The waitress definitely knew how to work together and moved very efficiently we decided to do the buffet. For starters, the employees behind the counter were welcoming and open. Second, the server willingly wiped down our tables and chairs and saw to it that every single one was clean. As for the ambiance, this place has a homey, Southern feel. This place makes Golden Corral look silly. The fried chicken was simply plump, juicy and flavorful. And the breading was . Get out Chick fil A. The green beans are popping with flavor. As for the fried shrimp, it's perfect. And I'm not a huge shrimp eater. Fried catfish: Amazing. I really can't understand the poor reviews. Sizzlin' has been open since 1985 and is from a different era. If you don't want/like buffets, this is probably not the place for you. That being said, I enjoy the old school steak and baked potato with accompanying salad bar. The desserts are great and bread bar is epic. Rating solely on buffet variety vs price. Next door to Taco Bell opposite from Magnolia Mall. Dinner buffet is $14.99 per, this is same price Golden Corral in Flo charges. The difference Sizzler has much less choices. There are 2 salad, 2 hot, 2 dessert areas; the desserts are laughable. My wife's ice cream cone was room temp so was a liquid mess. Some foods on the hot bar tasted Old. The salad portion was fine except lettuce wasn't super fresh. I think Sizzler may be a better option for steak but we didn't sample this. My cousin in law invited me to come and have lunch with her after Church service. The food was excellent liked the fact that your server provided you with the plates. They have ample parking, but we came at the beginning of dinner time so the lot was 85% full. You walk in and then your corrals to the register to pay for your food. The food is Buffay style. There were three different areas. I had food on it under lambs, then there was an area that had different breads and rolls and bakes. Then they had an ice cream station that had sprinkles. The staff didn't seem that welcoming. They got her drink orders wrong. Granted we were a party of about 22 so I guess there's room for error there. They have to bring you plates for you to go to the Buffet and each time they brought plates. There was food left on it from not washing them correctly. I saw a whole olive on the bottom of what are the plates some other smeared veggies on top of other plates. This happened each time they route plates, and they came by five times to give us please. They are also stingy with the plates, so we had to run them down to get plates. We had to run them down to get silverware. As dinner went on they got a little bit better about checking in to see what we needed, but I don't recommend coming here as a bigger party. read more

Ordered takeout today and didn't even get half of what was on the plate the day before. 4 tenders in takeout box, 7 on the plate. Hardly any fries and the food was lukewarm. I have never been more disappointed in a restaurant than I was this one. We got there about 5:45 on a Saturday evening. The food bars were filthy, and the salad bar disgusting. A handful of wet lettuce floated in water, 75% of the salad items were empty and what was filled had other food mixed in. The fried chicken had been cooked a long time and was dry and rubbery. My meal ended up being corn and cottage cheese. Pretty pricey for those two things. The servers were doing a good job, but it was all lost in the disappointing food and lack of cleanliness. The line was long with the 'after church' crowds, but moved quickly. For those unfamiliar with the set up, upon entry you order & pay prior to taking a seat & being greeted by your server. The server will fill your drink orders, bring plates for the buffet and/or entrees from the kitchen. Our server this day was super attentive & polite. Specials for everyday of the week, large buffet with cold, hot & dessert options + soft serve all at super reasonable prices! The yeast rolls are absolutely not to be missed! As a child I would frequent this chain in my hometown & always got the buffet, which looked sinfully delicious here... but I opted for the chopped steak w/peppers & onions in honor of my mom, whom I always went with. Nothing fancy, but it was one of her favorite dishes. The BF got a sirloin cooked rare w/baked potato & it was the highlight of them both. Cooked to perfection with a flavorful sear on the outside. For the price, it certainly could not be beat!! Kids all got the buffet & enjoyed. Certainly a great trip down memory lane! read more

Me and my family have been going here since I was a child but after today I doubt I will be back for a while because the service was absolutely terrible and it was close to 90 degrees in the restaurant. We called and since we don't have the receipt they told us basically there's nothing they can do. And have been calling for over a week and everytime I get told that there's only one person who can fix it and they're not there. My wife and I drove from Columbia to eat here today and also to go to the new Buc-ee's. The prices are very good and the buffet was amazingly fresh,clean and very well stocked. Also the waitstaff were very friendly and kept the dining room spotless and drinks topped off. I went for the weekday lunch buffet. When you order at the line, you are given one plate and your server is supposed to supply additional plates. The buffet itself was ok. Fair selection of salad items were available, and a good variety of meats, sides and desserts were available. The biggest disappointment was the lack of service. Once i selected a table, a server brought my beverage and a second plate for the buffet as I made a trip for a salad. This was the end of any service for me. Once I finished the salad, I took the plate the server left and selected some entree items from the buffet. Around me were several tables that were getting more fresh plates and beverage refills. I was ignored. Even after I had finished the plate of food and my beverage glass was empty, I was ignored. I sat there for five minutes with no food and no beverage, and servers helping others around me, I was still ignored. Finally got up and left. Inexcusable service. read more

a waitress threw my grandson's retainer away and refused to get it out of the trash. $500 retainer and talked horrible to my daughter. Can I give a negative star review? I'm still angry about today's experience. We are locals. We've been eating there since a was young, Im 48. My 82 year old mom requested to go there. It started with the waitress. She was mad and angry at the world. We were seated close to where the drinks are prepared. While fixing our 3 drinks she was coughing nonstop. No masks were worn by employees. My mom got the hot bar, my hubby steak snd salad bar, I got a order snd asked it to be put in a to go box. Honestly the place looked dirty. Everything my mom tried from the hot bar was inedible. Even the instant masked potatoes. My husbands steak came out looking raw and greenish in the middle and hard burnt black on outside. When he told the waitress he just couldn't eat it, she snatched the plate up and took it away. Shortly afterwards she brought $13 and some change and laid it on the table. Never saying ONE WORD at all the entire time. I went up front and asked to speak to a manager. Apparently there were two in the building but neither would come out. I usually never write reviews but this place deserves what they get. Very disappointed!! 3 people went there hungry and three people left hungry. I guess this review could have been avoided if one of the managers would have come out to speak to us. read more

You can order steak or chicken and get their small salad/hot bar on the side. Or if you're not into steaks, you can just order their salad/hot bar. I'm not a big fan of their grilled meats, mostly because I can cook them better at home so I just got their salad and hot bar. The food is about on par as golden corral, but there are fewer options. The service is fast and friendly and you pay before you sit down. The steaks are hit-and-miss. Sometimes they are tasty, and other times not. Even worse is the service. Occasionally, you will get an attentive waitress. More often than not, you will get one who you won't see after she has been to your table a couple of times. Yesterday I tipped another waitress who got me drink refills when mine was nowhere to be found, a couple of times. Other times i have had to flag the waitress down for every single thing else I needed - drink refills, check, condiments, etc. Definitely will consider other options, when paying $18 for their special to them does not warrant good service to their customers. read more

Haven't been to a western sizzler in years and I doubt I'll ever go back. Decided to go for dinner with the family. The buffet has limited options and you could tell the food isn't turned over consistently. My father in law ordered a Rib eye steak medium, I swear the steak came out still mooing from the pasture. Last but not least the service was not very good at all. The waitress stands around on her phone until you wave around your drink for a refill and doesn't bring the condiments you ask for until you've already finished your meal. That was the worst restaurant I've ever eaten at. Had to send steak back 3 times and it still came back wrong. Evidently the cook doesn't know how to cook. When the manager came and explained to him he said he'd comp the ticket. The waitress brought back money and come to find out he only comped the steak. The other food I had except the salad was cold.
