you feel you need that?" I was curious as to why he would ask me that. The hydro jetting company that I have been using for the past 15 years just comes out to complete this cleaning for me twice a year, no questions asked. Justin said, "I just don't want to charge you for something you don't need." I told him, I have my sewer line cleaned twice a year as preventative maintenance to keep it clear from the tree roots that go in and plug it. Justin suggested inspecting the interior of the sewer line to see if there was possibly another problem besides roots that could be causing the frequent stoppage. My house was built back in 1928 and still had all the original plumbing, so needless to say, there was a problem with my sewer line besides tree roots. Once again, these guys came up with a solution and were back the very next day to address this very serious issue. Western Rooter I can't thank you enough for fixing ALL my plumbing, not only were you fast, but your prices were EXTREMELY reasonable. Justin, Georgie, Mark, Eileen and the entire team that were at my home today, fixing my sewer line (whose names I can't remember, I'm so sorry), I want to say a huge THANK YOU!!! It's all fixed. We had a bad leak of the main water line coming to the house. The 40 years plus old cheap PVC line had finally broke. The breakage was right after the water meter. Ouch! That's my nickel. Between the house and the meter is the concrete driveway of about 50 feet apart. Give a big thank you to Ruben Hernandez, R. J., Angel, and others for a job well done, especially working under 90+ degrees heat. Since I wanted a permanent fix, I decided on routing a new copper line to the house. The team discussed the approach and managed to avoid cutting any concrete by coring new line underground from the meter to the grass area, then run a distance within the grass area, then from the grass area to the main valve to the house. The process was tedious and not easy especially coring through the rocky earth, but the team never gave up and worked even after dark to at least connect a temporary water supply to the house. The team came back the next day and completed the job. Afterward, there was just a very small leak at the newly installed water pressure regulator. Called Western Rooter, Ruben and R.J. came back and had it refit and fixed with no issues. I highly recommend Western Rooter and please ask for Ruben Hernandez and R.J. We had a clog in our sewer line. We have used Western Rooter regularly through the years, as we have several very large and old trees planted over our sewer line. This time, the camera revealed collapsed sections of the main line and root intrusions at the street end that almost completely blocked the passage of water. We had dreaded this day--the day we had to replace the entire line all the way to the street connection, January 11, 2019. At the street connection, it involved a 4' x 4' by 10' deep excation. The job was not simple, and there were big problems. The main water pipe broke at a point where corrosion was very bad. We could see a day and night with no water service at all, but they promised to restore it, and they did. Heavy rains through the week following complicated the job, but we always had water and now a seamless sewer connection. Ruben and Michael and a large team of excavators took care of everything. Today, January 19, they returned to recover a tarpaulin cover that they left over the main excavation to protect it from very heavy rains the previous week. Yes, we would call them right back to fix any future clog, but we don't expect any future drainage problems. read more

Our toilet was leaking at the base and when we flushed, water barely went down. Instead, it almost filled bowl to top, then slowly went down to nothing. The tub would not drain the water when we ran a bit of water in it. I called a previous business and they never got back to me. I picked WR because of it's great reviews and 24 hour service. Got back to me within minutes and because it was late at night we scheduled first thing in morning. We only have one bathroom, so I won't go into detail on how we handled that! My late husband was a plumber and I found a business card he had, it was WR. I felt very confident. Salvador and his partner arrived as scheduled. Went right to work analyzing the situation. They found the problem and worked very hard clearing the sewer line which was terribly clogged for some reason. Salvador was so nice, I felt I knew him for many years. He explained what they did, cleaned everything up. I felt the price was very reasonable and I even got a discount! I definitely recommend WR for any of your plumbing needs. From start to finish, we received superb services from everyone we came in contact with! Luckily, I was given an appointment for the same day since the Gas company had already turned off our gas after they detected a leak but did not inform us (apparently they just sit and wait for you to realize they had turned it off to contact them). Anne scheduled us right away and sent the amazing Christian to detect the problem. Christian and his professional crew came early the next morning and every step of the way, kept us in the loop. A couple of our neighbors came by to find out what was wrong. After telling them it was the gas pipes, everyone wanted to know who we had found because gas is not water. You need to find licensed professionals for this. Christian and his crew dug a trench in my front yard and replaced the broken pipes. What was impressive was the way they carefully did this front yard job. When they were done, Christian even stuck around to speak to the gas company technician to explain what had been done. We were only without gas (i.e. hot showers) for one night thanks to Christian and his guys. Highly, highly recommend this company and Christian! read more

Awesome. Personable, VERY reasonably priced, on time, friendly... and the list goes on. It all started with my washing machine backing up into my shower late in the day. I made the call to Western Rooter and they said over -time fees would be charged if I need them now or wait for standard rates in the morning. I waited. The man assigned, Arnold, called me in the morning to get a detailed assessment of the issue. He and I both thought it was the main line. He arrived on time and passed a camera through the cleanout to check the whole system. It turned out it was clear all the way to the street--and I got to see it for myself! (Which I loved and now know that THAT is in decent shape.) We then knew the problem was just from the shower to the washing machine. Arnold gave me three reasonable prices for clearing it--one for a simple snake, one for a more thorough scrub routing, and, because I asked, one for pipe replacement as it's cast iron and very outdated. All were reasonable. I went with a simple routing ($88!) as it's time to replace those pipes... but not today. Western Rooter will be my go-to plumbers for this kind of thing. read more

We had a major issue with our sewer line. I called Western Rooter after reading all their great Yelp reviews, and I'm so glad I did. A team of Christian Hernandez, Derrick Kim and apprentice Josue came. Their price quote was comparable to others I received , but Christian sounded much more confident and knowledgeable, which made me feel at ease. They used a camera to show me the problem with my sewer line and explained everything clearly. There were more issues than original thought so the repair was more complicated but thanks to Christian, Derrick and Richie Ortiz, who came the second day, the process went smoothly, the team was very friendly, professional, honest, and got everything fixed on schedule. They cleaned up afterward and made sure everything was working perfectly, prep for the concrete team to wrap up. Christian and Derrick even came back the next day to help me, a senior, move my fridge after making sure the concrete dried. Noticed this afternoon that our toilet had backed up into the shower, and was unsure what to do. Did a quick yelp search and found Western Rooter in the area, the dispatcher told me, it would be a two hour time frame. Within about an hour or less Jim was there. He was very nice, and assured me it would be fine, and all problems could be solved, he had to remove the toilet, to deal with the clog because our main drain line had a trap. He did it incredibly fast, and managed to not damage or even scratch any of the hardwood floor. He was fantastic, I don't normally use yelp, but Jim was great, and helped me to get on with my day as soon as possible, he was also extremely friendly, I would call and request Jim if I had another pluming issue, the dispatcher was also very friendly, but I would have to credit Jim for all of his hard work, the machine was not light, and he was very fast, while he maintained conversation and explained what he was doing and why. I had a new faucet to be installed. I had used Western Rooter before to install a faucet at another house so I called them again. I also thought it would be good to "snake" the main drain line as long as they were coming to the house. Pablo arrived on time and quickly installed the faucet. It was an identical match faucet so it simple involved removing the old one, installing the new one. Took him about an hour. I have a four inch drain access in the front yard. Pablo and a helper then ran the snake into the drain. Took about 20 minutes. When all done, I was told $250 for the install and $180 for the drain. $430 total for about an hour and half work. Seemed high so I asked. I was assured the prices were right. I paid. Then called the office. I was told that I was overcharged for running the snake in the drain since it was only a short run. They said they would send me a refund, as the drain cleaning should have been $100. We will see if and when I get the refund. They did a good job, very clean, just expensive for a couple of very easy jobs. read more

5pm on Monday and one of my four daughters says that the toilet won't flush. Then I find that the second toilet wont flush, the sink is backed up too. HELP! I used my Yelp phone app and found Western Rooter with 100+ reviews, most all of them five stars. I called Western and the receptionist was totally understanding of my situation. She said she could have a technician at my house between 7 and 9. I was worried that she meant 7am tomorrow morning, but she meant 7pm tonight. 7pm and Justin called to confirm he was on his way. Justin was courteous and professional. In less than 20 minutes, he had the main line cleared. He asked me to run a lot of water through the pipe to be sure it didn't backup after he leaves. I ran a backwash of the pool filter, and the water drained just as it should. As a small business owner, I recognize and appreciate quality service and people who take pride in their work. Daniel came out to Glendale to help us sort out our water heater - and hopefully resolve a water pressure issue we were having in our shower. While he worked on the water heater, he also checked out the shower valve, and found that the valve culprit. The shower valve was really outside the scope, but he was right that it was causing the issue. I'm very happy customer. He came back later in the day to check out a knocking issue we were having in the plumbing that I forgot to mention earlier in the day. he went down into our very tight crawl space twice to try to find it. Since the knocking is from inside the wall and not under the house, he said he would have to do it another day. No charge for the diagnosis, even though I was expecting to pay. Amazing! I usually get multiple quotes, but was very happy that their price was very reasonable, and didn't feel the need to shop around. will be using Western Rooter again! Highly recommend! read more
